Here’s How the Left Is Going to Lie to Voters Ahead of November

Have you heard the news? President Senile Kid-Sniffer issued an executive order on the border, action meant to seal the border when the number of illegal aliens (that’s what they are, not “migrants,” so stop using the language of the left) reaches an arbitrary total. Of course, what counts in that total is completely at the discretion of the President, thereby making it meaningless. But that’s the point, and other liberals are playing their role in this kabuki theater perfectly.

You have to be a special kind of stupid to think Joe Biden, or any Democrat for that matter, would do anything to secure the border. They started the world’s most self-destructive game of red rover deliberately in an attempt to flood the country with future Democrat voters, and they aren’t about to stop it now.

To say they don’t care about the border is an understatement. They don’t care about the death and destruction an open border has brought north, there’s a good chance those people weren’t going to vote for them anyway. They only junkie they have compassion for is Hunter Biden, and only through the election, otherwise they care about as much as you’d expect any enabler to care, which is not at all.

So, if it does nothing, why did Joe do what he did? Easy, so Democrats could complain about it.

Even though it’s toothless and won’t stop anything – the Biden gang is flying in 30,000 illegals daily, as well as not counting kids or anyone they feel has a case to make for asylum (which is none, legally, unless they’re from Mexico or Canada) – the truth is not being used to sell it. In fact, nothing is being used to sell it. Biden made a statement (if you saw it, it’s doubtful it would pass as a proof of life video in a hostage negotiation) and will likely not talk about it again, unless asked.

Why? Because, even though the “actions” he took are meaningless, they have to be sold to the 5-7 percent of swing voters who will decide this election as though they’re tough and will bring order to the chaos Democrats created.

With that in mind, Democrats of note have to whine about it to sell it to those people. Joe has to be seen as doing “something” that upsets the people who love open borders. His base knows it’s a lie, we know it’s a lie, but the people who don’t pay attention to the news might not, and that’s what it’s all about.

Former Housing and Urban Development Secretary under Barack Obama, Julian Castro, played this game on Twitter. He wrote Biden has “consistently avoided the issue of immigration when he could, seeing it as just a political liability. Totally playing defense only. The result? Trump and the Stephen Miller crowd moved the Overton window. Now Biden is taking actions that he campaigned against just four years ago.”

See, Joe has gone hardcore…just not in any way that actually does anything.

Castro continued, “Meanwhile, Biden has done little to move the country or the Congress toward immigration reform that would benefit Dreamers, their parents and other vulnerable immigrants, or even to revamp the legal immigration system to reflect the values we espouse as Democrats.”

The voters who are concerned with the mess at the border could easily read stories about Castro’s comments, or any of the other similar comments from leftists and think Biden has done something good. The media will ignore Republicans pointing out how the action literally does nothing, focusing on how radicals are upset. That will give the impression that the problem – one of the top issues for voters – has been addressed by the President.

People who weren’t going to vote for Joe because of him failure at the border will not be open to the prospect of supporting him. Not all, but some, and to win this election you only need some.

This is what we are up against, and what the GOP has to message against. It’s not enough to have Donald Trump say this, there needs to be an advertising campaign designed expressly for deprogramming the lies the left tells people. It can’t exaggerate, it has to just state exactly how it is.

When the truth is on your side, simply tell it. That’s all Republicans have to do on this issue. It’s the exact reason Democrats do not, and cannot, do the same.

America Can Choose to Be Great Again

America is not over, no matter how dire everything looks. And it is dire – we’re becoming an impotent and impoverished banana republic that is pushed around by foreign scumbags overseas and perverts, crooks, and commies here at home. When you look at the depths into which our country has fallen, you have to wonder whether we Americans can ever rise to the occasion again. Is there greatness still within us? Can we ever be great again?

Hell yeah.

We are the inheritors of a legacy of greatness. This is the 80th anniversary of D-Day, and if you’ve seen Saving Private Ryan, you have an idea of what it looked like on the French beaches on June 6, 1944. Here is a first-hand account written by an Army officer who landed that morning. They charged ashore against complex defensive positions covered by mortars and deadly MG42 machine guns. And they prevailed. Keep in mind those Americans, in both regular Army and National Guard divisions, were almost all civilians just two or three years before. Not pros – regular folks who were called, answered and rose to the occasion. They went up against a German army that had conquered most of Europe and had five years of war experience. And they kicked National Socialist butt.

