Biden Team Confident They Can Win Haley Supporters, Because Haley Supporters Mainly Democrats

The following NBC article is a little humorous, from the perspective that MSM writes an article about something that is transparently obvious to those who have followed the nature of the 2024 GOP primary.

Essentially, the gist is that Team Biden is confident they will win the vast majority of Nikki Haley supporters in the 2024 general election.  NBC posits that President Trump is not trying to make progress winning those voters, because he’s divisive or something.  However, the core underpinning of the promoted narrative is creating the illusion of something that doesn’t actually exist.

As highlighted by actual results, exit polling and various reviews of the people who voted for Nikki Haley, her bid for the GOP nomination was supported by Democrats, not Republicans.  Democrats in New Hampshire, Washington DC, Virginia and Vermont supported Haley.

It is not coincidental that strategic efforts were made to court Democrats to support her.  Also, the places where she did well were states and municipalities with open primaries, same day registration/voting, and easy election day party switching.  These processes made it simple for Democrats to vote in the Republican primary.

Bottom line, the overwhelming majority of votes for Haley came from Democrats, who were/are going to vote for Biden anyway. So, it’s an exercise in being obtuse not to accept the reality of who exactly represented the Haley voting base.  Then again, professional and intentional ignorance and strategic pretending is a trait of those skilled in gaslighting.

As a consequence of the dynamic, President Trump making any effort to court the Haley vote is an exercise in futility.  Trump is right to just move on, snark at the nonsense that Haley represented, and avoid spending energy on an attempt that will generate nothing substantive in value.  However, for Team Biden saying they will win Haley voters is just an exercise in political narrative engineering the media love to promote.

(Via NBC) – […] On his Truth Social platform, Trump wrote Wednesday that Haley, who was his ambassador to the United Nations, “got TROUNCED” on Super Tuesday “in record setting fashion,” adding, “Much of her money came from Radical Left Democrats, as did many of her voters, almost 50%, according to the polls.” Later, he said he “would further like to invite all of the Haley supporters to join the greatest movement in the history of our Nation.”

Biden, meanwhile, praised Haley in a statement for having the “courage” to run against Trump and for “speaking the truth” about her rival, expressing hope that the two “can find common ground” on a variety of key issues.

What’s more, a Biden campaign official told NBC News the finance teams for Biden and the Democratic National Committee have recently done outreach to Haley donors, including efforts led by Biden national co-chair Jeffrey Katzenberg, the Hollywood mogul.

“Donald Trump made it clear he doesn’t want Nikki Haley’s supporters,” Biden said in the statement. “I want to be clear: There is a place for them in my campaign.” (read more)

One of the attributes I personally prefer about Donald Trump is his willingness to avoid the pretending nonsense.  I admire the brutal and pragmatic honesty of his political worldview.  We need more non-pretending if we are going to shake our nation out of the mindset of abuse created by the various systems of government.

Too many “conservative” or nationalist-minded American voters suffer from battered conservative syndrome. Too many Republican voters are comfortable playing the role of victim; pointing to the consistently appearing bruises on their arms while simultaneously trying to make the pretending Republican politicians a better sandwich.

There is a willful blindness on the part of many of the American people – a chosen refusal to acknowledge the implications of the unAmerican and unConstititional behaviors, actions and outcomes we are being served on a daily basis.

It can no longer be presumed to be a matter of “I can’t see what’s happening”, because a whole lot of normal Americans really are clean and articulate.

I can’t see it” just doesn’t cut it.

Bullsh!t!  Stop this nonsense.  We can see it; however, many are just choosing to reconcile the irreconcilable because it is more comforting to ignore the truth of it.

It’s more along the lines of “I see what’s happening, but it’s scary and complicated and confusing, and if I admit that I see it, I will become responsible in a way that I am not if I keep pretending I can’t see it or hear it or maybe I don’t understand it.”

What is the source of this passive willingness that accepts illegal activity behind phrases like “they wouldn’t do that….” when they obviously are doing it?

Perhaps because the alternative to passive willingness is active refusal–and there it is: the price tag for active refusal may actually be quite high–and will often be perceived of as just being too high–and besides that, is an unknown. There’s a deep deception involved with survival instinct, that prevents a true comparison from being made between what’s being gained and what’s being lost as judgments are made (often by default) in the midst of confusing and threatening events.

While we use the word passive to describe this “willingness to continue in deception,” this is not an experience shaded in peaceful lavenders, mint greens and dappled sunlight. This is the deadly passivity of muscles that no longer fire; tiny electrical charges that no longer leap from one synapse to the next.

This is as passivity says: “I won’t begin resisting, because I know that once begun, I must continue. Rather than assert myself and perhaps fail (or get really scared), I will sustain myself where I am trapped. I will muffle my moans so as not to risk exposure and I will call it self-control.”

It’s desperately necessary for our survival that we become disillusioned–and quickly.

In I Corinthians 14 the Apostle Paul asks a really sensible question in verse 8:

….if the trumpet makes an uncertain sound, who will prepare for battle?

The trumpet sound must be clear.

The pretending must be dropped.

Delicate sensibilities must be discarded.

A brutal confrontation, yes – with clarity of voice, must begin.
