Hillary Clinton's Campaign Manager Testifies That She 'Agreed With' Leaking False Alfa Bank Story to Reporter

Bonchie reporting for RedState

John Durham’s prosecution of Michael Sussmann continues apace, and there have already been some noteworthy revelations from the trial.

On Friday, Robby Mook testified and confirmed what many people have suspected for years. Namely, that Hillary Clinton was not an innocent bystander in her campaign’s attempt to spread fake information about Donald Trump and Russia. While Clinton and her lackeys have long tried to present her as above the fray, Mook admitted that the twice-failed presidential candidate signed off on the dissemination of the false Alfa Bank story.

Fox News provides this write-up.

He also said he discussed whether to give the information to a reporter with senior campaign officials, including campaign chairman John Podesta, senior policy advisor, now White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan, and communications director Jennifer Palmieri.

“I discussed it with Hillary as well,” Mook said.

“I don’t remember the substance of the conversation, but notionally, the discussion was, hey, we have this and we want to share it with a reporter,” Mook said.

“She agreed with that,” Mook testified, directly linking Clinton to the Alfa Bank story for what I believe is the first time. While she had spread the story during the 2016 election, including on social media, she did so while pretending she had gotten the news from the media and not her campaign. We now know that framing was a lie.

Past that, ascertaining how that relates to the Alfa Bank story also being brought to the FBI is a question left to be answered, and one I’m sure Durham will be more than happy to drill down on as the trial moves forward. It seems improbable that Clinton wouldn’t have been part of that decision-making process as well. Remember, this is a woman who always believes she’s the smartest person in the room, and she’s a notorious control freak. If she approved the story going to the media, you can bet she knew about it being brought to the FBI.

What this all adds up to is a conspiracy to influence the election with false information (probably not criminal) as well as a conspiracy to push false information to the FBI and DOJ (which is almost certainly criminal). Sussmann is the current fall guy, but he clearly didn’t act alone, and I think Durham will prove that. If he secures a conviction regarding this case, there are several more people in line that were part of the conspiracy, including Clinton herself. Sussmann is the first shoe to drop because he’s the closest link to the FBI. Now, you can expect Durham to start working backward.

Still, I’m skeptical Clinton is ever touched simply because Washington elites are never touched. Here’s to being pleasantly surprised.