That’s greatness.

But is there still greatness within us? Can we kick other kinds of socialist butt too?

The cynics say “No,” and it would be a lie to pretend that they have no evidence. After all, you look at the Greatest Generation and what they did to save the world from socialism in various forms and beat the Depression, and then you look at the next generation and how they put a man on the moon, gave us the 80s, and beat the socialists in the Cold War, and then you look with disgust at this generation and the best it can do is COVID panic, DEI, and resurrected socialism.

Let’s face it. America under Biden and the Democrats – who are not just flirting with the socialists but are jumping in the shower with them like Joe Biden and his daughter – is a pretty miserable place. The rule of law is in ruins, with Mad Libs prosecutions of Republicans while Democrat constituent criminals run rampant. Inflation has crushed normal people – I drove to Wendy’s on six dollars a gallon gas the other day, got a couple of burgers, fries, and a Coke, and it cost me $34. Weirdos are hailed as heroes – Happy Pride Month! You must celebrate and validate the two-spirit trans-furry experience. We suck up to enemies like Iran and screw over our few remaining friends like Israel. I’m almost as excited about paying to rebuild Gaza for the Palestinians as I am paying off the loans of purple-haired gender studies majors from the University of College.

Our institutions, under this garbage ruling class’s leadership, have uniformly failed, from the military to Hollywood to the government. We’re being led by President Pinocchio, a perv with a 5-foot nose who hopes that someday he will magically turn into a real chief executive. We have one political party trying to put the leader of the other in jail because they can’t beat him fair and square. They want to put you in jail, too. Some socialist scumbags set fire to a cop car and got 15 months in jail, while a 75-year-old lady tried to keep people from killing babies and got two years. They want to destroy the Supreme Court. They want to outlaw your free speech. They want to impose a racial spoil system where if your relatives came from north of the equator, and you know which bathroom to pee in, you are foreclosed from any position of authority or prestige. Our country is poorer, dumber, and, to judge by the Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition, fatter and uglier than ever before.

That’s not the America we grew up thinking we would inherit. The promise of America has been broken. But do we need to just accept that and resign ourselves to failure?

No. We know things can improve because we have seen it. America is not stuck with a one-way ratchet ever moving toward greater failures. We can turn it around. Ronald Reagan turned it around after Jimmy “At Least I Was Not As Bad As Biden” Carter. Rudy Guliani made grimy, crimey NYC a great city again. Even under intense fire, Trump made us prosperous again – for a while.

We can do it, but do we have the will? Each of us has to answer a question—are we just going to give up? Are we just going to pull away and hide in a little tiny community somewhere and hope that the coming commissars overlook us? Do we believe that Americans are no longer Americans?

I don’t. I don’t buy that crap at all. We’re pretty far down the road to chaos and dystopia, but that doesn’t mean we can’t pull a U-turn. You are never defeated until you’re defeated. It isn’t over until you quit. Nothing is over. As all-American hero Bluto Blutarsky asked of his fraternity brothers, “Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?” No, we can be America again – including making great movies!

Is there still courage and strength in Americans? Do we measure up to our forefathers? Yes. Let me tell you a story.

I was asked to represent the family of one of the Marines killed by Biden and his Pentagon’s shameful incompetence in Kabul, and I have permission to discuss it. I was present (with another lawyer and ex-colonel/battalion commander) when the Marine Corps sent a colonel out to brief the family on the investigation findings. That briefing differed from later testimony and revelations in key ways, but that’s not the issue here. What is important here is what those young Americans did.

They never backed off. They were courageous. They were heroes.

