Amy Coney Barrett Hearings Show Democrats Don’t Want a Return to Normal
Days 1 and 2 of Judge Amy Coney Barrett’s Supreme Court confirmation hearings have made it abundantly clear: Democrats do not want America to get back to normal.
A Supreme Court confirmation is part of the normal operation of our government, as is passing laws and relief packages that will assist Americans in getting back to their way of life. With Democrat lawmakers’ rejection of a $1.8 trillion relief offer last week, and their posturing during these confirmation hearings, the crux of this fight has been made even more apparent.
The Democrat argument that we’re all supposed to be hunkered down in fear of an invisible virus entering our pores, and most importantly, that we cannot allow ourselves to think that things are getting back to normal is being ripped to shreds and used as confetti.
Senate Democrats couldn’t stop the Barrett confirmation hearings, so what is left of the strategy? To keep repeating the lie. At every turn in the hearings thus far, the Democrat Senators reminded the American people that things are not normal and we shouldn’t be going on with business as usual.
When it was their time to ask questions on Judge Barrett’s judicial philosophy and record, many of the Democrat Senators spent half that time talking about how these hearings are “unprecedented”, “rushed”, and unheard of so close to an election. Supposedly speaking for the American people, they never failed to remind us how awful and disrespectful President Trump is being to the American people and the 200,000 plus citizens who have already died from COVID.
“Remember we are in the midst of a global pandemic where people are being forced to choose between their vote and their health”, Amy Klobuchar warned Judge Barrett.
“It’s not normal”, Cory Booker opined, with a concerned and saddened look as he pontificated about having to participate in the unconstitutional hearings.
With great earnestness, California Senator and Democrat vice presidential candidate Kamala Harris spent 15 of the 30 minutes of her time on what was essentially a stump speech. She led with the COVID-19 pandemic, economic crisis, and COVID-19 numbers. “The Senate must be laser-focused to get you through this pandemic”, she said as the reason why these hearings should not be happening. This is, of course, after rejecting McConnell’s targeted package that would have brought relief to the millions of Americans she claims she is laser-focused on.
As the Washington Examiner pointed out,
“The coronavirus seems to be doing all the work for the Democratic Party’s campaign effort. They’d really be in a bind without it.”
Now, it appears that even with it, the efforts to use it as a cudgel of control dissipate with each passing day.
President Trump’s speedier-than-expected recovery from COVID was also a nail in the coffin of their rejection of normal. His return to the campaign trail flies in the face of the Democrat strategy of gloom, doom, and be very afraid.
In the event you still haven’t gotten the message, here is what the Democrats (and a complicit media) insist is reality, and how time, science, and President Trump’s near-miraculous recovery has debunked it:
COVID is a death sentence. Not only did President Trump disprove this, but he also got to spotlight experimental therapies like monoclonal antibody therapy, Remdesivir, and Dexamethasone. How does this help? It reflects that we don’t have to wait for a vaccine in order to combat COVID and get on with our lives. Since his return to the White House, the President has tested negative for COVID and has done two rallies back-to-back. He is giving hope that if you contract COVID, death is not inevitable and comeback is possible; even if you are in the high-risk groups.
Stay at home; if you must go out, socially distance. Between President Trump’s first public event, the #Blexit “Back the Blue” rally last Saturday, to his rallies in Sanford Florida (Monday), Johnstown, Pennsylvania (Tuesday), and Des Moines, Iowa tonight, the envelope on these diktats has been pushed into oblivion.
It hasn’t helped the Democrat cause that the WHO declared that lockdowns are now bad. The WHO recommendations have been the adopted “science” since March, and we have been told that this is the only way to “stop the spread”. Anyone who spoke out against the efficacy of lockdowns was accused of being against the science and wanting people to die. Now, this argument has gone up in smoke like the Redwoods in California.
Wear the Mask. President Trump strategically threw his mask into the crowd in Sanford, Florida to much cheer and uproar. Like the lockdown argument, with the new CDC study that shows the highest number of those infected with COVID-19 were those who wore masks often, we are going to see even more push back on the theater of the masks (please God).
Despite the Democrats’ best efforts of lockdown, looting, and fear-mongering, people are working on getting back to normal. Some are even leaving their homes to vote in person, apparently willing to prioritize their vote, even if it risks their health — and that is their choice. Thankfully, many Americans are not buying this last gasp effort at fear. We are reflecting that we do not need a “new” normal, when the old normal can be restored and maintained. The odds of that happening are looking better and better.
We will more than likely see a branch of our government return to normal with the confirmation of Amy Coney Barrett as an Associate Justice to the Supreme Court. Hopefully; may it also be a turning point for the rest of our institutions.
