Joe Biden is scared, but it’s what he’s scared of that shows just how far gone he is. I’ll dive into that contention shortly, but first, let’s get to the news story here: According to The Washington Post, the president is concerned that Republican attacks on the White House over the border crisis will resonate with voters.
This comes as the illegal immigration issue at the border reaches astronomical levels, with crossings dwarfing anything seen under the Trump administration.
There are a few parts to this.
To begin, Biden should be scared. Illegal immigration, contrary to the conventional wisdom at the time, ended up being a major factor in Donald Trump winning the GOP primary and ultimately the presidency. It’s not 2008 anymore, where border issues don’t really animate large swaths of voters. Illegal immigration may not be higher than the economy on the list of issues people care about, but for Republicans and many independents, it’s still way up there.
The more chaos at the border, the more incompetent the Democrats, including Joe Biden, look. That kind of failure will have a major impact in 2022 and 2024 if things don’t change, and that’s assuming it’s not already too late to undo the damage caused. I’m of the mind that it likely is.
Past that, the very fact that Biden is so concerned about the political ramifications here and not, you know, the actual on-the-ground ramifications of the border crisis speaks to how truly far gone he is. If there was any hope left that Biden would govern as a moderate among the naive, right-of-center wing that fluffed him prior to 2020, that has to be gone now. This is not a president who is going to look at a problem and solve that problem. Rather, he’s so compromised that he looks at a problem and immediately thinks “how does this affect me?”
If Biden weren’t so thoroughly controlled by the left-wing of his party, the simple answer here would be to just fix the border. I realize that’s easier said than done, but much of the flow could be stemmed by simply reinstating the Remain in Mexico policy, quickly rejecting fraudulent asylum claims, and allowing the expedited deportation of those who are detained for crossing illegally. But if Biden tried to do that, it would enrage his voters, and more importantly, his handlers who actually run the show.
At this point, it should be clear that Biden is simply along for the ride. If he were truly concerned about receiving blowback for the border crisis, he would take action to fix the border crisis. That he’s instead looking for another way out of the consequences of his actions is evidence of the lack of morality his White House operates with. He’s more worried about appeasing his left flank than stopping the dangerous, sometimes deadly human trafficking of children, and in the end, he’s not going to be able to escape the political ramifications of that no matter how hard he tries.
In times past, society at large has attempted to encapsulate the overall theme of a particular decade as well as the collective consciousness of the people who lived through those years. This usually takes place toward the end of said decade of interest or retroactively by historians through research and debate once all the portends have already played out and the defining events are blatantly observable. An easy example to point to are the "Roaring Twenties", characterized by abundant prosperity, consumer indulgence to match, rampant alcohol distribution and use, and of course the ensuing riotous living. However, when it comes to the painfully obvious reality smacking us in our mask-free faces nowadays, the descriptor for our very ownsecond decade already is crystal clear.
So without further adieu, allow me, Believe it!, to be the first to coin the term that shall forever be immortalized in the public psyche for generations to come. The decade of 2020 is henceforth known as...
The Fraudulent Twenties
Let's begin at the top, shall we? President Trump gave the State of the Union address, in which he highlighted the potential danger of the China virus and how it would behoove America to muster a sensible response to preventing its spread and developing a treatment. Nasty Pelosi ripped up that speech on live TV and then went on to encourage people to come to Chinatown.
Then, thanks to the "experts" in the government, we got lock-downs and draconian restrictions placed on: travel, peaceful assembly, expression of religion, ability to work, or in some cases even leave the house. And what was the government's answer to people needing income to survive for three weeks... which turned into three months or longer? Socialist checks being sent out each week, and in many cases the pay was twice as much as what people made working. Meanwhile the "essential" workers, get to keep working harder hours at the same or slightly better wages. They said these measures were to "flatten the curve" and relieve stress on hospitals, since apparently nurses needed more time to twerk on TikTok.The truth of hospitals being almost completely empty, as people put off treatment of serious illnesses, was suppressed by the fake news media. The real reason for the virus and the ensuing lock-downs were to crush the American economy, blame Trump for it, and create a basis on which to justify mass mail-in "voting", which is the most vulnerable existing method to election fraud.
