Young, Angry Leftist Women are Destroying Britain and America
Women feel profoundly unhappy, distrust men, loathe their country, and view motherhood as optional at best.

Joseph Ford Cotto for American Thinker
A young woman sits in a comfortable London flat or a sleek New York apartment, scrolling her feed and convinced the world is rigged against her.
She holds a university degree, earns a solid paycheck, and enjoys better workplace opportunities than her male peers at the same age. Yet she feels profoundly unhappy, distrusts men, loathes her country, and views motherhood as optional at best.
This is not isolated frustration. It is a clear pattern repeating across Britain and America. The data expose a growing electoral force whose real motivations threaten the long-term survival of first-world nations.
Merlin Strategy, for the left-leaning New Statesman, polled2,000 British adults aged 18 to 30. The results overturn the usual story.
The widening gender gap among the young comes far more from women moving sharply left than from men turning right. Among men under 30, 72 percent hold a positive view of women. Among women under 30, only 50 percent feel positive toward men, and the figure drops to 35 percent among women under 25.
Just 18 percent of women under 30 feel very positive about men, compared with 38 percent of men who feel very positive about women. More than 40 percent of young women say men do not share their understanding of consent, while only 25 percent of men say the same about women.
These attitudes shape daily choices.
Young women are twice as likely as young men to say they do not want children: 15 percent versus 8 percent. Among white women under 30 the number rises to 20 percent. One in four young women call differing political views a red flag in a partner. Sixty percent would struggle to date someone who disagrees on Israel-Palestine or on Donald Trump. Seventy-four percent say they could not stay with someone who rejects their views on social justice.
Young women also show greater reluctance than men to date across differences on immigration. Economically the divide grows sharper.
Young women give capitalism a net favorability of just +2, while communism scores +11. Young men rate capitalism at +28. On wealth redistribution, 43 percent of young women say it is unfair that some have more and wealth should be taken, versus 40 percent who say people deserve to keep what they earn. Young men split 37 percent in favor and 51 percent against.
Young women are more likely to believe the economy works against people like them. Yet among 16- to 24-year-olds, women hold more full-time jobs and earn 9 percent more on average than men, while male youth unemployment sits 6.3 percentage points higher.
The pessimism cuts deepest.
Young women report lower happiness, ambition, excitement, and fulfillment than young men. They are 21 points less optimistic than men about earning more than their parents and 19 points less optimistic about buying the home they want. Only 53 percent of Gen Z women say they are proud to call themselves British, compared with 68 percent of Gen Z men. Forty-three percent of young women call Britain a racist country, versus 29 percent of young men.
Class and education make the pattern unmistakable.
Affluent, higher-educated women prove the most left-wing and most pessimistic. They back communism, feminism, environmentalism, socialism, slavery reparations, and the view that the U.K. is racist or sexist. Only 41 percent feel proud to be British, against 57 percent of working-class women.
White-collar women feel less valued by society, hold more negative views of capitalism and men, and insist the system is stacked against them. Working-class women feel happier, more ambitious, more fulfilled, and more certain that hard work leads to success.
American data mirror the same trend.
Among Americans aged 18 to 29, 40 percent of young women identify as liberal compared with roughly 25 percent of young men. In 2023, 56 percent of young women aged 18 to 29 identified as Democrats or leaned Democratic, versus 38 percent of young men.
The human cost is clear.
In the 2024 American Family Survey conducted by YouGov for the Deseret News, only 12 percent of liberal women aged 18 to 40 said they were completely satisfied with their lives, compared with 37 percent of conservative women. Liberal women were two to three times more likely to say they were not satisfied.
A 2020 Pew Research Center survey found that 56 percent of white liberal women aged 18 to 29 reported a mental health diagnosis, roughly double the rate for conservative women the same age. Columbia University researchers found that, from 2005 to 2018, depressive symptoms rose most sharply among female liberal adolescents.
The 2022 Cooperative Election Study revealedconservatives outnumbered liberals among those reporting excellent mental health, while liberals dominated poor mental health reports. Conservative women scored higher on happiness. The same 2024 American Family Survey found liberal women nearly three times as likely as conservative women to feel lonely several times a week.
At root these women are not pursuing genuine political altruism for the working class or the nation.
Their ideology functions as sophisticated armor for extreme self-absorption. It excuses personal unhappiness. It shields them from accountability for delayed or rejected motherhood, unrealistic dating standards, and refusal to compromise with ordinary men. It reframes their discontent as proof of systemic oppression rather than the predictable result of their own choices and worldview.
They push redistribution, reparations, DEI mandates, and state protection not mainly to help others but to build a low-risk emotional shelter where career validation and grievance come first, buffered from real market consequences or family trade-offs. They demand constant affirmation that patriarchy, racism, or capitalism explains their alienation, not personal agency or backfired decisions.
In practice this means aggressive government to silence dissent, subsidize their preferences, and dismantle structures that demand resilience, family formation, or national loyalty. Today's yuppie women are the most miserable because their ideology rewards endless scanning for injustice and external blame while punishing grounded realism.
As this demographic gains real power — young UK women flooding toward the Greens, young US women solidly Democratic and left — their demands lock in stagnation.
Heavy taxation and regulation choke growth. Identity politics and censorship erode merit and free speech. Softer policing risks lives while anti-patriotic sentiment rips the social fabric. Family breakdown and gender alienation accelerate as men disengage.
The outcome is slower GDP growth, governmental dysfunction, declining innovation, and ripe opportunities for pragmatic competitors such as East Asia that still reward competence and realism.
These young leftist women represent a massive threat to first-world nationhood. Their ideology is not an altruistic project for society. It is a self-destructive coping mechanism that hollows out the high-trust, high-growth foundations which foster success.
When it gains control it produces demographic suicide, cultural pessimism, and economic malaise. The data leave no room for doubt. A political plague is spreading, and the nations that continue to indulge it will pay dearly in lost prosperity, fractured families, and diminished standing in the world.
The warning signs flash brightly. Ignoring them will not spare the consequences.
Far too many young women in Britain and America do not seek a better society. They demand a world that shields their unhappiness and calls it justice. The nations that surrender to them will not survive.
