In yet another big piece of news released on Tuesday, House investigators are accusing Dr. Anthony Fauci of influencing the CIA's review of the origins of COVID-19.
According to the newly released letter, which was sent to the inspector general of the Department of Health and Human Services, Fauci was secretly escorted to CIA headquarters to participate in the agency's analysis in order to "influence" the outcome.
The letter does not make it clear what evidence House investigators have unearthed to point them toward Fauci secretly working with the CIA, but at the end of the letter, a request to speak to a specific agent is made. That would suggest perhaps someone brought them the information.
Fauci has long been accused of trying to downplay the origins of COVID-19 with an eye toward protecting China. As late as March of this year, he was still promoting the "natural origin" theory that has been countered by numerous government intelligence reports. Many now believe the "lab leak" theory, which is backed by ample evidence, is far more credible
It is likely that Fauci will eventually find himself testifying before Congress. Surprisingly, since taking power in January, Republicans have yet to make him appear. Perhaps these latest revelations will serve as a jumping-off point.
