Biden's 'Immediate Ceasefire' Threat in Netanyahu Call Another Clear Sign of Joe's Political Desperation

Mike Miller reporting for RedState

It's been said that political desperation is unattractive, while political courage is admirable. In 2024 America, no politician better exemplifies the former than the 46th president of the United States, Joseph Robinette Biden Jr. In a word, Joe Biden is a political coward.

Throughout the less than four years of Biden's disastrous presidency, he has consistently taken the politically desperate way out— by blatantly pandering for votes rather than taking courageous political positions.

Think about it.

Biden has recklessly pandered to Hispanic-American voters by intentionally creating what will forever be known (by me, at least) as the Biden Ilegal Alien Crisis; pandered to the LGBTQ community (specifically the so-called "trans" community) to the point of absurdity, and has unconscionably thrown Israel and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu under the bus at every concocted opportunity, as the Jewish state continues to wage war against the terrorist group Hamas.

To the latter, as we reported, earlier, Biden considerably upped the ante on Thursday.

In a phone call with Netanyahu, Biden demanded an immediate ceasefire, and all but threatened to halt support in Israel's war against Hamas, unless the Jewish state takes steps to protect civilians.

Here's more:

“President Biden emphasized that the strikes on humanitarian workers and the overall humanitarian situation are unacceptable,” the White House said in a statement shortly after the call wrapped.

“He made clear that US policy with respect to Gaza will be determined by our assessment of Israel’s immediate action on these steps.”

Biden also said Israel needed to “announce and implement a series of specific, concrete, and measurable steps to address civilian harm, humanitarian suffering, and the safety of aid workers.”

Secretary of State Antony Blinken reacted to the call during a press conference in Brussels on Thursday:

If the United States does not see changes in Israel’s policies to protect civilians in Gaza, “there’ll be changes in our own policy,” Secretary of State Antony Blinken said in Brussels after the call.[...]

“Israel is not Hamas,” Blinken said. “Israel is a democracy, Hamas a terrosirst [sic] organization. And democracies place the highest value on human life – every human life."

With due respect, Mr. hypocritical Secretary, war is hell. Unintentional events occur. Innocent people die.

Look, Hamas terrorists launched a surprise attack inside Israel on October 7, 2023, murdering, torturing, and raping — including children and even infants — intentionally killing more than 1,300 Israeli citizens.

And yet Joe Biden, in a blatant attempt to pander to Muslim American voters, thinks it's his business to make demands, place restraints, and now threaten Netananyu's justifiably stated goal of eliminating the Hamas threat for good — by eliminating Hamas as a terrorist organization.

Joe? Pound sand.

Yes, Biden holds the checkbook (for now), but would he, or any other American president, accept or adhere to demands from a foreign leader about how to defend this country? Wait— don't answer.

The Bottom Line

Israel is the sole democratic [lowercase "d"] country in the ever-turbulent Middle East. The Jewish state has attempted peaceful co-existence with its Muslim neighbors — some of which have vowed to "push Israel into the sea," and still do, to mostly no avail — for decades.

So along comes miserably failed Joe Biden, whom nearly eight out of 10 Americans want gone. And in clear desperation, the cognitively failing president thinks it's his job to dictate to Bibi Netanyahu how to best protect his beloved homeland.

Yes, Joe — pound sand.
