Welp, who’d a thunk it?
NBC’s soon-to-be former host of “Meet the Press,” Chuck Todd, has sent pigs aloft with his admission that Texas Gov. Greg Abbott was right when he predicted that Democrat-run cities would ultimately throw Joe Biden under the bus [pun intended] as more and more illegal aliens were shipped to their cities.
On Wednesday’s episode of “Meet the Press Now,” the usually-condescending host did a segment on Democrat officials in New York and Massachusetts losing their crap and demanding federal help (taxpayer money, of course) from the Biden administration due to the influx of illegals in their respective areas — an unintended consequence, as it were — as the Biden Border Crisis rages on, with no end in sight.
The hypocrisy of the Democrat Party couldn’t be more ironic.
Democrats have supported the illegal alien invasion of America since Day One of Biden’s miserably-failed open-border policy — every bit of it intentionally so. Yet, from Martha’s Vineyard to Kamala Harris’s official residence to New York City, Chicago, and beyond, Democrat officials continue to howl at the moon over each busload of illegals that arrives.
BTW, El Paso, Texas, just called and told New York City to “hold my beer.”
Anyway, here’s Chuck Todd as he teased the then-upcoming segment:
I guess Greg Abbott was right when he said, once he got blue cities to deal with this, that they would be very upset at the federal government. There’s a lot of background to this story and it — the Governor of Texas had been complaining about the administration not helping for months, and he said, well, I’m going to start sending these migrants to blue states, maybe they’ll get some action. He’s turned out to be right about this that he knew that other governors — it didn’t matter; Democrat or Republican — would also feel burdened by this. And sure enough, here we are.
Not to be snarky, Chuck, but the above dots, as you laid them out, should have been — and continue to be —easily connected by anyone with a modicum of reason.
And, Chuck? If the circumstances were reversed — Republican mayors and other GOP officials moaning like NYC Mayor Eric Adams, Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson, and others — you and your left-wing pals in the sock-puppet media would be all over them like Hunter Biden on crack — and you know it.
Hypocrisy on Full Display
As we reported in late July, Adams is now sending representatives to border-crossing locations and distributing flyers that suggest New York is not an ideal destination for illegals — despite the fact that NYC is a so-called “sanctuary city.”
In another example, Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson said in an August 2 press conference that he was “considering” sending illegals to Chicago-area suburbs. “We see some real support on the horizon,” Johnson said, with respect to suburban destinations for the thousands of illegals that have descended on the Windy City in recent months.
Again, from El Paso: “Hold my beer.”
It Gets ‘Better’
During an afternoon press conference at the Massachusetts state house on Wednesday, Democrat Gov. Maura Healey declared a state of emergency following an influx of thousands of illegal aliens that have pushed social services across the blue state to a “breaking point.”
As we reported in December 2022, El Paso Democrat Mayor Oscar Leeser declared a state of emergency, saying his city was no longer safe, having seen a massive illegal alien surge since August (2022). Leeser predicted the surge would only worsen when the number of illegal aliens entering the city would soon go from 2,500 a day to “4,000, 5,000, maybe 6,000.”
The population of El Paso is roughly 680 thousand. In comparison, the population of NYC exceeds 8.5 million, with Chicago at more than 2. 7 million. Yet, where were Adams, Johnson, and other big-city Democrats when El Paso and border towns began to be overrun?
Crickets, of course — proving yet again the blatant hypocrisy of the “What’s good for thee isn’t good for me” Democrat Party.