The only other fabricated story that could distract from the WuFlu deception was the drug fueled death of George "Fentanyl" Floyd. Of course, the WuFlu had to go away for a while so BLM and ANTIFA could riot, vandalize, and loot without those pesky COVID restrictions hindering their "mostly peaceful" destruction. It was later discovered that Floyd died of a heart attack, induced mostly by the dangerous levels of Fentanylin his system. In fact, the cop who put him to the ground didn't actually have his knee on Floyd's neck. Yet democrats and FBI agents alike adopted Chauvin's posture in order to show fake solidarity with the black community. Seems odd to believe a cop knelt on Floyd's neck and then mimic that same pose. Are they paying tribute to the image they could use to exploit black Americans further?
Speaking of tribute, to compound this fraud, FentanylFloyd gets a memorial, meanwhile prominent figures of American history get toppled over phony accusations of racism. Robert E. Lee's statue was removed despite the fact he never owned a slave. But that's cool. Honor a drug addicted pornographer and counterfeiter (of a fake $20 no less). So appropriate in the Decade of Fraud. As for Chauvin, he was convicted of involuntary manslaughter AND murder with intent at the same time. How does that one work? How can you both kill someone on accident and intentionally? I guess when it comes to black lies, facts don't matter. Just ask the activist who lied to get onto Chauvin's jury of peers.
Hence we come to the 1619 Project. Hey folks. Did you know America wasn't founded on the date that official documents indicate, but rather on a date which modern day liberals claim it was? Me neither. But in the Fraudulent 20's this is now par for the course. This is to brainwash the youth with the notion that the United States was founded on slavery of black people. A complete lie, but if you disagree, then they call you the racist. Or Uncle Tom, if you happen to be black while speaking out against this deception. Same goes for Critical Race Theory, a thinly veiled racist ideology that has its roots in Marxism. It's pushed as being anti-racist, while the patriots who stand against it are demonized. Which reminds me…
The hacks in the FBI ignore leftist fraud and violence, and even bend the knee to it, while committing it themselves against Jan 6th protesters. Mislabeled as an insurrection or riot, video quickly emerged of D.C. police waving people in and telling them they were allowed to be there, just so they could be prosecuted later. Meanwhile BLM and ANTIFA are the ones burning things down with impunity, oh, AND breaking into the Crapitol building. The ones leading the charge on Jan 6th to break windows were in fact ANTIFA posing as Trump supporters. Many of these people have not been prosecuted or even arrested. How many were doing dirty work for the FBI?
And to remain on the subject of FBI hacks... Colonial pipe line supposedly gets hacked and their files encrypted, and they pay $5 million to the hackers even though, get this, they had the backup files needed to restore their own systems, and because the decryption was taking too long they ended up using those backups anyway! Does anyone really buy that story? They paid all that money to back up their systems in the first place, then they choose to pay the ransom anyway? And if time was of the essence as they claim, then why bother paying the ransom at all? Just back up the systems immediately. No, the pipe line was ordered turned off by the government to raise gas prices. The company launders money and gets to write it off as a loss, or they take advantage of any insurance policy they might have and that money goes to the government, which admitted to "getting most of the money back" later. Same thing with the meat company hack. Isn't it convenient that these targets are also targets of democrat political policies? Global warming activists condemn carbon fuels and raising livestock that they think contribute significantly to methane pollution. Even as they prop up China, the largest polluter in the world.
That report about Biden giving a list of targets to Russia is nothing but a plan by the Deep State to set up a scapegoat for the hacks the federal government will be carrying out throughout the Fraudulent Twenties. Yeah, supposedly anything in America can be hacked (except the election machines of course). So whenever they hack an industry the Deep State doesn't like or isn't playing ball with them, they'll just blame it on Russiaand say it was on the list of industries Biden told them not to hack. In truth, Biden doesn't even understand what's on that list. He didn't make the list, and he didn't research anything that was on it. He can't even speak to another country's leader without notes to keep him on script. No, this is all Deep State, which wants to own businesses and companies in order to control the population indirectly.
We already know the government is colluding with tech corporations to silence dissenting voices, in violation of the 1st Amendment. This happened most obviously with suppressing Trump during the election. His statements against China, the origins of the virus, and the emerging treatments for it were all suppressed and tagged with a message that attempted to make his statements seem unreliable. Trump was finally banned for posting Tweets about the election fraud, as were many others.
