Unfortunately, the powers that be at the White House occasionally have to let Joe Biden out, and when they do, it often goes very wrong.
Biden was at FEMA Headquarters with Homeland Security head Alejandro Mayorkas, talking about the response to Hurricane Idalia. The president said that he had approved a disaster declaration for the states affected, including Florida. Biden said he had spoken to Gov. Ron DeSantis and would be visiting Florida on Saturday morning.
It started badly with Joe Biden trying to crack jokes. There's the guy that they told us was so empathetic. This was something he tried when he visited the aftermath of the disastrous fire in Maui. It did not go well there, and it didn't go well here. He joked about having his back turned to the majority of people.
There was mostly an uncomfortable silence in response, a couple of attempts at a laugh. This wasn't the time to be joking, just like it wasn't the time in Maui to be joshing about the ground feeling hot after the fire that killed so many people.
Then Biden moved on to the obligatory climate change part of the exercise when normal things like hurricanes are somehow due to warming, disregarding that hurricanes have been happening in Florida forever. The Democratic answer to climate change, and frankly everything else? Always "Give us more money!"
Unfortunately, once again, Biden proved he had no idea what he was saying when he spoke about the Category 3 hurricane making "landfill" instead of "landfall."
Landfill = pretty much any Democratic policy.
Biden got upset when he was asked a question by a reporter that didn't pertain to the FEMA briefing.
"Let's talk about why I'm here," Biden snapped, getting angry at the reporter. He couldn't temporize because he only had his notes for this meeting and didn't have a script for what they asked him about, so he couldn't answer that question.
He did struggle through one response, though, that wasn't related to the hurricane: What do you do about the flow of drugs at the border?
Biden said he couldn't secure the border until he is given billions of additional dollars "to deal with the technology needed." The answer is always more money, yet it never resolves the problem. If it doesn't work, Democrats say just give us more money, it'll work this time. That's their whole "policy" approach.
But then, when he finished his remarks, he was completely lost. He had no idea what he was supposed to do, looking around, saying in bewilderment, "Where am I going now?"
This is so embarrassing, and it's shameful that the powers that be continue to put him out there. Having this man at the button (or whoever is really behind this mess) is putting us all in danger.
As I reported earlier, the White House isn't even able to keep up with all the reports, gaffes, incoherence, and backlash, with Biden's biographer making the revelation about Biden being frequently "tired." They've had to tailor his whole schedule around having to deal with that. But they're not being transparent about it, or his health, or why he was seen with his doctor this week.
But they can't stop these embarrassing and damaging moments from happening.
Former House Speaker, Republican John Boehner (far left), and current Georgia Republican Governor, Brian Kemp (far right), attend a Stop Trump political strategy session in Sea Island, Georgia, May 2023.The strategy session was how to align with Democrats to destroy the MAGA insurgency.
Well, I certainly hope this doesn’t come as a surprise to CTH readers. {Go Deep on GA GOPe) In fact, on August 15th, I specifically wrote how Georgia Governor Brian Kemp was supporting Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis {Go Deep}.
When you know you are essentially watching a performance of paid political actors, and if you are familiar with the Sea Island – Big Club screenplay, then the only thing remaining is to watch the show and see which sequence they assign to each act. In today’s performance, Brian Kemp, holds a public press conference to proclaim his faith and trust in corrupt Fulton County DA Fani Willis. WATCH:
The reality of the situation is very obvious. Kemp is leading a stop Trump effort on behalf of the multinational benefactors behind him. This is why Kemp recently met privately with Ron DeSantis to promote the reboot 4.0 effort. The Sea Island group has organized Georgia as an important part of their effort. Kemp has a role to play, and the support of Fani Willis is as simple as fulfilling that role and responsibility.
Many casual political observers have been wondering about why the Georgia republican apparatus, including Brian Kemp, doesn’t just get involved and shut down the nonsense coming from Fulton County and political prosecutor Fani Willis. It’s an understandable reference point and curiosity, but if you understand Georgia republican politics you understand why the political leadership actually support Fani Willis.
Republican and Democrat politics is a club structure. Factually, voters are irrelevant in the system the two private corporations have constructed. Whether you align with Republicans or you choose to align with Democrats, the main thing to always remember is – they don’t care. Voters are not part of the RNC/DNC party construct. Voters are irrelevant. The interests of voters are not part of any discussion that takes place inside the private corporations.
On a scaled basis of control, the Georgia republican apparatus is near the top of the GOPe structure for total operational control. Georgia voters are even less relevant than other states. Georgia voters, much like Texas voters, are the least important part of the party process.
Georgia and Texas are closed party states. Much like “districts” in the former Soviet era, Texas and Georgia are under the control of private party officers. If you live in either of these states, and if you try to effect political organizing that impacts the party apparatus, you are an annoying gnat to be removed.
We the people do not have voting processes in these states (Arizona, Nevada and more recently Alaska are examples), we have the illusion of the voting process.
