WATCH: Mark Levin Shreds Rushed Impeachment Report

Fox News host, author, and constitutional expert Mark Levin ripped apart House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s rushed-as-hell impeachment charade 2.0 during a fired-up appearance on “Hannity” on Wednesday night with the precision of a surgeon.

An angry surgeon with a chainsaw destroying the enemy that is.

Before we get to Levin’s dissection of Pelosi, Senate Minority Leader Chucky Schumer, and the second impeachment farce of Trump’s presidency — making Trump the first president in U.S. history to be impeached twice — here’s a snapshot of what went down, yesterday, as reported by the New York Times.

Lawmakers adopted a resolution that would compel Vice President Mike Pence to invoke the 25th Amendment after President Trump incited a mob attack on the Capitol last week. In a letter to Speaker Nancy Pelosi earlier in the evening, Mr. Pence rejected the effort.

[The Article of Impeachment] charges “Donald John Trump engaged in high Crimes and Misdemeanors by inciting violence against the Government of the United States,” the resolution argues, citing his false claims of election fraud in the months leading up to the riot — which he repeated on Jan. 6 — and a phone call to Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger where Trump urged him to “find” votes to overturn the results there.

The impeachment article says that during an address to supporters on Wednesday, Trump “willfully made statements that, in context, encouraged — and foreseeably resulted in — lawless action at the Capitol, such as: ‘if you don’t fight like hell you’re not going to have a county anymore.’ “

The host of “Life, Liberty & Levin” unleashed a fiery rant on “Hannity,” in which he shredded the hypocrisy of the House Democrats, calling their rushed impeachment of Trump a “phony” article of impeachment with zero merit — particularly in reference to Trump being responsible for “inciting” last week’s Capitol riot.

Levin argued that “not one sliver of evidence of inciting an insurrection” was contained in the impeachment report, which historians will one day wonder if it was written by “a moron.”

“We heard no evidence whatsoever that the president incited anything. There’s not one sliver of evidence of inciting an insurrection of any kind in this document. Historians are going to look at this and say, what kind of a moron wrote a document like this?”

He mad. Justifiably so, of course.

Ten Republicans joined Pelosi’s Democrat Caucus in the 232-197 vote to impeach, as reported by the New York Times.

Rep. John Katco (NY)
Rep. Adam Kinzinger (IL)
Rep. Fred Upton (MI)
Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler (WA)
Rep. Dan Newhouse (WA)
Rep. Liz Cheney (WY)
Rep. Anthony Gonzalez (OH)
Rep. Peter Meijer (MI)
Rep. Tom Rice (SC)
Rep. David Valadao (CA)

Levin turned the charge against Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, whose level of spite and blind hatred of Donald Trump could not be more obvious.

“Who’s attacking the Constitution? Nancy Pelosi has just destroyed the separation of powers by the use of the impeachment power this way, she’s destroyed separation of powers.

“What else? Chuck Schumer wants to destroy the courts. Chuck Schumer wants to destroy the Senate. Chuck Schumer wants to destroy the Electoral College. Who is attacking the Constitution?”

Levin said “the American people saw two types of tyrannies this week” — “one today in the House of Representatives, and one last week outside of the Capitol building.”

“We saw tyranny last Wednesday […] there are the nut jobs, who are armed up, and then there are the people in suits and ties and well-dressed. They look really good; they have perfume and cologne on, and they show up in Congress. We have a tyranny of the legislature.”

“The Great One” also tore into the Democrats and their liberal media sock puppets for labeling month after month of burning, looting, torching police cars, destroying small businesses, and killing innocent people, as “peaceful protests.”

As a result, Levin said, “I don’t want to hear any lecture from any Leftists.”

“I don’t want to hear any lecture from any Leftists, whether they are in the media, whether they are in politics, whether they are in entertainment or corporate boardrooms, about violence.

“We conservatives, we Trump supporters, have been denouncing violence from day one. You sit there and you decided if you agree with the result. You either oppose violence or you don’t.

You either support the Constitution [or] you don’t. The problem with the Left is, they cherry-pick, which means they support nothing that’s principled and righteous.”

Levin told Hannity he believes, as do other constitutional scholars, that the U.S. Senate cannot — constitutionally — hold an impeachment trial for a private citizen, as would be the case with former President Donald Trump.

As I reported Wednesday in an article titled Impeachment DOA? McConnell Nixes Emergency Session, Former Federal Judge: No ‘Constitutional Authority’ to Impeach Trump After He Leaves Office, former U.S. Court of Appeals Judge J. Michael Luttig believes talk of the Senate holding an impeachment trial after Trump leaves office would be unconstitutional.

“The Constitution itself answers this question clearly: No, he cannot be. Once Trump’s term ends on Jan. 20, Congress loses its constitutional authority to continue impeachment proceedings against him — even [though] the House has already approved articles of impeachment.”

As I also covered in the article, Harvard Professor of Law, Emeritus Alan Dershowitz also believes a post-inaugural Senate trial of Trump would be unconstitutional.

“The case cannot come for trial in the Senate because the Senate has rules, and the rules would not allow the case to come to trial until – according to the majority leader – 1 p.m. on Jan. 20, an hour after President Trump leaves office.

“And the Constitution specifically says, ‘The President shall be removed from office upon impeachment.’ It doesn’t say the former president. Congress has no power to impeach or try a private citizen […].”

Meanwhile, there are other “experts” who suggest that a Senate trial of Trump could occur after Biden’s inauguration, as does Biden himself, along with multiple other lawmakers and various political pundits. Personally, I’ll go with Levin, Dershowitz, and “that other guy.”

Either way, stay tuned. Given that 2020 is — at least for now — holding 2021’s beer, grab the popcorn, have a seat, and wait for the festivities to begin. Again. Or not.
