Me-Me-Me Michelle’s Great Depression
There’s nothing so insulting as an Obama pretending she’s got a hard-knock life. But Me-Me-Me Michelle is famous for it.
Back in 2013, I wrote a column about Michelle Obama titled “Me-Me-Me: It’s all about Me.”
Which, by the way, is one of the many early Dianny columns featured in my first volume of RANT.
In “Me-Me-Me: It’s all about Me,” I wrote:
What is it about the Obamas that they have to make everything about them?
And you know they make everything about them, because Barack Obama frequently points out that “this is not about me!”
It’s become a mainstream joke counting the use of the word “I” in every Obama speech – be it Barack or Michelle.
They talk about themselves more than anyone or anything else.
And they twist themselves into pretzels to make every single event somehow relate to their life.
The whole “Me-Me-Me: It’s all about me” became the theme of virtually every speech Michelle ever gave.
In fact, she took her “Me-Me-Me: It’s all about me” on a world tour – including a stop in Argentina back in March of 2016.
Turns out, Michelle’s navel-gazing, self-obsessed victimhood did not disappear when she left the White House.
Because now she’s back at it with her very own podcast.
Nearly five months ago, Americans were told we needed to hole up in our homes for two weeks to “flatten the curve” so as not to overwhelm our hospital system with Wuhan cases.
Two weeks became a month.
A month became two months.
Two months became “We need to stay shut down until we stop the spread of the virus entirely.”
In short, we were lied to.
Capricious governors and mayors have crippled our economy because of the lie.
Tens of millions of Americans lost their jobs.
Businesses have been shuttered, and some will never ever reopen.
Children are suffering the effects of state-imposed isolation.
Depression, alcoholism, drug abuse and domestic violence is on the rise.
People are losing their homes, their livelihoods — it isn’t good, folks.
The entire nation is suffering the after-effects caused by the overreach and ill-thought-out “Pandemic response” from state and local governments.
We are all suffering right now.
But naturally, Me-Me-Me Michelle feels the need to whine about her “low-grade depression” on her “It’s All About Me” podcast (hat tip the New York Post).
“I’m dealing with some form of low-grade depression,” said the über-wealthy woman who, when she lost her job as First Lady inked an 8-figure book deal. “Not just because of the quarantine, but because of the racial strife and just seeing this administration. Watching the hypocrisy of it day in and day out is dispiriting.”
Well, if anyone knows about hypocrisy, it’s Michelle Obama.
I wonder if Me-Me-Me Michelle does her podcast from her palatial estate on Martha’s Vineyard or her mansion in DC? Does anybody know?
Her famous lack of self-awareness hasn’t dissipated since leaving the White House either.
How many violent riots happened over the course of Obama’s tenure? We had Ferguson, Trayvon Martin, Minneapolis (the first time), Baltimore, Charlotte, Dallas where five law enforcement officers were assassinated – that was a whole hell of a lot of racial strife happening on Obama’s watch.
Funny how Michelle doesn’t remember any of that.
Do you think she suffered “low-grade depression” when all those riots were going on?
She probably couldn’t pull her thoughts away from herself long enough to even care.
Okay, that’s not entirely true. After all the “racial strife” during the Obama years gave Michelle a perfect opportunity to talk about how she’s a victim of racism.
There’s nothing so insulting as an Obama pretending she’s got a hard-knock life. But Me-Me-Me Michelle is famous for it.
In fact, in my second volume of columns, RANT 2.0: Even More Politics & Snark in the Age of Obama, I have a chapter titled “It’s a Hard-Knock Life” — the introduction of which reads:
To hear the Obamas, you would think that they are the most put-upon, unfortunate, sad-sacks to ever grace the world stage. They do nothing but demand fawning coverage while they kvetch and complain about how hard they have it.
Seriously, these two people are so completely lacking in empathy and self-awareness.
When they’re not whining about how they are treated, they are demanding that we praise them and appreciate them.
While they complain about “downright mean” America, they are living high on the hog courtesy of “downright mean” American taxpayers.
Poor Barack and Michelle.
Nobody knows the trouble they’ve seen — with their mansion, private jets and helicopters, their phalanx of private security, staff and gourmet chefs.
What is truly pathetic is how the Enslaved Press encourage the Obamas to air their complaints and bitch-sessions on every possible television program from The View to 60 Minutes. The Enslaved Press will never let go of the hairbrained belief that We the People can’t get enough of this couple.
Here’s hoping on January 20, 2017, we all finally find the “OFF” button.
Well, it’s 2020 and Me-Me-Me Michelle now has a podcast to cry about her how tough she has it. My kingdom for the OFF button.
Millions of you lost your jobs over the last five months.
Our economy was deliberately destroyed ruining countless small businesses and lives.
And many of those businesses that managed to survive the initial lockdowns were looted, burned and destroyed by violent rioters far more responsible for “racial strife” than the Trump Administration ever could be.
But from one of her spacious mansions, Me-Me-Me Michelle has to whine about her “low-grade depression” to those much worse-off than she is. Because what’s losing a business or facing foreclosure or losing your life savings compared to the troubles she’s seen?