They were placed in a totally disastrous and unnecessarily dangerous position right up next to unvetted Afghan nationals. Their senior leaders failed them by failing to prepare for what became a rout (read about it here), but they never wavered. They never faltered. They performed their mission with incredible courage right up to the bombing. And there is drone footage of the Marines’ reaction right after the attack – textbook stuff. No one ran. No one panicked. They moved to secure the area and evacuate the wounded. None of the dead were commissioned officers, and I found that sketchy. I asked and got the right answer. The platoon leader was wounded. The company commander was wounded. The battalion commander was wounded. That meant they were upfront, leading, not in some bunker.

Yeah, Americans are still great. Greatness is still within us. And this fall, I say we choose to make America great again.

Surge of Chinese Illegal Immigrants at Southern Border Presents National Security Threat

Ward Clark reporting for RedState

It's been obvious to anyone conversant with geopolitics and international affairs that the United States' non-existent southern border presents a major national security threat. From Roman times until today, a nation that has not controlled its borders has, in time, found itself overrun. To quote a famous movie character, in this world, there are walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with guns.

We're not doing that very well (a case could be made that we're not doing it at all), and now, in the latest development, a group of GOP lawmakers are concerned about the number of Chinese nationals crossing into the United States illegally.

A group of Republican lawmakers is warning the Biden administration about a rise in Chinese nationals coming across the southern border, claiming it proves their "worst fears" about what they see as a weakening of enforcement under the administration.

The 20 lawmakers, led by Rep. Bob Good, R-Va., highlights "the dramatic rise in encounters at our nation’s borders with individuals on the Terrorist Screening Data Set (TSDS) and the unprecedented, otherwise unexplained rise in Chinese nationals – largely adult males – crossing illegally."

"These developments prove our worst fears: the weakening of our borders and willful lack of enforcement of immigration laws has encouraged America’s adversaries to exploit this national security vulnerability," they say.

Is it necessary to point out that American-Chinese relations aren't exactly at their best at the moment?

When discussing illegal immigration and the open sore that is our national border, it's common to talk about culture, about the wage-depressing effect of a sudden influx of cheap labor, of the criminals in the ranks of these pouring in. Those are all legitimate points — but so is the national security threat posed by this failure on the part of the Biden administration.

If one was a nefarious actor who wanted to infiltrate a bunch of people into the United States, a bunch of people who arrive unidentified, unscreened, and largely unknown, this would be precisely how one would go about it — and under the Biden administration's non-existent border policies, this is also the perfect time to do it.

It's not just people from China, either.

Shortly after midnight on May 18, a Boeing 777 operated by the Libyan airline Ghadames Air took off from Benina International Airport in Benghazi, the largest city in eastern Libya and landed 14 hours later at an airport in Managua, the capital of Nicaragua. According to the Nicaraguan television channel 100% Noticias, 367 passengers of Indian nationality were on board. On May 23, the same aircraft made the same flight with 298 Indians. All intended to continue on to the US.

Earlier, on February 28 and March 14, two similar flights left the Libyan capital, Tripoli; no information about the passengers' nationalities has been disclosed. When contacted, neither the Nicaraguan Ministry of Foreign Affairs nor the country's airport authorities responded to Le Monde's inquiries about what appears to be the opening of a new route to the US border for undocumented immigrants.

Libya, we might point out, is likewise not friendly to the United States. Neither is Daniel Ortega's Nicaragua. India is a U.S. ally, but how many people from other parts of the Middle East are on these flights? Are there any from, say, Syria — or Iran? There is, as noted, no information forthcoming from these flights.

This is a serious matter of national security. As I have been pointing out, and I think I have already worn out at least two keyboards doing so, we have no idea who many of these people are, where they are going, or what they intend to do when they get there. We do know that many of them have come from regions not friendly to the United States — and sooner or later, all this is going to catch up with us.

My Townhall colleague and fellow U.S. Army veteran Kurt Schlichter has penned a chilling work on how all this may play out. It's not a read for the faint-hearted. But if we are to prevent such an event, controlling our borders and deporting the people who are here illegally would be a good start.

One of the reasons for the fall of Rome is proposed to be their failure to control their borders. As proposed by Peter Heather in his book "The Fall of the Roman Empire," Rome had for hundreds of years welcomed immigrants but had insisted they assimilate; but that final wave, out of Germania, retained their Germanic cultural and ethnic identity, established themselves in enclaves within the Empire, and eventually built armies of their own that the weakened Rome, much of whose military was away from Rome fighting in Persia, was not able to withstand. Sound familiar?

