Throngs of Illegals Cross San Diego Property Owner's Land Daily, Border Patrol Powerless to Stop

Bob Hoge reporting for RedState

We've written a lot the border crisis and Biden's complete refusal to do anything about it -- he'd rather take yet another vacation while records for illegal immigration are broken daily -- but sometimes you need to see something to truly understand the scope of the problem.

San Diego property owner Brian Silvas knows this all too well because on a daily basis, throngs numbering dozens and even hundreds of illegal border crossers nonchalantly walk across his property and head to Who Knows Where, United States.

His three dogs used to bark madly when intruders crossed the property -- now they've become so used to it they barely can work up a snarl. Watch as Silvas describes how mostly single males, some Turkish, some Chinese nationals, walk in seemingly with ease:

“This country was built on immigration. I’m fine with that,” Silvas said. “But not like this. This is ridiculous.”

In the video, you can see a giant border wall -- but it ends just on the edge of Silvas' property line:

Two years ago, Silvas bought 78-acres of land on the Southern California border with Mexico, about 75 miles east of San Diego. His land is marked by hills and large boulders. The border wall ends a few feet into his property, leaving only the rocky desert terrain and a modest razor wire fence as a barrier.

“If I had the money, I would build my own wall right here!” Silvas said.

But Silvas is not the only American near the border impacted by Biden's self-created crisis. Five miles away, Jerry and Maria Shuster also witness large numbers of illegals on their property -- except these ones are camping out, chopping down trees for campfires, and leaving mounds of trash and rubbish.

The Shusters are both migrants themselves, but they don't believe this is how migration should be done in a civilized society:

“(My trees) are all gone. They chop them up and put them in the fire,” said Jerry Shuster, who alleges one group of migrants broke a wood fence on his property to fuel their fire.

The Shusters have lived in Jacumba Hot Springs for more than 40 years. Jerry emigrated from the former Yugoslavia. Maria is from Mexico.

“The government should do something (to) stop this illegal immigration,” Maria Shuster said. “Stop it because (the migrants aren’t) helping us; they’re destroying us.”

The San Diego Border Patrol Sector reported more than 230,000 encounters during the fiscal year that ended in September, a massive uptick from previous years.

It would appear this humanitarian disaster and massive security threat will only be solved one way, and that's by voting in a new (Republican) president in 2024.
