FBI Provides More Info About 'Bribery' Form, as More Info on Informant Spells Trouble for Biden

We’ve been reporting about the FBI confidential human source who came forward and told Congress about the Biden bribery form.

That set a lot of actions in motion. We saw the FBI refusing to comply with the subpoena. They wouldn’t even admit that the form existed until about a week ago, so you know what games they’ve been playing with that. The House Oversight Committee was going to bring contempt charges for a vote on Thursday, but late on Wednesday, the FBI agreed to show the form to every member of the Committee and receive a briefing. The FBI is also going to provide two more documents that were referred to in the FD-1023 “bribery” to Comer and Raskin for review.

Oversight Chair James Comer (R-KY) said not only did the FBI not comply, but he accused them of leaking a false narrative that the case had been closed, which Democrats like Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) and the White House promptly spread. As we reported, former Attorney General Bill Barr confirmed that was an incorrect narrative, that the case related to the bribery form had not been closed, and that it was sent to Delaware to the U.S. Attorney for further investigation.

But there was something else that’s also very important to note. Raskin said the entire matter was related to the investigation of information that Rudy Giuliani provided to the FBI. He then tried to spin it as somehow having to do with former President Donald Trump, because all they ever do is still try to blame Trump for everything to deflect from Joe Biden.

But that’s just not the case.

Not so, according to an individual familiar with the investigation who told The Federalist that the CHS [confidential human source] and the FD-1023 summary of his statement were both “unrelated to Rudy Giuliani” and “not derived” from any information Giuliani provided. This corroborates the House Oversight Committee’s representation that the June 30, 2020, FD-1023 “stands on its own” and was not part of the documents Giuliani provided the FBI in January 2020.

In fact, according to the House Oversight Committee, the FD-1023 in question “contains information from the FBI’s confidential human source dating back to another FD-1023 generated in 2017,” which completely removes Giuliani from the mix.

Comer also confirmed this during his remarks about the subpoena that he made earlier. He said in his statement that the informant had “first-hand conversations with the foreign national who claimed to have bribed then-Vice President Biden.”

The confidential human source’s information didn’t come from Giuliani, and it wasn’t from a random person; it was from the foreign national who claimed to have bribed Biden. That’s pretty weighty stuff. On top of that, as we’ve noted before, the confidential human source has a history of being “highly credible.” So Raskin can’t deflect from it by crying “Giuliani” and think that’s somehow going to muddy the waters or deflect from the concerning questions.

Comer also confirmed this information in an interview with Fox News’ Harris Faulkner, where he accused Raskin of lying about the document and the investigation. He said it had nothing to do with Giuliani and that the FBI said four times the document was part of an ongoing investigation. Barr had confirmed it was ongoing.

So either Raskin is completely confusing all the various Biden investigations that might be going on and/or just not telling the truth. Take your pick. Comer is calling it lying.
