'I'm Going to Jail and I'm Going to Be Happy': TDS-Riddled Pelosi Vows to Punch Trump in Newly Released Video

Mike Miller reporting for RedState

While Trump Derangement Syndrome is a terrible affliction, stage 4 TDS is in a class of its own. One need look no further than House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to see the ravaging effects of the debilitating mental disease. How debilitating is it? As the Jan. 6 Capitol protest-turned-riot unfolded, Pelosi not only threatened to physically assault Donald Trump if he showed up at the Capitol; she said she’d happily to jail for doing so.

A newly-released video recorded on Jan. 6 — interspersed with clips of Donald Trump’s defiant comments about ceding the 2020 election — showed an outraged Pelosi telling staffers she’d “punch him out,” in reference to Trump, if he showed up on Capitol Hill, which he told the fired-up crowd during his comments outside the White House prior to the Capitol assault he’d do. In addition to Pelosi’s threat to assault Trump, she said: “I’m going to jail and I’m going to be happy.”

Trump’s planned trip to the Capitol was ultimately nixed by the Secret Service because they couldn’t guarantee his safety as the deteriorating situation became volatile.

Here’s more, as reported by The New York Post:

The clip opens with Pelosi (D-Calif.) in her office watching the one-term president delivering an incendiary speech during his “Stop the Steal” rally, in which he vowed to never concede the election and urged his supporters to “walk down to the Capitol.”

Pelosi remarks that “it’s very dangerous what he’s doing,” then jokingly tells her aides to relay to Trump “if he comes here, we’re going to the White House,” which draws laughter.

The speaker then looks out the window onto the Mall and remarks on the large crowd of Trump’s followers: “They’re marching up.”

Pelosi’s chief of staff Terry McCullough then tells her the Secret Service had dissuaded Trump from coming to Capitol Hill because they don’t have the resources to protect him, but Pelosi responds, “That could change,” almost sounding disappointed. She then declares:

“If he comes, I’m gonna punch him out. I’ve been waiting for this, for trespassing on the Capitol grounds. I’m gonna punch him out, and I’m gonna go to jail and I’m gonna be happy.”

Does that sound like someone who has incessantly declared the January 6 “insurrectionists” a direct threat to America’s democracy? I got this one: Oh hell no.

“They’re breaking the law in many different ways,” Pelosi added. “And quite frankly, much of it at the instigation of the president of the United States.”

So, yeah, just three weeks prior to the November midterms, the video was “shockingly” obtained exclusively by CNN from Pelosi’s daughter, documentary filmmaker Alexandra Pelosi, and aired on Thursday following what could’ve been the final hearing by the January 6 Committee.

The final headline from the scam “trial” — or “witch hunt,” as Trump calls it — was the announcement that the Democrats — plus “Republican” Reps. Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger — voted unanimously to subpoena Trump.

Whether or not Trump ever appears before the committee, it’s a lose-lose. The subpoena, in my view, puts Trump in an undesirable position: testify, and of course be deemed guilty by the committee, or refuse to testify and be deemed even more guilty.
