Rep. James Comer (R-KY), the chair of the House Oversight Committee and the one who has been heading up the investigation into the Biden family financial scandals, had some more concerning bombshells to drop about how the investigation has been going. He indicated that he thought witnesses were being intimidated.
Comer said in a new Fox News appearance that they knew that Hunter Biden’s legal team has spoken to some of the people the Committee was speaking with. He also said that they knew Hunter Biden’s legal team had reached out and communicated with some of the people and institutions that the Committee has subpoenaed.
Comer also said that people “within the Biden administration” had “reached out and expressed their disappointment” with some of the people the Committee has subpoenaed, and some of the people that are cooperating. He expressed concern about “intimidating” witnesses in the face of the corruption they were investigating. Comer said he was raising the alarm, and that it was very important to protect whistleblowers.
Fox host Tammy Bruce made the great point that intimidating witnesses is a crime, then she asked whether there was anything else we could do to ensure the safety of the whistleblowers/stop any possible intimidation.
Comer replied that they were trying to keep the whistleblowers safe. Some of the folks who’d been involved in these schemes wanted to come forward, but they also had to worry about potential intimidation from foreign nationals that they’ve been dealing with, as well. “This money is coming from bad actors, in bad countries,” Comer said.
It makes it worse if the people who are supposed to be protecting you — namely those folks in the government — are engaging in intimidation.
In another interview, Comer spoke to Real America’s Voice, and he was even more blunt about his concerns.
“We’ve got witnesses that are scared to death to come forward. They fear for their lives,” Comer said, adding that the Hunter Biden legal team has been “testing the limits with respect to witness intimidation.”
Comer said that banks that were cooperating with them were being “squeezed” by attorneys and “high ranking people in the Democratic party.” He also expressed concern that one of the people on his Committee, Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) was acting essentially “as an attorney for the Biden family,” as we reported Comer has said before.
Comer also noted that the liberal media has been ducking him since he started talking about the number of Biden family members who have received money in some fashion from these foreign dealings— because the media doesn’t want to cover that part of the story,
“They know we’re on to something, they know that there’s a ‘there’ there,” he said.
But they can’t avoid this much longer, Comer said. He said they planned to be very transparent with the American people as they reveal their findings over the next couple of weeks, “I think that you’ll feel the earth shake in a few places,” Comer proclaimed, given all the “bad” things they had found.
It’s not at all hard to imagine this, as we’ve seen the Hunter Biden legal team ramp up their aggressive responses to accusations against him. And we know that the Biden team, and Joe Biden himself, have no problem just flat-out lying when asked about his son.
But it sounds like Comer’s going to have a lot more evidence dropping, so break out the popcorn, because it promises to get even more interesting.
