Lori Lightfoot really wants that title of “America’s Worst Mayor”

I think we’re zeroing in on why Kayleigh McEneny
referred to Lori Lightfoot as the “derelict mayor.”

In the “Who’s America’s Worst Mayor” sweepstakes, it looks like Bill de Blasio has some serious competition. Watch your back, Bill because Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot is nipping at your heels.

The other day, in her ongoing effort to prevent Chicagoans from living their lives freely, tough-talking Lightfoot laid down the law on scofflaws who refuse to adhere to her strict Wuhan Panic lockdown orders.

Said tough-talking Lightfoot:

“Now I’ve directed Superintendent Brown to order all police districts to give special attention to these parties. And this is how it’s going to be. We will shut you down. We will cite you. And if we need to, we will arrest you and we will take you to jail. Period.”

And despite adding the word “Period” at the end, Sméagol Lightfoot went on:

“There should be nothing unambiguous about that. Don’t make us treat you like a criminal. But if you act like a criminal, and you violate the law, and you refuse to do what is necessary to save lives in the city in the middle of a pandemic, we will take you to jail. Period.”

“Don’t make us treat you like a criminal?”  Is that supposed to be a threat? Because given the way criminals are treated in Chicago, I don’t think that’s particularly intimidating. Period.

When it comes to church services and neighborhood parties, Lori Lightfoot likes to crack the whip.

Yes sir.  She’s coming for you, you wayward worshipers and brat-barbecuing baddies!

But if you decide to swarm Grant Park in order to tear down a statue of Christopher Columbus, Tough-Talking Lightfoot isn’t so tough.  In fact, when it comes to the mobs attacking police and vandalizing statues, Lightfoot is a bit of a light touch.  Period.

Odd how these guys don’t get an “unambiguous” “We will shut you down. We will cite you. And if we need to we will arrest you and we will take you to jail.”

Are they not also violating the lockdown? I mean on top of vandalizing property, trying to tear down a statue and attacking the police.

But Lightfoot couldn’t bring herself to lecture them the way she lectured lockdown scofflaws.

Nope. Instead, she reserved her tough-talk for the police.  Period.

What’s the number CPD officers should call when one of these “peaceful protesters” hits them in the head with a brick? Given how things went, I’m thinking that information might be useful.

This is what you get when you treat citizens like criminals and criminals like “peaceful protesters.”

There was one “protest,” however, that prompted a super tough response from the city. And I’m sure it’s just pure coincidence that it was the one that happened in Lori Lightfoot’s neighborhood.

If Chicago sees a surge in COVID cases over the next few weeks, it isn’t going to be from neighborhood parties; it’s going to be the from hundreds upon hundreds of violent idiots gathering in a mass to riot and attack the police.  Period.

Yeah.  De Blasio’s days as America’s Worst Mayor just might be over thanks to this incompetent hot mess.

And the Chicago Police, not to mention law-abiding citizens, are the ones paying the price.

I think we’re zeroing in on why Kayleigh McEneny referred to Lori Lightfoot as the “derelict mayor.”

Cuz she pretty much is. Period.