Thus we reach the major issue of the article. The 2020 election fraud was so massive that even fake news CNN managed to accidentally show it happen in real time, as vote totals for Trump decreased in the thousands and Biden's totals increased by the same amount. There is no way that can happen unless totals are being switched electronically. A "correction" in the thousands means every county's precincts reporting their results would all need to mess up in their counts at the same time, and to the tune of about 100 votes or more. Antrim County Michigan was the first to expose Dominion machines having the ability to switch votes, an event the corrupt democrat government in Michigan blamed on a down-ballot race being added at the last moment. This was easily debunked once a great patriot and attorney Matthew DePerno was granted access to the machines by a judge.
Georgia also exposed this when a poll worker showed how easy it was to scan blank ballots and then mark selections on the digital image of it, then send it through as a vote counted toward whatever candidate the adjudicator wished. We also saw video of Ruby Freeman scanning a batch of hidden ballots numerous times, which Dominion purposely set up to facilitate cheating. These secret ballots had been placed there early in the morning, and only pulled out after poll observers were told to leave the building due to a water main bursting. The election director assured the observers that the poll workers were done for the night, and would be leaving also. All a hoax. Soon after the observers left, the cheaters pulled out the hidden ballots, all forged for Biden. Now news from Georgia reports 300,000 chain-of-custody breaks, as well as a 28 page report full of various errors and violations from the election director in charge of these tabulation efforts.
News from Arizona's audit also indicate that the Maricopa County Board of Stupidvisors shorted the auditors a possible total of 400,000 ballots. Watch what happens in the next few weeks for liberals to try to discredit the results.
None of this could have occurred without the biggest fraud of them all, as I mentioned at the top of the article, the WuHan China Virus. A manipulated coronavirus, which have always existed, to infect humans and be highly contagious. From a lab funded by Fauci and the Deep State under Trump's nose, then unleashed on purpose to give state governments a reason to institute mail-in voting, used as a cover to stuff ballot boxes in various counties. Post-election ballot dumps were even caught on camera in Detroit Michigan.
The government shut us down under false pretenses and issued socialist checks to keep people placated. Fauci dismissed masks, then mandated them. He also wanted proven medications banned in order to push a vaccine that reports now indicate was created in conjunction with the virus! All designed to control people. This is why they not only give it way for "free" (taxpayer's dime), but they are giving away prizes, or using raffles or lotteries to push it. And now people are dying or being made disabled from the shot itself. I'd say more people are dying from the vaccine than the virus. The hospitals were reporting deaths as COVID deaths even if the true cause of death was unrelated. This enabled them to get more funding. So fraud is rewarded monetarily in the Fraudulent Twenties.
It will never end either, people. Even the vaccinated are starting to wake up to the scam that was perpetrated on them. They are being told to mask up again, because even the vaccinated can still get the virus. And of course they're always going to have a new virus for you, and they'll just call it a "variant"! Courtesy of Cap'n Dunce Fauci!
They say trust "the science". Fauci says he IS the science. A guy who has taken opposite stances on various subjects can't be considered scientific. This is just an appeal to authority fallacy applied to real life.
But as we've seen, biological science doesn't matter to liberals. They think a biological male can be a real "woman". So now we have fraudulent "women" as well. Even as democrats claim to be the party of women, they work to erase womanhood. They even want to replace the word "mother" with "birthing person" because they think females who pose as men and give birth should have reality altered to avoid contradicting their delusion. Granted, this did not start in the 20s, but it has increased rapidly in the last year. So-called "scientists" and doctors who violate the Hippocratic Oath by harming people are doing so for financial gain. They know if they play along they'll get the government to fund these mutilations. They don't care about ruining lives, whether it's through the fake vaccine or fake hormone shots.
From Victor's Secret to Sport's Ill-youstrated. The liberals are getting more blatant about the fraud they're pulling off on the public.
This type of fraud is perpetuated by the fake news media, which includes Fox News. Fox was in the tank for same-sex "marriage" for years before the Supreme Cuck Kennedy mandated it. So of course they'll be on board with lying to the public about something as fundamental as human existence. There's a quote from a Sin City character named Senator Roark that I like to post from time to time that illustrates the situation perfectly.
