Here We Go Again: Another 'Large White Balloon' Spotted

Nick Arama reporting for RedState

There are now new reports of a large white balloon spotted about 594 miles northeast of Honolulu, Hawaii.

The Oakland Oceanic Air Traffic Control was reporting sightings of the balloon, with multiple commercial pilots saying they’d seen it. Reports were that it was flying at an altitude of 40,000 to 50,000 feet.

Pilots were advised to report if they saw the object.

It’s not clear whether it already breached American airspace. There are all kinds of military installations in Hawaii, so obviously that would be a big target for spying by China if that is what is going on here.

This would be spitting in the eye of Joe Biden if this is China, right after Biden was foolish and weak enough to have Secretary of State Antony Blinken willingly meet with his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi, at the Munich Security Conference. After they spied on us before, Biden cut off the meeting that Blinken had been planning with China, but he downplayed the spying and didn’t verbally chastise China.

Indeed, he said that he didn’t seek “conflict” with them. That’s not what you should be saying when they are spying on us. Saying “not a major breach” is a signal to the Chinese we don’t regard it as a real problem. It’s a bit like his signal to the Russians with “minor incursions” and then they invaded Ukraine.

In the wake of Biden’s slow reaction to the Chinese spy balloon — letting it fly over the U.S. for a week and over sensitive military sites before shooting it down, then not being straight about the timeline of events, Biden then seemed to overreact to try to ward off the backlash from being too weak, shooting down three other objects they are now saying may just have been civilian balloons, either for research or even car lot balloons. Then after less than a week, the Biden team and the Canadians called off the search for the three “objects” the U.S. shot down. Likely Joe Biden didn’t want it confirmed that he may have used a $400,000 missile to take down a $12 science project (which may have been one of the objects).

Blinken said he scolded China for their actions during his meeting with Wang Yi, but it’s a day late and a dollar short when Biden himself was downplaying it. If you’re still willing to meet with him, you’re still saying you’re eager to be walked all over. Not only doesn’t China appear chastened, but Wang Yi mocked America, calling the response to the Chinese balloon “absurd and hysterical” and threatening “countermeasures” against U.S. entities involved in shooting down the balloon. Biden needs to reevaluate what he’s doing, especially if this is another Chinese balloon.