Control is the key in these totalitarian illusions of democracy. If Fani Willis is targeting the group who organize against the interests of Brian Kemp and the Republican club leadership, she is doing them a favor. Brian Kemp and his Republican party crew support corrupt district attorney Fani Willis, just like former Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell supported U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder in the targeting of the Tea Party (2011, 2012). The alignments are exactly identical.
There are states where the professional [GOPe] republican grip is tight, and there are states where the MAGA insurgency has gained strength loosening that corporate club grip. Georgia is a state where the party apparatus is gripping the reins tight and not willing to let the populist movement impede their professional political stranglehold.
Governor Brian Kemp is to Georgia in 2024 as Govenor Haley Barbour was to Mississippi previously. Kemp controls the party machinery and Kemp has always despised the popular support for Donald Trump, an unacceptable republican in the eyes of the party apparatus. It is not coincidental that Sea Island Georgia is the epicenter of the Wall Street assembly against the populist insurgency. Georgia is a battleground state for Republican power and control.
Before going further, watch this 20 second clip of MeAgain Kelly interviewing Ron DeSantis recently. Notice the mindset, the point of reference for DeSantis, when Kelly pokes him about his distant polling to President Trump. Notice the state he references {Direct Rumble Link} WATCH:
Additionally, you guys already know the background of Georgia grassroots activists booing Kemp at the state convention, and the recent issue of Brian Kemp adviser Cody Hall joining team DeSantis while remaining a Kemp advisor.
The Sea Island group of billionaires, influence agents, GOPe politicians, multinationals, Wall Street hedge funds and corporate republicans are manipulating the events in Georgia to support the roadmap that contains their nominee, Ron DeSantis.
Again, for reference, this is not a short-term issue. This is a long-term construct on behalf of the right-wing of the UniParty and the Bush clan apparatus to remove the threat of MAGA politics from their controlled party.
DeSantis is a tool, a vessel for these interests. The absentee Florida governor is not their candidate per se’, because the benefit DeSantis provides is not contained in his winning the 2024 primary, but rather in stopping Donald Trump from winning it.
In 2010 the Tea Party caught the corporate Republican party off guard, they reassembled their machinery and then attacked and removed the Tea Party influence in 2012. In 2016 the counterinsurgent Tea Party base found a way to fight back with Donald Trump; we reassembled and added more support from the middle and working class around the America First agenda and defeated Wall Street republicans again. However, every moment thereafter has been this battle between the party control operatives and the MAGA insurgents.
That battle has continued, and Georgia is the latest visible evidence of the war raging in the background.
We told you this was going to be very ugly, and it is unfolding exactly as we would expect.
It will get worse, much worse!
The key to defeating these Machiavellian constructs is to pour sunlight upon them.
A frustrated Arizona Democrat Secretary of State, Adrian Fontes, announced he does not have legal authority to block President Trump from the ballot.
Mr. Fontes says he would do it if he could and calls the laws governing his inability “stupid.” SoS Fontes is big mad.
(Via The Hill) – Arizona Secretary of State Adrian Fontes (D) said he does not have the ability to bar former President Donald Trump from running for president in his state Wednesday.
There have been calls to bar the former president from being able to run in 2024 related to language in the 14th amendment where it states those who “have engaged in insurrection or rebellion” against the government cannot hold office. Fontes said despite those claims, he cannot do so by way of a previous Arizona Supreme Court case.
“Now, the Arizona Supreme Court said that because there’s no statutory process in federal law to enforce Section 3 of the 14th amendment, you can’t enforce it,” Fontes said on “The Gaggle” podcast by The Arizona Republic and azcentral.com.
“That’s what the Arizona Supreme Court said, so that’s the state of the law in Arizona. Now, do I agree with that? No, that’s stupid,” Fontes continued.
Fontes said despite his dislike of what the Arizona Supreme Court has decided, he will still follow it because it is Arizona law.
“What I’m saying is I’m going to follow the law,” Fontes said. “And the law in Arizona is what the law in Arizona is. Whether I like it or not, is irrelevant.” (link)
Sitting back and looking at all the pieces I've written covering Joe Biden's various failures and scandals, it's hard not to wonder how he's managed to remain in office this long. You'd think being credibly accused of bribery by an FBI confidential source while his family rakes in tens of millions from foreign sources, including the Russians and the Chinese, would be a bigger deal.
Of course, the president's plot armor is directly connected to the fact that the mainstream press will do just about anything to protect him. Most of that comes from simply not covering major news. A recent example of that came when Gold Star families testified of Biden's sociopathic behavior towards them. None of the major broadcast networks even saw fit to mention their words despite those same networks spending weeks decrying Trump's supposed treatment of a Gold Star family (the former president was actually attempting to praise the bravery of the soldier who perished).
There are many, many more examples, but thinking about them raised a question in my mind: Should we actually want Biden to resign?
I'm not so sure. In fact, there's a pretty good argument that the president resigning his place in the White House under the weight of the scandals currently facing him would be a disaster for Republicans.
Why? Because it would take off the board one of the biggest liabilities that currently exists for the Democratic Party. It would be the reverse of Donald Trump not being the nominee for the GOP, as in Democrats would be extremely upset that they couldn't continue to make the 2024 campaign all about the legal cases against the former president and January 6th.