History, as the saying goes, may not repeat, but it frequently rhymes.

No, Hunter Biden’s Trial Does Not Exonerate America’s Two-Tiered Justice System

Even now, with Hunter Biden in the heat of trial, the contrast between his treatment and Donald Trump’s couldn’t be sharper.

Hunter Biden trial shows America’s justice system isn’t so rigged after all,” a CNN headline proclaimed following the start of the criminal gun case against the president’s son. To the left-wing outlet, there is a cognitive dissonance between raging over Donald Trump’s conviction and applauding the prosecution of Hunter Biden. In truth, the disparate handling of the two cases confirms the righteousness of Americans’ umbrage over the get-Trump prosecutions.

One obvious difference between the criminal cases of Donald Trump and Hunter Biden concerns the involvement of politically motivated investigators and prosecutors. Both the Manhattan prosecutor, Alvin Bragg, and Fulton County DA Fani Willis are card-carrying Democrats who became party favorites by targeting Donald Trump. Biden-appointed Attorney General Merrick Garland named Jack Smith as special counsel to prosecute Donald Trump and did so only after the president complained about Garland’s so-called deliberative approach, while “confid[ing] to his inner circle that he believed former President Donald J. Trump was a threat to democracy and should be prosecuted.”

Special Counsel Smith in turn brought on Michael Dreeben to help lead the prosecution of Trump. Dreeban had previously targeted Trump as part of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s team. Later, Dreeban would join the team of Democrat Manhattan District Attorney Cy Vance, Alvin Bragg’s predecessor. While working for Vance, Dreeban successfully obtained access to Trump’s taxes and related financial records. And according to New York Magazine, Dreeben was part of a key group of former Mueller prosecutors Vance brought in to figure out ways to politically prosecute Trump.

Smith wasn’t the only one to stack his legal team with anti-Trumpers. Both Vance and Bragg brought on Biden-connected lawyers to work exclusively on the Trump investigation in Manhattan, first from the “Biden-Era N.Y. Power Center” law firm of Paul, Weiss, and later from the Biden administration’s Department of Justice. At least three career prosecutors in the Manhattan DA’s office asked to be removed from the investigation of Trump, reportedly over concerns about the handling of the investigation.

In contrast, it was career investigators who worked the Hunter Biden investigation, and political appointees and D.C. bureaucrats who mucked up their case. As IRS Supervisory Special Agent Gary Shapley testified, the DOJ and its tax division gave special treatment to Hunter Biden and had conflicts of interest throughout that important investigation.

While David Weiss was a Trump-appointed U.S. attorney, he nonetheless answered to Biden’s DOJ and needed cooperation from other Biden-appointed U.S. attorneys to bring charges in other districts. When they refused, the most serious charges against Hunter lapsed, forever barred by the statute of limitations.

In contrast, the Manhattan DA’s office breathed new life into what would have been time-barred misdemeanors of making false business records. The five-year statute of limitations for those offenses had already passed, leading the Democrat DA to charge Trump with falsifying business records to conceal another crime, which was a felony subject to a longer statute of limitations.

Not only did the Manhattan DA concoct a crime to avoid the statute of limitations and charge Trump, but Bragg turned what would have been a run-of-the-mill misdemeanor into a felony. In contrast, until a federal judge questioned the propriety of the plea bargain the government had struck with Hunter Biden, the prosecutors had given the president’s son a pass on several felony charges. The sweetheart deal gifted to Hunter allowed him to plead guilty to two misdemeanor tax offenses and completely avoid any felony tax or gun charges.

However, when it came time for Hunter to enter his guilty plea, Judge Maryellen Noreika quizzed the parties on the unusual plea agreement. Could the government use a pretrial diversion agreement to memorialize the federal government’s commitment not to charge Hunter Biden for other crimes? Federal prosecutors acknowledged that they had never seen a deal crafted in quite this way before.

