Media: 77 Is Not Too Old For Biden But It’s Way Too Old For Trump In 2024
The Washington Post’s Glenn Kessler took a shot at President Donald J. Trump’s age on Monday after an article in Axios signaled Trump’s intentions to run for re-election in 2024 if his bid fails this year, ignoring that Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden is 77 years old right now.
“He’ll only be 78,” Kessler wrote sarcastically.
Kessler clarified with more sarcasm directed toward’s the president’s age.
“Boy, no one understands humor on Twitter. Yes, I know Biden will soon be 78. So Trump would be a spring chicken in four years compared to Biden if he runs for re-election,” he said.
Earlier in the year, Kessler attempted to defend Biden from accusations of senility, saying that the Trump Ccmpaign’s advertisements in the Washington Post in August suggesting so were “just silly.”
“Anyone could put together a similar collection of Trump misstatements that make him appear like an confused old man,” he wrote.
Others at WaPo including the infamous NeverTrumper Jennifer Rubin also asserted in 2019 that Trump was “too old” to run for re-election because “he is increasingly incoherent.” Instead of acknowledging Biden’s old man gaffes, she praised the former vice president and Democrat presidential candidate as someone who “with his aviator sunglasses (plus his promotion of exercise during the Obama administration), projects vitality and energy.”
Even though there is plenty of evidence that Biden is often mentally incoherent and may not be suited for the demands on the leader of the free world, corporate media continue to go to bat for him, issuing fact checks against those who point out Biden’s clear memory failures and communication flaws.
Even more ironic than the mainstream media’s blatant ignorance of Biden’s inabilities is its amplification of Biden’s COVID-19 task force choices, which include Ezekiel Emanuel, 63, who has publicly stated that he doesn’t believe older people contribute to society and that he wants to die by 75.
