The Republican Party Is Dead, Long Live the Republican Party

RedState readers will likely have seen the news that the Cheneys have endorsed Kamala Harris, including former Republican VP to George W. Bush, Dick Cheney. While this is somewhat infuriating, it's probably not all that surprising.

As Streiff wrote on Friday, the former vice president labeled Trump as a threat to the United States, using the same debunked excuse Liz Cheney uses when she tries to justify her hatred of Trump--by accusing him of trying to "steal the last election using lies and violence to keep himself in power," and putting it on voters to "put country above partisanship to defend our Constitution":

Because we all know Democrats are great respecters of the Constitution.

To make it clear how much the Cheneys have abandoned their values and principles as Republicans, Lizzy went on to endorse Democrat Colin Allred, the man campaigning against Texas Senator Ted Cruz.

The Cheneys weren't alone in their turncoat shenanigans, either, as Streiff reported:

Over 200 former Bush, McCain, and Romney acolytes have endorsed Harris; see Bush, McCain, and Romney Aides Made a Move in Presidential Race That Didn't Get Reaction They Hoped. An obscure child of John McCain was trotted out to change his party registration and announce his fealty to Kamala.

While it's kind of a sad thing to watch so many people we endorsed, defended, or voted for turn their backs on us, I can't help but think this is a great thing. This was something the Republican Party needed.

The Republican Party needed to die... or at least the old part of it did.

Let's face facts, this has been a breakup long in coming. Before Trump's arrival, the Tea Party was a sign that conservatives were getting pretty fed up with the amount of squish in the Republican Party. The divide became so wide that some Republican politicians began outwardly showing contempt for their own voting br, as well as other Republicans who arrived as a result of the Tea Party. Like spoiled children who were told to share, they wanted to pick up their toys and go home.

Well, they finally did go home, and it turns out that's the Democrat Party.

It shouldn't be lost that the Democrats are celebrating this endorsement, by the way.

Democrats React to Dick Cheney Endorsing Kamala Harris and Expose Themselves as Phonies in the Process

These Republicans acted like Democrat-Lite politicians because they were, in fact, Democrats. There's no way around that title now. Kamala Harris and the Democrat Party are so radicalized to the left that they're openly advocating for Communist policies, keeping the border open, and empowering government beyond any excusable line.

As these Republicans filter out, we're increasingly left with a new Republican Party that doesn't kowtow and cave. It doesn't go along to get along. It has no interest in bipartisanship with insane radicals who hate this country. This new Republican Party doesn't care if you call it racist, homophobic, or sexist. We're not afraid to fight. In fact, we're anxious for the fray, and are very good at poking fun and mocking the ridiculous creature the left has become.

On a list of things that I would say are very good for the Republican Party, a mass of the old Republican guard endorsing Kamala Harris is one of the best things that could have happened. It's a confirmation for the rest of us that we were right all along, and these people aren't one of us. They need to take their elitism to the Democrat Party, where it belongs.

I feel like, more and more, we're getting a Republican Party. I mean, a real one. One that doesn't play games and that I can trust to do what's necessary. It's not perfect, it's going to make mistakes, and there is still some weeding out that has to happen, but at least I can say we're making progress toward being that kind of party. The departure of so many of the old guard Republicans is proof of this.

This is one of the best things that we could have asked for. Now we know that our heading is good.