While prosecutors were willing to push through the aberration of a plea deal for the president’s son, Judge Noreika asked for further briefing. The deal then fell through, resulting in Weiss’s office obtaining a grand-jury indictment on both the gun and tax charges. Those charges, however, were not the result of a get-Biden effort but the consequences of the failure of their let-Biden-off plan.

Even now, with Hunter in the heat of trial, the contrast couldn’t be sharper. Judge Noreika is running a methodical trial, keeping the focus on the charged crimes. And while the laptop has been shown to the jury and some material from the hard drive has been entered into evidence, none of the salacious material from the laptop is being paraded before the jury.

Trump’s jury, on the other hand, heard Stormy Daniels’ irrelevant and graphic testimony of her supposed sexual encounter with the former president. Ruling upon ruling by the Manhattan judge came down against Trump, which isn’t surprising given the judge donated to Joe Biden’s presidential campaign and his daughter fundraises off the trial for Democrat candidates.

For all these differences, there is one similarity between the current trial of Hunter Biden in Wilmington, Delaware, and Trump’s just-ended Manhattan trial: the political predilections of the jury pool. In 2020, Biden won Manhattan by 84.5 percent to Trump’s 14.5 percent, with the breakdown in Wilmington slightly higher at 87 percent for Biden, to Trump’s not-even 12 percent. This similarity, though, may soon provide the final proof of the two-tiered system of justice — by acquitting the president’s son.

Watch Sen Kennedy Go There, Grilling Wray About Those Important Epstein Names

Nick Arama reporting for RedState

FBI Director Christopher Wray testified before a Senate Appropriations subcommittee in regard to his yearly budget request on Wednesday..

They are so many problematic issues that have come out about the FBI over the past few years. If Wray thought he was going to come and just get to propound on how he wants money, he would have been sadly mistaken. But yes, he wanted money: $11.3 billion for fiscal year 2025, including $661 million more than 2023.

I'm thinking that there was one question he didn't think he was going to get.

But Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) went there. He said they know Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell "were engaged in a conspiracy of sex trafficking with minors."

"So were others," Kennedy continued. "What's the FBI doing to investigate the other people that were involved in these sex trafficking rings?"

Wray stammered and said he wasn't sure he could confirm anything.

Kennedy noted that it's been reported that "Jeffrey Epstein had video surveillance in all of his homes and on his private island." Kennedy said that Epstein "videotaped sex acts with prominent people....with young girls that he had procured," in order to be able to curry favor with them and potentially blackmail them.

"Do you have those tapes?" Kennedy asked.

Wray said he wasn't sure that he could comment on anything. Which is to say, they still refuse to say they're doing anything. Chances then that they are doing anything? Chances of hell freezing over, probably.

Kennedy mentioned that a lawsuit had just been filed by someone, against someone alleged to be one of the "prominent people."

He appeared to have been referring to this:

A former model and Jeffrey Epstein accuser is now alleging that prominent psychiatrist Henry Jarecki was a pal of the disgraced financier who raped her rather than treat her complaints of depression, according to a new lawsuit filed in federal court in New York.

Jarecki, 91, is a longtime Yale University professor, an author, the co-founder of Moviefone and a billionaire metals trader, in addition to his medical background.

Kennedy said he wanted to know if these "prominent people" were "above the law" or were being investigated?

Wray came out with the hilarious canard, "No one is above the law," even as we've seen somehow a lot of people do seem above the law if they have a "D" after their names or are on the left. Oh, and people in child sex rings are also above the law, too, apparently.

Kennedy just tries to get an answer if the general question is being investigated, and Wray responded, "I'm not sure there's anything I can share with you on that," but he said he'd have to get back to him on that. Chances he does? I wouldn't bet on it.  Kennedy said Wray should read about this latest matter, "It will trigger your gag reflex."

"Is the FBI investigating this, or are these prominent people going to go scot-free?" Kennedy asked.

The FBI has been on a manhunt to go after everyone involved in Jan. 6, even if some only committed misdemeanors, unlike how many leftist protests/riots were dealt with. The FBI seems to have no trouble going after grandmothers who protest at abortion clinics and locking them up.

Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) grilled Wray in December about reports that the FBI hadn't pursued a case, even when a victim brought it to them repeatedly, with information. She also wanted the flight logs.

