Democrats seized control of both chambers of Congress, Texas experienced a stunning political shift, and voters in Michigan and across the country delivered results that few conservatives would have hoped to see.
The outcomes were deeply disappointing, and the consequences for our nation's future cannot be ignored.
But amid the setbacks, there were victories worth celebrating.
In Florida, conservatives held the governor's mansion and U.S. Senate seat, while voters approved significant property tax relief. In Idaho, voters rejected an effort to expand abortion rights. And in Arkansas and Alaska, voters approved measures affirming that only American citizens should be permitted to vote.
These victories remind us that the values and freedoms we cherish are worth defending, regardless of the political climate.
And if this election made anything clear, it's that the fight for our country's future doesn't begin or end at the ballot box.
The political movements, institutional changes, and cultural shifts that shape our nation develop over years, often far from the scrutiny of the national press.
That's why The Federalist has been expanding our reporting efforts in states like Texas and Michigan, including our coverage of the growth of Islamic political activism in Texas and extremist rhetoric and taxpayer funding involving certain institutions in Michigan.
There will be plenty of debate over what went wrong for Republicans this election. But while the political establishment points fingers and the corporate media pushes its preferred narratives, The Federalist will remain focused on following the facts, asking hard questions, and uncovering truths that might otherwise go unnoticed.
