It’s a very simple concept.
A lot of people don’t think that you should have kids getting life-changing, transformative transgender drugs and surgery until the person is old enough to make that decision. All kids move through stages, as they grow and evolve. They’re not adults yet, which is why we don’t let them drink, vote, or get those tattoos.
Realize that we’re now in this weird time where in some places, you can legally cut off your breasts because that’s “gender-affirming,” but someone the same age can’t get a tattoo. That’s madness, when it comes to laws. Not caring that kids are being allowed to make life-transforming changes that could harm them is called “love.”
Yet, Democrats would somehow cast restricting sex change procedures for minors as “hate.” We’ve seen this fight in various legislatures across the country, as states consider bills to restrict such procedures. We’ve seen radical trans activists pouring into the legislative chambers trying to obstruct debate and push their agenda. In the case of the trans issue, the Democrats seem to be cool with obstruction of official proceedings. Joe Biden even honored the three Democrats who were involved in the disruption at the Tennessee state house.
We saw the same thing during the debate in Nebraska on Friday, with a bill that prohibited sex change procedures for minors, as well as a ban on abortion after 12 weeks of pregnancy. Activists, showing how classy they were, reportedly threw used tampons from the balcony down onto the floor of the chamber and shouted obscenities.
At least one of them also tried to punch a cop; six activists were arrested. You can see the person in the pink hat punch the cop in the chest, trying to get past him. The police were already struggling, trying to arrest a guy in the corner.
But what truly capped off the crazy, was the take that one Democratic lawmaker had during the debate as she began talking about transpeople when given her time to speak. Democrat Nebraska state Sen. Machaela Cavanaugh started by speaking slowly, creepily, and then got more and more hysterical.
She even slapped the podium as she screamed over and over again, “We need trans people, we love trans people, trans people belong here.” You could see people behind her, walking by and looking at her like she was bats. The unhinged screaming lasted about a minute.
“You matter. You matter and I am fighting for you. I will not stop,” exclaimed Cavanaugh, who displays she/her pronouns in her Twitter bio. “I will not stop today, I will not stop tomorrow. You are loved. You matter. You belong here.” [….]
“Your children are posting things on social media, your children are calling you, colleagues,” Cavanaugh said. “You have to live with your vote.… You have to live with the role that you play in history in the making today. You have to live with the fact that you vote to take away people’s rights. You have to live with that. The rest of us have to live with the implications of that, but you have to live with that.”
“If you didn’t sleep after Tuesday night, reflect on that. You don’t have to vote for this,” she added, just shortly before she called those who support the measure “weak.”
She had posted earlier in the week about burning the session to the ground.
She also has invoked God to support her argument in these twisted remarks.
Cavanaugh thinks that the “Lord” only speaks through what she wants. It’s hard to believe that we have such people as lawmakers, with this performative hysteria. I thought the left was constantly calling for separation of Church and State. Yet suddenly, she wants to invoke “the Lord” because she thinks that will reach people. I’m guessing that will have the opposite effect with most Nebraskans.
Emotion, screaming, even wrongly invoking God—when what they don’t want people to look at is how all this can hurt kids. The politicians act as unhinged as the activists.
