Earlier on Thursday, my colleague Bob Hoge wrote about the House Oversight Committee pressing Biden Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen for any reports her department might have on all suspicious activities done by either Joe Biden or Hunter Biden.
Now, a new story published exclusively by Fox News Digital shows the GOP and several House committees aren’t letting up in the face of the signs of alleged “politicization and misconduct” by members of the Biden Administration—and their allies in the federal bureaucracy:
House Republicans are demanding more than a dozen federal officials, including the U.S. attorney in charge of the investigation into Hunter Biden, appear before multiple congressional committees for transcribed interviews regarding allegations of politicization and misconduct at their agencies throughout the years-long probe into the president’s son.
The House Oversight Committee, House Judiciary Committee, and House Ways and Means Committee are conducting a joint- investigation into the federal probe into Hunter Biden, and whether prosecutorial decisions were influenced by politics.
The report continues:
Fox News Digital exclusively obtained letters sent by Oversight Chairman James Comer, Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan and Ways and Means Chairman Jason Smith sent letters to the Justice Department, Internal Revenue Service and the Secret Service Thursday.
Here’s who the Republicans are looking to speak to, and extract evidence from during transcribed interviews, according to Fox News Digital. The first on the list relates to the IRS whistleblower (a story that RedState Managing Editor Jennifer Van Laar provided an update on earlier on Thursday):
From the IRS, the committees are requesting Michael Batdorf, a director within the IRS’ Criminal Investigation division; and Special Agent in Charge of the Washington D.C. Field Office Darrell J. Waldon of the IRS Criminal Investigation Division to appear….
From the U.S. Secret Service, the committees are calling on any Secret Service employees who received the alleged Dec. 7, 2020 “tip-off” from the FBI.
Then from the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) itself, they’re seeking interviews with Tom Sobocinski, the special agent in charge of the Baltimore Field Office; and FBI Assistant Special Agent in Charge Ryeshia Holley.
The report includes details on which Committee will handle which set of federal employees:
Jordan and the House Judiciary Committee will take the lead on the Justice Department and FBI portion of the investigation; with Comer and the House Oversight Committee taking lead on the Secret Service and Smith at the House Ways and Means Committee taking the lead on the IRS.
In a joint statement to the publication by Comer, Jordan, and Smith, they said:
The federal government is supposed to work for the American people, but whistleblower evidence shows that several federal employees were working overtime to cover up for the Bidens.
We need to hear from these federal employees and other witnesses about this weaponization of federal law enforcement power.
Americans are counting on us to ensure actors are held accountable and restore the equal enforcement of the law.
Indeed, we are—and at least for now, it appears the GOP is keeping up the hardball, by digging for the full truth about the Bidens’ actions.
