Ron DeSantis won't be elected president in 2024, but he's still the Governor of Florida for the next three years. That reality is starting to sink in for Florida Democrats.
Daddy's coming home, and he's angry.
I'm not certain of much in life except God and love for family, but I've got a pretty good sense of how this is going to go. DeSantis now has three more years to make Florida even more of a conservative bastion, and he's not going to waste that opportunity. That he's also already thinking about padding his 2028 resume should strike terror into the hearts of Democrats in the Sunshine State.
If they thought the Parental Rights in Education law or banning transgender surgeries for minors was bad, wait until DeSantis is unleashed with no more inhibitions. He's going scorched earth in the next legislative session, and I'm absolutely here for it.
The cope from the Florida Democratic Party has already begun with a mix of cringe memes and fundraising pitches. They know what's coming.
Guess who has a supermajority in the legislature and every reason to use it? And guess who lost to Charlie Crist by double digits? One of these things is not like the other. Putting Nikki Fried in charge of the Florida Democratic Party was doubling down on failure, and more failure they will get.
So they can try to be edgy on social media, but the whirlwind is on its way. DeSantis was never an opportunist when it came to his conservative policies. He was and is a true believer, and he's not going to pass up an opportunity to further bury Democrats in his state. They are laughing now, but the laughs will soon turn to tears.
