Barbarians at the Gate: Video of Pro-Hamas Protesters Smearing Fake Blood on White House

Teri Christoph reporting for RedState

A heaving mass of pro-Hamas protesters made their way to the White House on Saturday evening and smeared the northwest gates of The People's House with fake blood. Chants of "Allahu Akbar!" were heard by observers, a chilling echo of the refrain of the Hamas terrorists that massacred more than 1,400 Israelis on October 7.

Shockingly, the D.C. protesters stormed the fences along the White House and were allowed to wave Palestinian flags and antisemitic banners through the openings of the gate and into the White House perimeter. We're used to seeing people who violate the perimeter taken down and hauled away in handcuffs, but not today. Footage shows some evidence of the U.S. Secret Service shooing people away from the fence, but, for the most part, the crowd seemed utterly in control of the situation. And, judging from the images in the video below, little to no effort was made to stop the angry horde from defacing the White House with red paint. The People's House.

The protest had started earlier Saturday at Freedom Plaza, with a stated goal of calling for a ceasefire. Things quickly devolved into chants of “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free!” and many antisemitic signs were spotted in the crowd. Pictures soon emerged of historical D.C. landmarks being covered with pro-Hamas signs.

As the seething hordes marched down Pennsylvania Avenue towards the White House, many stopped to spray graffiti messages on city buildings.

A building in Washington D.C. was vandalized with graffiti messages reading, "Death to Israel" and "Glory 2 the Martyrs," among other antisemitic messages, the Israeli embassy to the United States reported.

"In our backyard: "Death to Israel" and "Glory to our Martyrs," among other violent antisemitic graffiti spotted in Washington DC. #WhereIsTheOutrage," the embassy said in an X post Saturday.

The footage showed a series of graffiti messages reading, "Free Gaza" and "F--k Israel."

The D.C. protest was one of many pro-Hamas marches that took place Saturday in cities around the world. As RedState's Bob Hoge reported, unruly crowds took the streets of London, Berlin, Paris, Ankara, Istanbul, and San Francisco, to name just a few.

In France, crowds shouted, “Israel assassin! Macron accomplice!”

In London, video emerged of Metropolitan police officers telling bystanders, who happened to be military veterans, to remove their Union Jack flags from metal barriers as streams of Palestinian flags marched past them. The sentiment was clear: there are too many of "them," so we'll pick on you instead.

Similar scenes were repeated over and over on Saturday, but surely nothing was as shocking or enraging to the American people as seeing the White House being debased so publicly and without shame, likely by people who are here illegally or on temporary visas. D.C. is also home to several colleges and universities, so it's likely the numbers and, sadly, the antisemitic sentiment were bolstered by a heavy student presence.

No matter who holds office, the White House is always The People's House. Seeing angry hordes descend upon it with its ruination in mind is hard to watch. Free speech is one thing, but why was this allowed to happen? And what are we going to do about it?

President Biden was not at the White House on Saturday, opting instead to spend the weekend at his house in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.