"Power comes from lying. Lying big and gettin' the whole damn world to play along with you. Once you've got everybody agreeing with what they know in their hearts ain't true, you've got 'em by the balls."
Quite relevant to this issue, I thought.
Fakex Snooze covered up the election fraud because they wanted Trump out. They have been covertly liberal for many years, and now they are revealing it blatantly. They called Arizona for Biden even while people were still waiting in line to vote, which is illegal. They refuse to cover the Arizona audit, or if they do then it is only to be negative and act as if the audit is invalid or nefarious.
All of this plays into various rulings of the so-called "courts". They exalt "expert" testimony and studies, but who decides what studies are correct? The government funds these studies and they get the results they want. The media hypes the results they like, and lie about the results they don't like. They dismiss those studies as biased, or not peer reviewed. Well what does peer reviewed mean? It means other scientists confirming the results. So if none of them agree to review the studies, how can it ever be peer reviewed?
And when a "court" has an issue it wants to keep in place, they simply dismiss the case for "lack of standing" or refuse to hear it. The Supreme Cucks are relying on this tactic more and more. When the redefinition of marriage hit the circuit "courts", the Supreme "Court" didn't want to hear any cases overturning same-sex "marriage" rulings over various states. They wanted the circuit "courts" to do their dirty work for them. It wasn't until the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals upheld marriage integrity (another term I coined) that the Supreme "Court" had to take it up. As they did they also heard California's Prop 8 appeal, and after suffering infiltrator sabotage from one of the Prop 8 lawyers whose relative was in a fake "marriage", the "Court" ruled against the people of California and said they have no standing to defend a law that they drafted, paid for, campaigned in favor of, voted for, and paid to defend in court when their state government shirked its duties. The Supreme "Court" now also finds that states have no standing to sue when federal law infringes on their rights, even in a case like Obamacare that was only upheld because the individual mandate was declared a "tax". A provision that no longer exists in the law.
This also happened with election integrity when the "Court" dismissed the lawsuit of half the country against the fraud states. So basically, a state can outright cheat in their own elections, and there is nothing the other states can do about it. And by extension there is nothing the citizens of that state can do about it either, as the "Courts" will rule that only the ones in power in that state have the authority to investigate themselves!
Fraudulent justice. Fraudulent history. Fraudulent science. Fraudulent institutions. Fraudulent people.
Welcome to the Fraudulent Twenties.
Post your thoughts and comments below, as well as any examples of fraud you've spotted in your daily life or in the "news".
And remember when it comes to the truth, always... Believe it!
There isn’t a single major problem that the country is currently mired in that can’t be directly traced to the actions of Democrats. Not a single one.
President Joe Biden on Monday was moved to finally acknowledge the wild inflation we’re experiencing and which some experts predict will last for years to come. Biden said his White House team is confident that “most of the price increases” are “temporary.”
Wait a little longer! Things will get better!
When have we heard that before?
Biden faulted the natural laws of supply and demand as the reason for inflation, insisting that, “You can’t flip the global economic light back on and not expect this to happen.”
Sure, now that we’ve beaten back the pandemic, demand is steadily climbing, so we would logically expect prices to increase. But that doesn’t explain why gas prices are the highest they’ve been in seven years. It doesn’t explain why the price of food is surging, something that didn’t go out of demand during the pandemic. Eggs are up nearly 6 percent. Milk is up 11 percent.
No one could possibly think the rocketing prices aren’t in large part a result of Biden and Democrats in Congress passing their multi-trillion-dollar welfare package (sometimes referred to as “COVID relief”), which flooded the economy with another round of generous goodies for people who are now making more money by not working, plus yet thousands of dollars more in monthly cash payments to people for no other reason than that they gave birth to a human.
That’s a lot of money Biden has sprayed on us, even as he works to get another multi-trillion-dollar “infrastructure bill” (a phrase Democrats use to mean free money for expensive child care) through Congress which can only make the problem worse.
Nothing has changed at our jungle of a border. It’s getting worse there, too. Since March, the month that Biden made Vice President Kamala Harris in charge of the problem he created, Border Patrol encounters of migrants have continued to climb. In April, the number grew from 173,000 to just short of another 179,000. The next month, it was another 180,600. The month after that, just short of another 190,000.
