Wealthy hipster Marxists are funding Bernie’s campaign
Contrary to popular belief, it isn’t the Proletariat who are funding Bernie’s campaign, but the über-wealthy from America’s richest, bluest zip codes.
In his column “Bernie Sanders is Funded by the Wealthiest Zip Codes in America,” Daniel Greenfield did a little research into Bernie Sanders’ campaign contributions and discovered that Bernie 2020 isn’t being fueled by the proletariat. These donors are affluent Big Tech people and hipster Marxists.
Why am I not surprised?
These hipster Marxists are affluent, well-educated (and by that I mean have a lot of college, not necessarily a lot of knowledge) and are concentrated in some of the bluest zip codes in the nation.
What do Bernie’s top donor zip codes have in common? Beyond wealth, Bernie’s cash flow is coming from a handful of very blue cities, almost all of them in California and New York City. Only two of the top ten zip codes are located outside San Francisco, Los Angeles, and New York City. That alone conveys the insular and unrepresentative nature of Bernie’s funding base compared to the rest of the country.
Bernie’s campaign is powered by the very concentrations of power and wealth that he condemns.
What pampered, privileged lives these hipster Marxists lead.
So while Bernie portrays himself as the candidate of the downtrodden, in reality, his campaign relies almost exclusively on money from people whose lives are going along swimmingly.
He’s the candidate of class warfare, not on behalf of the poor, but of young wealthy people seeking more power and influence at the expense of the more established wealth of an older generation. It’s tech industry bros warring for influence with fossil fuel titans, not for the poor, but for themselves.
Bernie’s base is much less than 1%. Call it the 0.001%. A wealthy and influential young lefty elite with disproportionate influence over the internet is setting the nation’s agenda using digital media, tech dominance, and the Weekend at Bernie’s campaign of a senile socialist who barely knows where he is and won’t release his medical records after a heart attack because they will show he’s barely there.
When you live in the richest, most prosperous, upwardly-mobile society on the planet, Marxism is trendy and hip – not to mention entirely risk-free.
These hipster Marxists don’t see the downside because they truly believe Bernie’s brand of Woke Socialism will be their ticket to power.
They won’t be the ones suffering under onerous regulations, crippling taxes, exploding debt, one size fits all “healthcare,” and Third World economic ruin. Instead, they will be the new elite.
When the gulags come, they won’t be the ones herded inside like cattle.
They won’t be the ones standing in breadlines waiting for their allotment of food.
No. These hipster Marxists expect to have the best of everything.
Their children will enjoy a quality, expensive education while the masses are crowded into crumbling public schools.
These hipster Marxists will have their pick of the best doctors money can buy while the masses sit for hours in crowded clinic waiting rooms hoping to see one of the poorly-paid, overworked healthcare workers the government assigned there.
And all the hapless, naïve fools who believe these hipster Marxists will usher in a Worker’s Paradise where gender fluidity and Woke Dogma reign supreme are nothing more than useful idiots. Their lives and fortunes won’t improve. Not one bit.
They’ll be nothing but sheep – shuffled and herded here and there at the whim of those in power.
And by the time these useful idiots realize they were lied to, there won’t be a damn thing they can do to change it.
By then, the once shining city on a hill, this great Beacon of Liberty, will be nothing more than another failed totalitarian state where those in power amass great wealth and the rest of us live in squalor.
You know, just like Bernie’s beloved Cuba.
