In August 2021, under the ever unfolding nightmare of crime under woke Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón, a mother and her baby were almost mowed down by a teenage driver who was high on drugs, and purposely aimed his moving car at them. This teenage driver was not only out on parole for a prior crime, but under Gascón’s soft-on-crime policies, he only received a 5-month sentence in a “diversionary program” … whatever that means.
My colleague Bob Hoge reported on this joke of a sentence.
A Los Angeles teen convicted of plowing a car into a mother and her 8-month-old son in a drug-fueled hit-and-run will spend just five months in a “diversionary program” thanks to soft on crime LA County District Attorney George Gascon. The teen’s record will reportedly be wiped clean when he turns 18.
That’s not justice, that’s a joke.
The 16-year-old driver was driving down a one-way street in the wrong direction in Venice, California when he appeared to rev his engine and purposely aim the car at the victims in the shocking August, 2021 crime. He then tried to drive away from the scene but was stopped when a pickup truck purposefully crashed into his car, forcing him into a pole. (No word on who the apparent Good Samaritan was.)
Luckily both the mother Rachel and her baby Charlie survived the vicious, apparently random, attack.
Bob also reported on Fox News correspondent Bill Melugin’s uncovering of the delinquent’s probationary status.
Fox News’s Bill Melugin reported Sunday that the teen driver who received a light sentence after his drug-fueled car attack on a mother and her baby was on parole and was actually violating it at the time of the attack.
“Per multiple law enforcement sources, the juvie was on probation, & violating it, at the time of this hit & run, and he had been previously convicted of felony poisoning after he spiked a teen girl’s drink at Palmdale high school in 2019. She was hospitalized.”
This is no teen angel who made a bad choice. He poisoned a girl so badly she had to be hospitalized, and now has run over two innocent victims who are incredibly lucky to be alive. This is a dangerous psychopath who should be behind bars.
This new revelation is sure to provoke further outrage.
It did, but this is Los Angeles, so any outcry against the insanity is akin to screaming into the void. The mother Rachel said she voted for Gascón because she believed in his “criminal justice reform.” But Rachel was so outraged that she took to “Tucker Carlson Tonight” to voice her displeasure:
“It sends messages to criminals that it’s okay to do bad things, because we are not going to punish you, we will punish the victims instead,” she said.
She continued, “I’m just beside myself with the comments that [Gascon] has come out with on Twitter citing that California law says that the punishment is fair, when in fact it is his policies that he put in a place that prevents us from getting appropriate justice.”
Street justice seems to be about the only justice that is working in Los Angeles these days. Whether it was that, or divine retribution, either way it came calling for this deranged young man.
From Fox News:
A Los Angeles 17-year-old who ran over a mother walking her baby in a stroller in 2021 and received just a few months of diversionary camp as punishment was gunned down in Palmdale, California, this week.
Kristopher Baca, whom Fox News Digital has previously not identified due to his youth, pleaded guilty to the hit-and-run last year.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s office confirmed his death Friday but said the examination was still pending.
Deputies found him dead with gunshot wounds in a Palmdale driveway on the 83600 block of 11th Street East on Wednesday evening, according to the sheriff’s office.
Sources close to the investigation said he had been at a fast food restaurant earlier trying to “get with a girl.”
As he walked home alone, a car pulled up next to him and an argument broke out. Someone in the vehicle opened fire, then sped off.
The mother Rachel, who like many, has absconded Los Angeles County to get away from Gascón and his policies, was interviewed by Fox News Digital after news of Baca’s murder. Rachel voiced what any normal person would be thinking.
She told Fox News Digital on Friday that her husband was out of town when she heard the news, and she had to mull it over alone. She said she was both relieved and saddened by the news.
“The universe delivered the justice we weren’t given in court, but a much harsher punishment than he’d have been dealt in a court of law,” she said.
Boom.
Or as my mother used to say, “Good riddance to bad rubbish.”
