All airports around Paris to be closed for hours on July 26, 2024
Airports will close during the opening ceremony of Olympic Games 2024.
On
July 26, 2024, for the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games, the
airports of Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle, Paris-Orly, Le Bourget and
Beauvais-Tillé will be completely closed.
This measure, announced
by the National Federation of Aviation and its Trades, includes a ban on
flying over Paris over a diameter of 150 km from 7 p.m. to midnight.
The
Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGAC) and airlines are working
on the balance between aviation activity and passenger safety.
Air France and Aéroports de Paris, as partners of the Olympic Games,
are coordinating with the organizing committee to minimize disruptions.
Passengers
affected by these restrictions have already been contacted by the
airlines concerned. Additional details on flight constraints and
possible adjustments should be communicated in spring 2024.
In
addition to air restrictions, reserved lanes could be put in place on
the Paris ring road and the A1, impacting access to Charles-de-Gaulle
airport. These measures could affect operational teams and logistics
flows.
