U.S. — In an attempt to sway voters away from voting for former President Donald Trump, a group of well-known leaders from different fields — politics, religion, and entertainment — came together to publicly voice their support for their chosen candidate.

Identifying themselves as prominent Republicans, the group of Democrats participating in the movement urged voters to join them by throwing their support behind Vice President Kamala Harris in November's presidential election.

"I'm a Republican and I'm voting for Kamala!" said Democrat Mitt Romney. "It's time to bring this country together, which is why we — as Republicans — are putting our differences aside and endorsing someone who stands against everything America has ever stood for and wants to completely drive the country off a cliff. Not like that horrible Donald Trump fellow, who gave us four years of security, prosperity, and world peace."

Other famous personalities in the group agreed. "I'm a Republican and I'm voting for Kamala," said David French, another Democrat. "Why on earth would anyone vote for economic stability, fewer wars, and less crime when they can choose chaos, poverty, and death? If you're a true Republican, you'll vote for a Democrat this November!"

Fellow prominent Republicans like Democrat Liz Cheney, Democrat Adam Kingzinger, Democrat Phil Vischer, and Democrat Jimmy McCain all likewise voiced their support for Kamala while asking other Republicans who are Democrats to do the same.

At publishing time, a Harris campaign spokesperson had released a statement thanking the group of Democrats for saying they were Republicans while supporting a Democrat.
