If The Democratic Party Runs Joe Biden, It Will Be Clear They Don’t Care About America

As the Democratic National Convention comes to a close, one thing is apparent, the establishment party just doesn’t care about this country.

Some of the greatest figures in Republican party history have long cautioned against the notion held by their constituents that the Democratic Party has nefarious motives when it comes to leading this nation. President Ronald Reagan is said to have admonished his staff, that when it comes to American politics, “remember, we have no enemies, only opponents.”

Likewise, Republican representative and candidate for President John McCain famously defended Democrat Barack Obama, against whom he was running, multiple times on the campaign trail, reiterating that Obama was a decent man, and that the two just disagreed on fundamental issues.

I, too, believed this thought-process was the best approach to politics. Sure, Republicans and Democrats disagree on how to fix a problem, but both parties want the same thing—the problem to actually be fixed, right? I’m not so sure anymore. For me, this positive outlook on the Democratic Party’s motives began to crack with the Kavanaugh hearings.

In 2018, with the retiring of Justice Anthony Kennedy from the Supreme Court, an open spot was suddenly available on the highest court in the nation, and President Trump and his fellow Republicans scrambled to fill the position before the November election.

The nominee, Brett Kavanaugh, was soon accused by Christina Blazy Ford of raping her in high school, and despite multiple holes in her story, Senate Democrats took the unsubstantiated story and ran with it. They attempted to use it to pummel Kavanaugh’s sterling reputation into the ground, disqualifying him from the Supreme Court—simply because he subscribes to different ideological viewpoints than them, particularly when it comes to abortion.

Even though Kavanaugh was approved in the end, I believe this is when Democratic leaders revealed their true motives. Sure, they’d pay lip service to diversity of thought and freedom of speech (though, for most members of the party, not when anything they’d construe as hateful is involved), but when it actually came time to stand up for due process or the rights of other Americans, they’d just look the other way. The masks were stripped away, and the Democratic Party was revealed—it was no longer opposition to Republicans, it was a concentrated effort to keep an originalist-minded justice from the bench, just because he disagreed with their politics.

In addition to displaying the true motives of the Democratic Senate, the Kavanaugh debacle also brought about an interview with Joe Biden. The former vice president was asked in a September 2018 Today interview with Craig Melvin how he thought the Senate should’ve handled the allegations against Kavanaugh. “I think they should do an FBI investigation,” Biden said at the time. “We did that for Anita Hill, took two days, number one; and number two, and most importantly, Anita Hill was vilified when she came forward by a lot of my colleagues—character assassination—I wish I could’ve done more to prevent those questions and the way they asked them. I hope my colleagues learned from that…” The content of Biden’s answer doesn’t matter, just read how clear the former VP’s thought process was less than two years ago—his language, sentence construction, and quick deployment of words to convey his positions on the fly were all evidence of a sharp mind, one still ready to take on the toughest political challenges of the day.

Contrast that 2018 answer to one Biden gave recently in an interview with CBS News’ Errol Barnett. The presumptive Democratic Nominee was asked if he’s taken a cognitive test, to which he rambled, “no, I haven’t taken a test! Why the h*** would I take a test?! Come on, man! That’s like saying you, before you got on this program you take a test were you taking cocaine or not. What do you think? Huh? Are, are you a junkie? Haha. … Well, if he [Trump] can’t figure out the difference between an elephant and a lion, I don’t know what the h*** he’s talking about. Is your wife se… look, come on, man. I, I, I, I know you’re trying to goad me, but, um, I mean, I’m so forward looking to have an opportunity to sit with the President or stand with the President and debates.”

None of that was a typo; Joe Biden said those exact words—in 2018, he was a clear and sharp-minded man, in 2020, that is definitely no longer the case. That decline of speech and mind happened in just two years, some of which was spent hiding in his basement; imagine what four years as President, probably the most stressful, toll-taking job in the country, would do to Joe. In addition, during a press conference held in late June, a reporter asked if Biden had been tested for cognitive decline. The former VP responded, “I’ve been tested and I’m constantly tested. Look, all you got to do is watch me, and I can hardly wait to compare my cognitive capability to the cognitive capability of the man I’m running against.” So, taking into account the recent CBS interview, Biden either forgot he’s been tested multiple times for declining mental abilities, or he was lying—neither of which bode well for his return-to-decency style campaign.

And, sadly, Biden stumbling his way through the CBS interview isn’t an isolated occurrence. He regularly makes mistakes hinting at his much bigger problem, extreme cognitive deterioration. Biden often slurs, stumbles, and stutters his way through interviews; on multiple occasions he’s forgotten where he is; announced he’s running for the senate, while on the campaign trail for President; mixed up his wife and sister; forgot one of the most famous lines from the Declaration of Independence, along with the name of God; has made confusing remarks about black female senators; and often forgets Obama’s name, the man under whom he served as VP. Put all of these instances together (and there are more than I’ve listed here), and a troubling pattern forms, one impossible to ignore.

The Democratic Party has eyes, its members can obviously see their presumptive candidate falling apart, but they just don’t care—Barack Obama took forever to endorse Biden for the Presidency, clearly signaling he felt at least apprehensive about the eventual political recommendation, and members of the media are literally penning articles pleading with Joe to simply stay alive. In addition, Joe himself seems to not even believe he’d be able to finish a second term, calling himself a “transition candidate.” But Democrats are so blinded by Trump Derangement Syndrome that they’d rather a bumbling, weak, dementia-riddled old man lead this country through a global pandemic, sweeping, violent social unrest while a movement seeking to defund the police gains steam; and the many highly charged, unstable international situations facing today’s America—from a nuclear North Korea to an election-meddling Russia—than Donald Trump win another four years.

This is the man Democrats want to put up for President. If Joe wins the Presidency (and current polls predict he will), he’ll be one of the most powerful people in the world, an old man clearly suffering from extreme cognitive decline will be in charge of the entire U.S. military, and the nuclear launch buttons.

President Ronald Reagan got this country through the Cold War, and won, by using one simple strategy—peace through strength. He successfully negotiated with Communist Russia’s leaders by exhibiting that same value to them. Steely courage and strength. That was in the 1980s. Now, “Sleepy Joe” might be the one negotiating with Russia’s Putin, and navigating our country through the current cold war with China—with its intellectual property theft, suspected spying, and concentration-camp-treatment of Uighurs Muslims. Does the Democratic Party really think Biden will exhibit the same fortitude as President Reagan, or even the same resolve and love for America? Is Joe even capable of standing up to antagonistic foreign leaders? I highly doubt it. The Democratic Party would be highly irresponsible, if not maliciously motivated, to nominate Joe for the Presidency.

Joe Biden is a 77-year-old establishment lawmaker who’s been in U.S. politics since the 1970s. He’s a man who speaks confusingly to an American interviewer asking a simple yes-or-no question, and the one who might have to represent and stand up for this country abroad, to our friends and enemies, alike.

Democrats want to nominate that man for President, and if they do so, it’ll prove they no longer care about this country, or the people in it. If the Democratic Party truly wants someone who’s clearly suffering from severe mental deterioration as President, rather than a healthy man with whom they just disagree on fundamental political issues, Biden’s mind won’t be the only thing declining, America will soon follow.

If that party puts Joe Biden up for the Presidency, discourse and civility in this nation, unfortunately, are dead. And if his aids aren’t careful, Joe will probably soon follow suit. But, knowing the Democrats, they’ll keep wheeling his body out as a political prop, ignoring the truth staring them dead in the eyes.
