This will come as a shock to anyone who actually believes those handwringing articles about the “threat to a free press” and “attacking reporters.”  In coordination with the Biden Campaign, those same handwringing outfits have started Operation Destroy Catherine Herridge.

What is it specifically that Catherine Herridge did to cause these reprobates to launch this attack?

She broke the story on the many Obama Administration folks who requested Mike Flynn’s name be unmasked.

So see if you can follow the bouncing ball.

On the one hand, the news media has gone out of its way over the last two days to assure us that this unmasking report is a non-story, no big deal and really, it happens all the time and why is anyone paying attention to it?!!!

But on the other hand, they are so unnerved by this story that their course of action is to attack Catherine Herridge for having the temerity to, you know, report on it.

Wasn’t it just last week that “journalists” were rushing to defend the honor of Herridge’s CBS News colleague Weijia Jiang after President Trump answered her question about testing by saying, “Don’t ask me; ask China that question.”

Which, apparently, in some alternative wacko universe was a totally racist smear against the poor Asian reporter and Trump is a dictator who is a threat to a free press!!!

It took very little for these so-called “brave firefighters” to rush to Weijia’s aid while she basked in the celebrity that comes with playing the Victim.

And yet.

Catherine Herridge isn’t making herself the story.  She isn’t trying to showboat on camera with a gotcha question.  She isn’t reporting her opinion.  All she did was report the fact that this unmasking document was released.

And for that, those same reporters who rushed to Weijia Jiang’s side as if President Trump had spied on her phone calls and threatened to have her jailed (you know, like President Obama was wont to do), are now attacking Catherine Herridge.

Weijia Jiang’s pretend victimhood they defend.

Catherine Herridge doing her job as a reporter, however, is grounds for attack.

Remember late last year when Martha McSally called CNN’s Manu Raju a “Liberal Hack?”

When that particular Republican on Capitol Hill grew irked with Manu, every single news outlet rallied to his side and railed against the dangerous threat to Press Freedom posed by that monster McSally calling poor victim Manu a “Liberal hack.”

But when Democrats on Capitol Hill grow irked with Catherine Herridge, the news media rushes to protect the Democrats while portraying Herridge as the monster.

Seven years ago, I began calling the “mainstream” news media “the Enslaved Press.”

And this is exactly why.

They willingly relinquished their role as a free and independent press in order to serve as the palace scribes (and palace guards) for the Democrat Party.  They weren’t forced into that role by a tyrannical government. Instead, they happily volunteered to enslave themselves.

They are not Guardians of the Truth.

They are Guardians of the Democrat Party.

And in that role, their mission right now is twofold:

First, they must protect the Democrats’ putative nominee from scrutiny. Even if it means completely destroying the myth of the #MeToo movement or granting the his campaign editorial control over articles.

And second, they must obstruct or delegitimize any investigative reporter who dares to look into the unprecedented surveillance scandal conducted by the Obama Administration. Even if it means coordinating with the Democrats to launch a smear campaign against a fellow reporter who refuses to become enslaved.

There is one even more significant reason the Enslaved Press is willing to go after Catherine Herridge.

Self-preservation.

In March of last year, I wrote “It isn’t just RussiaGate; it’s MediaGate.”

They are complicit in this scandal. And any straight, objective reporting on the ObamaGate revelations could very well expose their complicity.

If you want to know the truth, I’m thinking this self-preservation, more than protecting Biden or Obama’s “legacy,” is the primary motivation behind Operation Destroy Catherine Herridge.
