Follow the Money: Biden/Harris Admin Facilitated the Entry of Venezuelan Gangs in Aurora, Colorado

Ward Clark reporting for RedState

The problem the nation is having with our non-existent southern border would be bad enough without the Biden/Harris administration and government-funded NGOs facilitating the illegal entry of what they call "migrants." We have seen the unfortunate results of these practices all over the country, and in no place has this situation been more obvious and troublesome than in the Denver suburb of Aurora, Colorado, where Venezuelan gangs have taken over several apartment buildings and are extorting "rent" from the occupants.

On Tuesday, an article in City Journal from Christina Buttons and Christopher F. Rufo reveals that non-government organizations - NGOs - funded by the Biden/Harris administration have facilitated these people's entry.

Beginning last year, a large influx of Venezuelan migrants, some of them members of the notorious Tren de Aragua street gang, reportedly had “taken over” a series of apartment buildings in Aurora—and unleashed terror. Last month, Venezuelan migrants were allegedly implicated in an attempted homicide, an arrest of purported gang members, and shocking security footage that showed heavily armed men forcibly entering one of the apartments. In response to the chaos, police mobilized en masse and vacated one of the complexes after the city, alleging code violations, deemed it uninhabitable.

That's the "what." Here's the "why."

An obvious question: How did members of Venezuelan gangs suddenly find themselves in suburban Colorado? To answer this, we have conducted an exclusive investigation, which leads to a troubling conclusion: the Biden administration, in partnership with Denver authorities and publicly subsidized NGOs, provided the funding and logistics to place a large number of Venezuelan migrants in Aurora, creating a magnet for crime and gangs. And, worse, some of the nonprofits involved appear to be profiting handsomely from the situation.

It's always about money. That's one of the best arguments one can muster about the dangers of the imperial Colossus our federal government has become; Washington has so many fingers in so many pies that the opportunities for graft, like this, are endless.

This case, though, is more egregious than most. This isn't just about shrimp running on treadmills or some other similar wasteful goofiness. Importing these people into a middle-sized American city, even though many (if not all) are in the country illegally, is actually putting American citizens in danger. Former President Trump has been hammering this issue and rightfully so, as it seems scarcely a day goes by that we don't learn of some fresh outrage, or that one we know of already has grown worse.

And, yes, it's about money. Christopher Rufo took to the X social media platform to provide a summary. Follow the thread and you are following the money:

What will it take for the nation to correct course on this matter? We have had rapes, we have had murders, and we are now seeing allegations of city park geese being killed by Haitian immigrants likewise imported into a small Midwestern town by the Biden/Harris administration. What will it take? An October 7th-style attack, scaled up to the United States? Because that's certainly not out of the realm of possibility.

When will Washington start taking this seriously? Why are they still spending taxpayer money - our money taken from us by law - to subsidize these things? What possible benefit does the nation realize from importing these people?

The answer is, as Christina Buttons and Christopher Rufo so eloquently point out, is graft. That's why nothing is being done. And the American people are paying the price, in more ways than one.