Epstein clients who were allegedly on video, in Epstein lists, and even complained about by alleged victims, seem to get a pass. And the FBI plays these "I'll get back to you" games.

CANADA: A crucial report with deep national security implications has been under our microscope all day.

Ross,

A crucial report with deep national security implications has been under our microscope all day.

I am here to share the news with you.

The National Security and Intelligence Committee of Parliamentarians has shockingly revealed that various Canadian officials, including House of Commons and Senate members, have been aiding foreign regimes.

The surprise? Justin Trudeau has censored the identities of these serious offenders.

This isn't a casual accusation - renowned intelligence experts label this as "textbook treason." They underline that these unnamed politicians have been interacting with, aiding, and scheming with foreign governments, jeopardizing our national security.

It's a stark betrayal to our country.

We've made our comprehensive report accessible for everyone – no paywalls. It's vital that this information reaches all corners.

More significantly, we need your immediate action, Ross. An official petition, 'Name The Traitors,' is already in motion to bring these offenders to justice. Go to the aptly named website, NameTheTraitors.com to stand against this treachery. Your country needs you now.

While I know you stand with us, we need to let the world know that Canadians will not sit idly by. We need you to get as many people to add their name as possible.
Now is the time to stand up. Those who will put the interests of our enemies above Canada must be dealt with to the full extent of the law. This process starts with naming those who have betrayed the nation.

Standing by while this country falls apart is not an option.

This is war.

Yours,
Mike Campbell

Wisconsin AG Files Phony ‘Fake Elector’ Charges Anyway After Admitting GOP Plan Was Legal

‘Now Democrats are weaponizing Wisconsin’s judiciary,’ U,S. Sen. Ron Johnson said after Attorney General Josh Kaul announces charges against Trump lawyers.

It was only a matter of time before Wisconsin’s far-left attorney general bowed to leftist pressure and filed charges against former President Donald Trump’s representatives in a politically driven investigation into “false electors.” The timing is curious, however — with the charges dropping just a few days after a Manhattan kangaroo court found Trump guilty in a Soviet-style show trial.

Attorney General Josh Kaul held a crowded press conference Tuesday on the steps of the State Capitol to announce felony charges tied to the 2020 plan by Trump campaign attorneys to draft a slate of alternate electors in the event a recount in the closely contested swing state or a court ruling found the Republican president had defeated Democrat challenger Joe Biden.

Kaul, as Democrats demanded, alleges attorneys Kenneth Chesebro and Jim Troupis engaged in a scheme to enlist 10 “false electors” to help Trump’s alleged attempt to overturn Biden’s victory in the Badger State. The attorney general’s charges against the attorneys, along with political operative Michael Roman, massage a state forgery-uttering law to accuse the defendants of knowingly promoting a false slate of electors as authentic, or at least uttering as much.

The three men each face a maximum sentence of up to six years in prison and a $10,000 fine if found guilty of the Class H felony.

“This is an investigation into alleged criminal conduct, and we’re gonna follow the facts wherever they lead,” Kaul said. “The investigation is not focused on any particular person, but on those facts, and what information we can gather, and then making a determination based on the law,” Kaul told reporters hungry for the latest get-Trump headline.

Change of Heart

The long-awaited charges — demanded by angry Democrats and seething left-wing activists for years — are the latest trumped-up complaints brought by Democrat prosecutors against Trump and his allies. Alternate electors also face criminal counts in Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, and, most recently, Arizona.

Kaul, who previously served as an attorney with debunked Russian dossier peddler Marc Elias’ old law firm, had long remained mum on possible charges. In late April, Kaul spokeswoman Gillian Drummond told USA Today that the office would not “confirm or deny the existence of an investigation, except in unique public safety circumstances.” She did say that Kaul “believes that those who committed crimes in an effort to unlawfully subvert the outcome of an election should be held accountable.”

The leftist AG was taking a lot of heat for failing to deliver the heads of Trump’s allies on a political platter, despite the fact that the Wisconsin Elections Commission had twice rejected complaints from a leftist lawfare group about the Republican alternate electors. Interestingly, the Wisconsin Department of Justice said the Republicans who attempted to cast electoral votes for Trump did not violate any election laws.