The obscene numbers of migrants coming to the U.S. is 100 percent because of Biden’s words and actions. The migrants say so themselves. Biden promised an open border and once he was sworn into office he began dismantling all of the rules his predecessor had put in place to avoid this exact situation. And he bragged while doing it.
Just a little more than a week ago, the Biden administration said it would no longer detain pregnant migrants illegally crossing into the U.S. Hmm … Is that likely to reinforce or to undermine Harris’ direct messages to migrants, “Do not come”?
Anchor babies aweigh.
Democrats are whining that we seem to have hit a ceiling on the number of adults who want to get vaccinated against COVID-19, with roughly half of the total population having been “fully vaccinated.” They blame “disinformation” (aka accurate information that upsets their preferred narrative) put out by right-leaning news outlets like Fox News.
That’s stupid. There are plenty of legitimate reasons why any one person might not want to get vaccinated, but there’s one that isn’t good and it’s Democrats’ fault that anyone holds it.
The pandemic was politicized not because former President Donald Trump wouldn’t wear a mask. It was politicized because Democrats blamed every single death caused by a new, highly contagious, airborne virus on him. Then they showered praise on liberal mayors and governors for lockdowns that appeared to do very little, if anything, to slow the spread, while at the same time heaping scorn on Republicans who took actions that more carefully weighed the economy against the virus’ real threat.
And as much as Biden and Harris would like everyone to forget, they insisted Trump was a delusional idiot telling lies when he said he was hopeful that an effective vaccine would be available before the end of 2020. And then they told everyone to be skeptical of whatever vaccine might come anyway.
If they’re upset that the virus continues to spread — I’m not convinced they really are — they have only themselves to blame.
Lastly, after a year of instigating, excusing, and encouraging violent Black Lives rioting and all of the arson, vandalism and destruction that followed the death of George Floyd in every major city, Democrats are now a little nervous that they may pay a price for of the crime they previously had no problem with.
Homicides in 2020 were up 30 percent from the previous year as local Democrat governments got to work legalizing crime, declining to prosecute looters and hamstringing their police forces.
Who could have ever expected crime to go up under the Democrats’ banner of “defund the police”?
It’s another problem that could have been avoided but Democrats created. We got here with them behind the wheel.
This column is becoming a weekly checklist on the descent of American public policy and attitudes further into the depths of frivolity, chaos, and national self-dislike. I was honored to make a small contribution last week to the edition of this website celebrating its fifth anniversary. In the editors’ statement on that anniversary, they renewed their hostility to the ineptitude and moral decrepitude of the bipartisan ruling class, their “opposition to the unaccountable administrative state,” their dislike of an American oligarchy, particularly the “Big Tech monopoly to suppress disagreement,” and their contempt for “pernicious utopian ideologies.” It is a privilege to be associated with such opinions.
In this past week, we’ve seen the absurd spectacle of a group of Texas state legislators commandeering a private plane as they fled from Texas to escape the ability of the governor of Texas to require them to return to Austin and discharge the duty they were elected to carry out, in this case, vote on a voting reform bill.
The selfies they took on the planes as they swilled beer—maskless despite masking regulations the Democrats are particularly fervent about upholding, given that they are the party of COVID terror—and the subsequent positive COVID tests of several of the fleeing legislators are almost too ludicrous to believe. Vice President Kamala Harris’ comparison of their ridiculous flight to Washington with the gathering of the founding fathers of America to declare its independence in 1776 confirmed that the race between the escalating foolishness of elected Democrats and the apparent sincerity with which the Democratic harlot-media endorses anything the Democrats do or say continues at neck-and-neck pace.
The proposed Texas voting rules that occasioned the flight of the Democratic legislators require voter identification, prohibit ballot-harvesting and the casting of votes by one person on behalf of other people, provide a reasonable (i.e., not open-ended) window of hours and days for voting, and assure that the counting process will be witnessed by representatives of all contending parties. The attempt by the Democrats to portray this as “voter suppression” is an outrage, especially Joe Biden’s nonsensical volcanic eruption last week that such efforts have produced the “greatest crisis since the Civil War,” even after he had conceded, following months of violent objection, that voter identification is actually not a bad idea. This is all very distressing.
