One SUV Ride made our garbage media melt down

Yesterday afternoon, President Trump posted another video to Twitter updating us on his condition and thanking the doctors, nurses and staff at Walter Reed. He also thanked the crowds of Americans standing vigil outside the hospital. Then he revealed a little surprise. He would venture out to greet the gathering crowds. And he did – albeit from inside an SUV.

Instantly, as if set on fire, the news media went into full thermonuclear meltdown that made their meltdown over President Trump doing a lap around the Daytona 500 track in “The Beast” look tepid by comparison.

The breathless well-I-nevering, the pearl-clutching hysteria and the sputtering outrage that erupted over this one SUV ride was so over-the-top, even as sick as I am, I was howling with laughter at every indignant tweet.

Well, howling with laughter, then coughing uncontrollably.

“HE PUT THOSE SECRET SERVICE AGENTS LIVES AT RISK!!”

Poor Jennifer Rubin, fresh off her “WHY IS TRUMP TAKING MARINE ONE TO WALTER REED WHEN HE CAN BE DRIVEN?!” meltdown from Friday revved up her outrage engines once again over the President’s brief SUV ride outside of Walter Reed.

Which is really ironic since just Friday she was demanding the President climb into an SUV and be driven to Walter Reed.

What a freaking drama queen.

Not only was President Trump wearing an N95 respirator mask, his Secret Service detail in the SUV were all in full personal protective equipment.

But facts don’t matter to Jen.

Nor to anyone else who melted down on Twitter and cable news over this brief SUV ride.

Yes, please take medical advice from the former head of Planned Parenthood.

All this breathless concern for the Secret Service from people who, for months, have been attacking law enforcement is transparently insincere.

They’re not concerned about the Secret Service.

And they sure as hell aren’t concerned that Trump is killing people “to assuage his ego” (as the Dusty Mummy tweeted during her frantic meltdown on Twitter).

This brief SUV ride upset these idiots because what they want is President Trump lying prone in a hospital bed on a ventilator tapping out “I resign” in Morse code. And it just isn’t working out that way.

They’re also super upset because they understand just how powerful the optics of that SUV ride were. Here you have the President of the United States, despite being treated for COVID, coming out and greeting his supporters outside of the hospital. You don’t think that sends a powerful message?

Strong optics are the last thing these ugly, awful people want.

This COVID diagnosis was supposed to sideline Trump. It was supposed to ruin his reelection campaign. And these huffy kill-joys are furious that it’s not happening.

They’re not worried about the health of the Secret Service. They are, however, terribly worried that even with COVID, President Trump still has the stamina, not to mention the connection to the American people, that basement-dwelling Biden will never have.

And that realization left them churlish and petulant.

Meanwhile, the White House Correspondence Association released this inadvertently hilarious statement about the President’s SUV ride:

“It is outrageous for the president to have left the hospital – even briefly – amid a health crisis without a protective pool present to ensure that the American people know where their president is and how he is doing. Now more than ever, the American public deserves independent coverage of the president so they can be reliably informed about his health.”

Let me translate that for you into the King’s English:

“HOW DARE THEY ARRANGE THIS SUV RIDE AND NOT TELL US ABOUT IT!!!”

President Trump doesn’t need a “protective pool” of White House reporters. And the American people sure as hell don’t need them to “know where their president is and how he is doing.”

For crying out loud, President Trump released a video on Twitter telling the American people he was going out to greet his supporters. The White House Correspondence Association is just angry that Trump left them out of the loop.

But that’s one of the things they hate about President Trump, isn’t it?

Unlike Obama whose entire presidency was stage-managed and finessed by the American news media, President Trump doesn’t need these idiots. When it comes to messaging, they are irrelevant.

And it’s that irrelevance that has them fuming over yesterday’s brief SUV ride.

Trump’s SUV ride upset these people because they already had it in their heads that this COVID diagnosis would be the end of his reelection bid, not to mention the immediate end of his Presidency.

And this man, like the Energizer Bunny, just keeps going.

Here it is before eight o’clock Monday morning and already Trump is back on Twitter like it’s any other day.

The President’s COVID experience is a reflection of the country. We may be battered. We may be down. But don’t ever count us out.

And see, that right there is what makes them so angry.

Their fantasies of Trump dying of COVID, or at the very least being pushed out by the 25th Amendment, just got run over by an SUV.

And it’s glorious!
