Hyena Harris

I knew that laugh sounded familiar.

From now on, I think I’m just going to call Kamala Harris “Hyena Harris.”

Now, to be clear, it won’t be pronounced like hyena. No. You pronounce it: HIGH-unuh.

So get it right, haters!

It’s that laugh of hers — that cackling, inappropriate, braying laugh Hyena Harris blurts out every time she gets caught having to answer a question on anything other than her choice of footwear.

For Joe Biden’s President-in-Waiting, calling her Hyena Harris works on multiple levels.

Like the hyena, Kamala lets the other animals do the hard work while she hangs back, carefully positioned, and waits for the chance to swoop in and steal the carcass.

But it’s that laugh, really.

There’s an episode of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” where Xander and a few other students get possessed by hyena spirits. At first Buffy and Willow are unsure why Xander and the others are acting so strangely – aggressive, pack-like behavior, viciousness accompanied by braying laughter. Finally when Buffy realizes that all the strangeness started after Xander and the rest saw the hyena exhibit at the zoo, she says, “Oh, God. That laugh.”

Yesterday while on her tour to promote the $1.9T pork-laden “stimulus” bill, Hyena Harris was asked about the crisis at the border.

And, as is usually the case when she is asked a non-sneakers question, Hyena Harris did what she does best.

She deployed that laugh.

As I explained in October, that laugh of Kamala’s is her defense mechanism. Hyena Harris is so bad at this, she is riddled with “tells” that make it easy to spot when she is lying and when she is unable to adequately answer a question.

It telegraphs quite a bit, that laugh of Kamala’s.

She doesn’t know how to answer, so she covers up her inability to think of a lie by laughing inappropriately.

There’s nothing warm or charming about that laugh.

It’s awkward and off-putting.

And Kamala does it every single time she is pressed for an answer to a question that she simply wasn’t expecting.

Just last week, Theodore Roosevelt Malloch, a contributor at American Greatness, wrote a column under the title “President Cackle.” I admit, the title alone made me want to read it.

We have all seen her and the idiomatic cackle. It is so haunting that it is difficult to forget. It is absolutely nightmarish. In fact, the cackle has become her hallmark and very calling card.

Like a hyena.

Several years ago, someone took the bullet and put together a montage video of Hillary Clinton laughing. It’s ten hours long.

I wonder how long it will be before some enterprising video maker with a strong stomach does the same for Hyena Harris.

But if that video ends up being ten hours long nobody would make it to the end. In fact, I’d guess that just five minutes in you’d be willing to gnaw off your own arm just to free yourself from that hyena laugh.