It is obvious that there were serious problems with the 2020 presidential election and no matter how endlessly and emphatically all of the elements of the anti-Trump coalition and the almost totalitarian unanimity of the national political media repeat that there is no room for belief that the election produced a fraudulent result, a very large number of Americans, for excellent reasons, believe that it was a tainted election. There were 18 challenges to the constitutional integrity of the election in the six swing states to which all problems of voting or vote counting were confined. In addition, there was the Texas attorney general’s case alleging that the swing states did not meet the constitutional requirement of ensuring fair presidential elections. The judiciary at every level refused to judge any of these cases on their merits and the abdication of the judiciary from its coequal status with the executive and legislative branches in the exercise of its highest responsibility—to assure fair elections to national office—and disquiets and rankles with every thinking American. For the incumbent president to state that measures to assure just elections are a menace to the country on the scale of a war in which 750,000 Americans died to preserve the Union and abolish slavery is a shocking immolation of his own credibility.
In part, we are witnessing the gradual erosion of the two great myths which underpin the present wobbling administration: despite having 95 percent support from the national political media and outspending Trump two-to-one, it did not win a clean or unquestionable election; and despite fervent attempts to pretend otherwise, the trespass at the Capitol on January 6 was not organized, incited, or condoned by Trump or his organization and it was neither seriously armed, remotely coordinated, or intended by anyone to be an insurrection.
The failure to come up with any serious indictments despite holding trespassers in prison for six months on what must have been strenuous shakedown efforts to suborn false inculpatory testimony, indicates that the politicization of the FBI continues. The Democratic effort to present the 2020 election as a deliverance of democracy from potential revolutionary despotism is a complete failure. The presentation by the FBI of a Lego set of over a thousand pieces, in its box, that when assembled makes a model of the United States Capitol, which was found at the home of January 6 trespasser Robert Morss, is indicative of how seriously the FBI has deteriorated, at least partially because of the political rot that infected it in the Obama era under Comey and McCabe.
Other highlights in this week of continuing political disappointment include efforts by apologists of the justice system to equate the likely failure of the argument against voting systems to a complete debunking of the unanswerable concerns about drop boxes filled with unverifiable votes in lopsided numbers arriving in the middle of the night; and the news that the National Football League will play what is generally regarded as the African-American anthem “Lift Every Voice” prior to the national anthem at their games this year, and have “social justice messaging” interspersed among other diversions at the games and on the players’ outfits.
If one looks hard enough, the social justice of an NFL game is probably not found in the affront to the U.S. flag and anthem of obscenely overpaid athletes milking their natural gifts through 20-hour week/seven-month work years. Instead of rolling over like poodles, the NFL owners should have contracted the league, expelled the most demonstrative malcontents, and chucked the invertebrate commissioner, Roger Goodell. If they had done that and asked the fans for support they would have received it, and the anti-American players would have straggled back eventually. At least, unlike the National Basketball Association, they haven’t yet been suborned by the Communist Party of China.
Next to Biden’s assimilation of measures to assure fair elections to the Civil War, the most depressing utterance by a U.S. government official last week was Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s request of United Nations officials to be the “scourge of racism, racial discrimination, and xenophobia in the United States.” This is a mission for which the moral elevation of the Iranians, Chinese, Russians, and North Koreans, perfectly prepares them. The rabbits are chasing the hunters, the children are operating the candy store, and the lunatics are running the asylum.
Finally, the misery index—a combination of the rate of unemployment with the rate of inflation, which reached 21.9 under President Jimmy Carter and fell down into the sixes under President Reagan—is back after scarcely having been thought of these 40 years. It was 6.9 when Trump left office, and as of June it was 11.5. The trend is clear, the administration has shown no plausible method of stopping or reversing it, and the Biden societal miracle has produced a crime wave and a flood of illegal unskilled immigrants as well. There’s also the general harassment of vaccination non-enthusiasts, but I can’t face it this week.
President Joe Biden has failed to meet his vaccination goals. There are several reasons for this. Facebook. FOX News. Climate change, maybe. Despite this, we have to convince the people who aren’t vaccinated to get the shot. So how do you convince someone to go against a deeply held belief? It’s hard to say, but I know how I want to convince someone: screaming at them how dumb they are until they change their ways. Thus I’ve decided that’s the best way to persuade people.
