We’ve seen all kinds of positive signs breaking for the Republicans right now.
As we reported earlier, the generic ballot numbers from the Wall Street Journal show the Republicans are up by two points, but not only that; a very important swing seems to have taken place in the last couple of months.
But in a new development sure to send Democrat strategists into a full-blown political panic with just one week to go before voters head to the polls, fresh polling from the Wall Street Journal shows a massive swing among suburban white women from Democrats to Republicans in a roughly two-month time frame:
The GOP has seen a shift in its favor among several voter groups, including Latino voters and women, and particularly white suburban women. That group, which the pollsters said makes up 20% of the electorate, shifted 26 percentage points away from Democrats since the Journal’s August poll and now favors the GOP by 15 percentage points.
If you’re losing white, suburban women, you are in deep trouble.
There’s now more evidence of the move to Republicans, even in deep blue states like California, according to the latest news from the Cook Political Report. Cook just moved ten more blue state districts toward the Republicans, including three big races in California with Rep. Katie Porter (D-CA), Rep. Josh Harder (D-CA), and Rep. Julia Brownley (D-CA).
Porter’s race is a big one, now ruled a “toss-up.” Two more races in blue New York have now been moved to “toss-up” status.
No more Katie Porter in office? Now that would be something for folks in California and elsewhere to celebrate, and a major blow to the leftist Democrats. That conservative resurgence could be underway in Orange County if it’s a toss-up even with the fact that she’s raised a ton of money, the third highest among members of the House.
Pour some money in there, folks, because that one is close and would be a great one to grab.
Matt Jacobs, who is running against Brownley also made a great observation about what happened in 2020 with the “toss-up,” “lean Dem,” and “likely Dem.”
Break out the popcorn — if the wave is even affecting these deep blue states so hard, you know this is looking very good for a red tsunami.
