A shooter is dead after opening fire around 2:30 p.m. at an Idaho sheriff’s office on Friday.
The shooter who injured an officer and two women hasn’t been publicly named, although there are unconfirmed reports.
The gunman in the December 26, 2025, shooting at the Shoshone County Sheriff's Office in Wallace, Idaho, has been identified as John Drake, a 77-year-old local resident (reportedly from nearby Mullan, Idaho, in some local coverage). His wife’s FB account is very TDS lefty and there’s a John Drake X account that is aggressively anti-Trump. The X account has no new tweets in the past 48 hours.
Wallace, Idaho, is the county seat of Shoshone County.