If we are to save everyone from this pandemic, we have to find all the people who aren’t vaccinated and scream at them as loudly and as angrily as we can. Remember: The louder and angrier you are, the more right you sound and the more likely you are to convince people.
And that means you also can’t show any doubt. I don’t care if all your knowledge comes from some article you only half-read or something that just popped into your head and seems right to you; you shout that with absolute religious certainty.
“COVID is spreading worse than ever!”
“The delta variant is twenty times as deadly!”
“If you don’t get vaccinated today, five hundred million kids will die tomorrow!”
And here’s the essential part: Make sure the people you are screaming at know that you hate them. If there is one thing that can convince people to change their ways, it’s that they don’t want to be hated by angry people ignorantly screaming at them. They want to be friends with those people.
So get out there, scream at the unvaccinated, and maybe together we can convince them all. And even if we don’t, at least we got to scream at people we hate.
As the Georgia secretary of state’s office continues to investigate evidence that indicates more than 10,300 Georgians may have illegally voted in the November 2020 election, on Friday the office’s chief operating officer reportedly defended voters for violating state election law.
“The reality is these are normal, everyday Georgians who are just trying to exercise their right to vote in a very weird year,” Chief Operating Officer Gabriel Sterling reportedly told Atlanta’s WSB-TV, when confronted with an admission from one voter that he had moved more than 30 days before the general election but cast his vote in the county in which he no longer lived.
As The Federalistreportedlast week, before Georgia certified its election results, President Trump challenged the state’s tally that showed Joe Biden winning the general election by 11,779 votes out of nearly five million votes cast. One of the more than 30 arguments Trump presented in his lawsuit challenging the election charged that nearly 40,000 Georgians illegally voted in a county in which they did not reside.
Trump’s challenge relied on Section 21-2-218 of the state’s election code, which unequivocally provides that residents must vote in the county in which they reside unless they had changed their residence within 30 days of the election. So clear is Georgia’s in-county voting mandate that on Friday “FactCheck” confirmed the accuracy of this reading of the law by quoting the Georgia secretary of state’s voter registration webpage:
Enough Illegal Votes to Exceed Margin of Victory
At the time of Trump’s election challenge, in alleging widespread violations of Section 21-2-218, the president relied on information from the Secretary of State’s Office and the U.S. Postal Service National Change of Address (NCOA) database, the latter of which identified more than 100,000 individuals who had indicated a move to a new county before October 1, 2020.
Mark Davis, an expert on residency issues and voter data analytics, compared the NCOA data to official data from the Secretary of State’s Office and determined that approximately 35,000 of those Georgians cast a ballot in the county from which they had moved more than 30 days before the election. While a percentage of those voters may have moved only temporarily, perhaps because they were students or in the military—circumstances that do not affect a voter’s residency—with less than 12,000 votes separating Biden and Trump, this bucket of potentially illegal votes could have resulted in a state court tossing the election results.
Nonetheless, because Georgia courts delayed Trump’s election-challenge case, setting a trial on the matter only after Congress’ certification of Biden as the victor, evidence of illegal voting was never heard.
Since then, however, as The Federalist first reported a little more than a week ago, growing evidence indicates enough illegal out-of-county votes will eventually be revealed to exceed Biden’s margin of victory. Specifically, Davis re-ran the data in May and found that more than 10,300 of the approximately 35,000 individuals who moved to a new county have since confirmed their move was permanent by updating their voter registration to the same address they had previously provided the USPS.
What the Voters Said
The Secretary of State’s Office told The Federalist in a nearly hour-long interview last week that its investigation into these voters is ongoing, but the lead investigator Frances Watson refused to provide any specifics concerning the investigatory steps being taken.
However, last week, after obtaining a list of the 10,000-plus voters who had updated their registrations since the general election, pursuant to a Georgia open records request, WSB TV investigative reporter Justin Gray launched his ownprobe, knocking on doors to ask voters about their moves.
In a Friday article, Gray reported on his conversations with two voters. According to Gray, one voter, identified as Jon Stout, “admits he did vote in the wrong county after moving just a few houses down the street but crossing the DeKalb County line.” Stout claimed he did so because he was not “able to update his driver’s license during the pandemic.” Stout, however, also did not update his voter registration, which he could have done online with the Secretary of State’s Office.