As it stands, Biden is historically unpopular as a sitting president. He's so unpopular that he actually makes a Trump victory in 2024 appear to be somewhat feasible, though still an uphill climb. Should Republicans want to gamble running against a wildcard like Gavin Newsom, who would actually be able to run a campaign from outside his basement? Yes, California is a dumpster fire, but don't underestimate the ability of a slick talker to court the suburban wine-mom crowd. I could be wrong, but it still seems like facing Biden is the best shot Republicans have in 2024.
There is Kamala Harris to consider, though. She actually has a lower favorable rating than the president as of this writing. That's due to her hilariously unauthentic political presentation, and the fact that she's a do-nothing who has never accomplished anything in her career. But would that change if she stepped into the role of president and Democrats rallied around her as the presumptive nominee? I'm not sure, but my suspicion is that she'd simply lose an open primary against Newsom if Biden were to step aside.
One must admit that it's a weird thing to ponder. On the one hand, we here at RedState have to keep covering the news, and that means covering every single one of Biden's legion of scandals. We are never going to adjust our coverage of any topic based on some political calculation. Still, should we all be hoping that these scandals damage Biden beyond repair, but not quite enough that he's forced to resign?
That seems like the best path, but what do you think?
President Joe Biden is in severe decline, evidenced by his numerous public falls and repeated inability to coherently communicate.
The Democrat’s public displays of clumsiness have left the White House scrambling to cover up his physical and mental incompetencies. Corporate media like NPR, which is known for giving its preferred political candidate a boost in the 2020 election cycle, are all too happy to join in the fun just in time for the 2024 election cycle.
An article from NPR published on Thursday attempted to explain Biden’s permanent switch from the 18-foot staircase traditionally used by presidents boarding Air Force One to a smaller set of steps. The outlet noticed the change began around the same time Biden fell during his commencement speech at the Air Force Academy in June.
NPR tried to reassure Americans that their commander in chief, who has suffered several notable spills in recent months, forgets certain people have died, and speaks in lies sprinkled with gibberish, is just taking normal precautions to avoid “bad optics.”
“Using the safer stairs is common sense, says an aging expert,” one of the article’s subheads suggested.
The publication conceded that “recent presidents mostly used the tall stairs” to enter the iconic aircraft but defended short stairs for Biden as a procedural decision that benefits everyone and should alarm no one.
“When Biden is asked about his age, he often says, ‘Watch me.'” Last week, while he was on vacation, he twice went to pilates and spin classes at a fitness studio called Pelodog. And then he boarded Air Force One to return to Washington, using the short stairs,” NPR states.
The author even quoted Obama adviser David Axelrod, who said he “isn’t convinced voters will care about this,” in an attempt to beef up its case for Biden.
“You don’t measure presidents by their ability to navigate steps,” Axelrod declared. “You elect presidents based on their ability to navigate problems.”
Americans aren’t buying it. An Associated Press poll conducted in early August found that 69 percent of Democrats and 89 percent of Republicans believe Biden’s age is affecting his ability to govern. Overall, 77 percent of American adults asserted that the current president is too old to be effective for four more years.”
Biden’s White House doesn’t even buy Axelrod’s hogwash which is why, after Americans circulated memes poking fun at the president’s propensity for plunging shortly into his term, the executive branch blamed the collapse on the wind.
Speaking of wind, NPR also tried to reduce the stigma about Biden’s short stair stint by noting that Trump also used them, allegedly because “his hair would get messed up” on the big steps.
This isn’t the first time NPR or a corporate media outlet defended Biden’s clear decline. Even before he was president, the propaganda press went to bat for Biden’s blunders.
“‘Details Are Irrelevant’: Biden Says Verbal Slip-Ups Don’t Undermine His Judgment,” a 2017 NPR article headline states.
Thus lies the double standard long held by corporate media on age and mental and physical deficiency in presidents.
Shortly before that, in February 2017, NPR suggested Trump should undergo cognitive testing because Alzheimer’s runs in his family.
“At 70, Trump is the oldest American president to ever take office. Couple his age with a family history of dementia — his father Fred developed Alzheimer’s disease in his 80s — and one could argue that the question of baseline cognitive testing for the U.S. head of state has taken on new relevance,” the article’s author wrote.
The trend of trashing Trump over his age and physical and mental state continued well into his presidency despite the fact that he had not experienced any significant public displays of ineptitude. NPR was one of the outlets that gleefully reported that Yale psychiatry professor Dr. Bandy X. Lee briefed some members of Congress about Trump’s “mental fitness for office, pointing to his unpredictable Twitter feed, among other indicators.”
Trump, on the other hand, faced questions and doubts from corporate media outlets like NPR when he declared in 2020 that he “aced” his most recent cognitive test. Their speculation on Trump’s competency fueled Democrat-led discussions on using the 25th Amendment to force a transfer of power if Trump died or was ever deemed incapacitated.
Trump was never the mental and physical liability NPR and other outlets tried to lead Americans to believe. Biden, whom media like NPR bend over backward to vindicate, is a liability. Biden’s mental and physical decline has already threatened national security.
