It's been a week since Joe Biden left the presidential race, and he's barely been seen in public. After a fumbling Oval Office address on Thursday in which he failed to offer any explanation for his sudden departure, the president headed off to Camp David. That would be the same Camp David he hid out at before the debate performance that exposed his worsening mental and physical condition.
In other words, his heading back to hunker down there is a pretty big sign of how bad off he is. Biden just suffered the most embarrassing moment of his career, clearly due to worsening health. His heading back into hiding isn't a scheduling coincidence.
So where's Jill Biden? As the following awkward video shows, she's in Paris for some reason.
Some are describing the above scene as embarrassing for Jill Biden because she was last in line, something you wouldn't expect given the assumed stature of the United States. I think something else is going on, though. Over several minutes, she stands there, allowing others to go in front of her to greet French President Emmanual Macron and his wife. She's technically last in line by the time her turn arrives, but I think that was purposeful. She wanted to be last so she could get her photo-op and be the one to walk away with the French leader.
Why? Because that's who Jill Biden is. She is nothing if not intoxicated by the opportunity her husband's fledgling presidency provides to cosplay as royalty. You'd think she'd join her family at Camp David given the situation that just unfolded over the last week. This would be the time for a normal person to be there for the husband she selfishly abused for years on end in pursuit of celebrity and free private jet rides. Instead, she's hobnobbing in Paris alone on the taxpayer dime because again, that's what's who she is. That's what's most important to her.
So yeah, the video of her being last in line in Paris is awkward, but it's because her addiction to power is so awkward. She's going to milk these last six months for all they are worth, and it's going to cost American taxpayers a fortune. After that, who knows? Maybe she'll finally retire to Delaware for good, but I wouldn't count on it.