Kaul’s agency “concluded that Republicans were legitimately trying to preserve Trump’s legal standing as courts were deciding if he or Biden won the election,” the Associated Press reported.

So why the sudden change of heart? It’s not clear whether the reporters at Kaul’s celebratory press conference asked that question.

One legal expert who spoke to The Federalist said Kaul seemed to have found an opening after a Manhattan jury last week found Trump guilty on 34 felony counts of Frankensteinian charges of improper bookkeeping and election interference tied to a reported nondisclosure agreement involving an on-screen prostitute. If Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg could get a guilty conviction on a lemon of a case that legal experts assert is easily reversible on appeal, Kaul stands a pretty good chance of racking up convictions in a liberal Dane County Court, the source said. Like Manhattan, Madison, Wisconsin, — the state capital city and the seat of Dane County — is one of the deepest blue communities in the country.

‘Weaponizing Wisconsin’s Judiciary’

“I think these are political prosecutions that are outside of the law,” Hans von Spakovsky, a senior legal fellow in the Heritage Foundation’s Edwin Meese III Center for Legal and Judicial Studies told me last month about Democrats’ prosecutions against Republican alternate electors. “Quite apart from the historical precedent for the moment, keep in mind that what these individuals did in Arizona, Georgia, and elsewhere is get alternate electors to be ready as a contingency if it was decided the election should be overturned.”

There’s nothing illegal about that, von Spakovsky, a former member of the Federal Election Commission, said.

As The Federalist recently reported, leftists have tried — and failed — to push their phony “fake electors” lawfare scheme elsewhere.

In Pennsylvania, even far-left Democrat Gov. Josh Shapiro, who was the Keystone State’s attorney general at the time, was forced by the facts to concede that “our office does not believe this meets the legal standards for forgery.” The Trump alternate electors there specified that if the courts later determine that they are the “duly elected and qualified electors,” their certification of the election for Trump would then be considered valid.

In New Mexico, Democrat Attorney General RaΓΊl Torrez looked into the alternate electors plan by Republicans but found the conduct did not warrant criminal charges.

Kaul insists Wisconsin is different because the alternate electors there, unlike in some other states, didn’t include conditional language noting that they were merely attempting to preserve Trump’s right to claim the electors, should circumstances change. Andrew Hitt, former chairman of the Wisconsin Republican Party, has claimed that the alternate electors were “tricked” into believing as much. Such claims were at the center of a civil lawsuit in which Chesebro and Troupis admitted no “liability or culpability” but agreed they would not prepare alternate slates of electors in the future without being “certified as the persons elected as presidential electors under state law,” Wisconsin Public Radio reported.

The leftist lawfare plan in Wisconsin, as elsewhere, was to extract a confession of wrongdoing from their “election-denying” political enemies — and $2.4 million. They didn’t get what they were hoping for on either account. Troupis, a former judge and long-time attorney for the Republican Party, at the time said he signed the agreement “to avoid endless litigation, and nothing in today’s settlement constitutes an admission of fault, nor should it.”

In a statement, the attorney cited Harvard Law School Professor Lawrence Lessig’s report fully supporting the Trump team’s actions in Wisconsin.

“He concludes, as we did at the time, that given the results of the 2020 recount were appealable (and were appealed) to the United States Supreme Court, it was a reasonable course of action and expected that the Trump-Pence electors would cast alternate elector ballots. Indeed, Professor Lessig concludes that ‘To find civil liability [as the Biden Elector Plaintiffs sought here] … would, in my view, violate the Supremacy Clause of the United State Constitution.’”

Troupis noted that Kaul’s DOJ reached a similar conclusion in its 2022 opinion to the Wisconsin Elections Commission.

Wisconsin’s senior U.S. senator, Ron Johnson, called Kaul’s change of heart “outrageous.”

“Now Democrats are weaponizing Wisconsin’s judiciary,” the Republican wrote Tuesday on his X account. “Apparently conservative lawyers advising clients is illegal under Democrat tyranny.”

“Democrats are turning America into a banana republic.”
