What If This Whole ‘Ukraine Invasion’ Was A Hoax?

What If This Whole ‘Ukraine Invasion’ Was A Hoax?

Let me preface this with the fact that I don’t know what I’m going to speculate about here to be true, but it’s the only thing that makes sense of the entire situation. Of course, if Russia invades Ukraine, either by the time this is published Tuesday or anytime thereafter, this could look pretty stupid. Still, I’m willing to risk it because nothing else makes any sense, when you consider the entire situation.

What if the idea of Russia invading Ukraine is a hoax? What if it’s just Russia doing what Russia loves doing – saber rattling – and nothing else? What if the western governments scrambling now to “prevent war” know this and are hoping the whole situation serve as a distraction from the various “Freedom Convoys” forming around the world to protest oppressive and ineffective government actions related to COVID?

Joe Biden needs a distraction from a lot of things, inflation being chief among them. It makes sense that he’s spewing things in such a panicked way that even the President of Ukraine is confused by it. You’d think the leader of the country “on the verge” of being invaded would be sounding the loudest alarm, but he’s not. The American President is.

Why would Biden care so much about something that only impacts Americans insofar as they are in the country at the time, while ignoring the inflation that is damaging people’s lives in the United States?

Honestly, if Russia did attack Ukraine you would care? Would you even notice?

The answer is pretty easy to figure out. Russia invaded Ukraine in 2014. Did you notice then? How has your life been impacted by it? I’d bet not at all. So why would this be different?

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t want Russia to invade. I think every country should be left alone. But am I worked up about it? No. The President of the United States, on the other hand, would like me to be.

Joe needs a “victory” of some sort, something to make him seem effective and tough, something his handlers think will wash the taste of Afghanistan out of our collective mouths. It won’t work.

It won’t work precisely because Americans don’t care about Ukraine and no one has made a case as to why we should, beyond the general “We support freedom” case, which kind of falls flat when coming out of the mouths of people seeking to ruin the lives of anyone who won’t blindly obey their vaccine mandate. Not exactly a bear hug for the concept of freedom.

More than that, the unnecessary deaths of 13 American soldiers in Afghanistan thanks to the indifference and incompetence of this administration will never be washed away. Even if Biden did really “save” Ukraine from a Russian invasion, those lives are gone forever because of him. We won’t forget.

We also won’t forget how much more it costs to fill our tanks thanks to Biden’s inflation, BidInflation, if you will.

No distracting from the fact that it costs $20-$40 more to fill up your car than it did last year, or that a steak is now a luxury item. Who controls Kiev isn’t going to change that.

It’s weird, if I’m right, that Biden would think this could help him domestically. During the first Gulf War, George H. W. Bush had such a boost in approval ratings because things, for the most part, were otherwise fine. Our military also rolled over Iraq so quickly that if you blinked, you might’ve missed it.

In Ukraine, no US troops will be engaged. There is literally nothing Biden can do to change the course of events, should Russia invade. All the actions being discussed are long-term sanctions. It makes you wonder, if Putin is such a bad guy, and if Democrats truly believe Russia not only will invade Ukraine, but they also interfered with the 2016 election, why haven’t they implemented all the sanctions possible already? Why let Putin off easy, even a little?

Nothing makes sense, unless you entertain a couple of possibilities: 1, we’re led by morons, or 2, we are being lied to. There’s ample evidence for both, I just don’t know which way the scale tilts. Then there’s the possibility that I’m wrong about all of it, but that seems less and less likely with each passing day.