A second voter, identified as Mark Buerkle, told Gray that “he did move from Gwinnett County to Fulton but turned in his Fulton ballot at a Fulton dropbox.” “The fact is I live here, I voted here, I voted in this county. It should be legit and there shouldn’t be any questions,” Buerkle told WSB TV.
When asked about this reporting, Davis stressed that he doesn’t like talking about specific voters, especially because it is possible the voter may not have even realized he was actually casting a Gwinnett County ballot. “It is up to our elections officials and law enforcement to determine who may or may not have violated the law,” Davis told me, “which is why they are conducting an investigation, and why I gave them the data from my analysis.”
“Equally as important,” though, Davis added, “I also want our elected officials to understand these are systemic irregularities that must be addressed.”
‘The Story the Data Is Telling Me’
“With respect to Mr. Buerkle, I am sorry Channel 2 put him on the spot the way they did,” Davis told me. “I have deliberately refrained from publishing the data from my analysis,” Davis noted, adding that “I had an understanding with the Secretary of State’s Office that it would not be subject to an open records request until the conclusion of their investigation, yet here we are.” (Davis also required me to sign a non-disclosure agreement before providing access to the data for review.)
“That said, when it comes to his residency in particular, I only know the story the data is telling me,” Davis stated, and “the November 2020, NCOA data shows an individual change of address was filed last year, with a move effective date in August of 2020, which indicated a move from an address in Gwinnett County to a new address in Fulton County.”
Further, “the absentee voter data shows this individual was still registered in Gwinnett County when he appears to have requested an absentee ballot be mailed to his Fulton County address in September of 2020.” Also, while this voter told WSB-TV he had placed that ballot in a Fulton County drop box two blocks from his house, “both the absentee data and the vote history data indicate the vote was cast in Gwinnett County,” Davis explained, adding that, if handled properly, Fulton County election officials would transfer the ballot to Gwinnett County.
None of this is to say Buerkle or Stout committed voter fraud. Stout apparently thought nothing of voting in a county in which he no longer lived, and Buerkle seems to not even realize that, according to the secretary of state records, he cast a Gwinnett County absentee ballot.
Laws Don’t Matter If They Aren’t Enforced
The public might also pooh-pooh these admissions as insignificant, but as Davis told me, state election law requires voters to cast a ballot in their county of residence for a reason: Each county has unique issues facing residents, whether it be taxes or which local or state officials will represent them. For instance, “When Mr. Buerkle lived in Gwinnett County, he would have voted in the Seventh Congressional District, but his new residence in Fulton County is in the Fifth Congressional District,” Davis told me.
But even if the public shrugs at the significance of these revelations, Georgia’s Secretary of State’s Office, in the person of its chief operating officer, shouldn’t spin the casting of illegal votes as people “just trying to exercise their right to vote.” To the contrary, every illegal vote cast disenfranchised a legal voter who followed the law, including those who moved and undertook “the normal burden” of voting by lawfully updating their voting registration.
Then there were the Georgia voters who moved and, like the voters featured in WSB TV’s article, failed to update their voter registration—as legally required—in time to cast a ballot in the general election. The overwhelming majority of those 100,000-plus citizens followed the law and did not vote in a county in which they no longer lived.
So, what we have then, is the Secretary of State’s Office defending the counting of the ballots of those who broke the law and even excusing those violations, while those who followed the law remained unable to cast ballots at all. One must wonder too how seriously the Secretary of State’s Office takes the investigation into the 10,000-plus residents if its COO frames those who violate Section 21-2-218 as merely “trying to exercise their right to vote.”
Lack of Enforcement Undermines Public Trust
After WSB TV broke the story late last week, I sought comment from Sterling and asked Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger’s communications manager for voter education, Walter Jones, for a statement. Did Raffensperger agree with Sterling’s assessment? And if not, would the secretary issue a comment condemning violations of election law and Sterling’s disregard for election integrity? Both media requests were ignored.
This approach is disconcerting. The public needs to have confidence that the Secretary of State’s Office will undertake a full and transparent investigation of election irregularities, and Sterling’s statements to the press last week ferment distrust.
Sterling’s recent comments prove even more troubling when considered in tandem with statements a Georgia secretary of state spokesperson made to “FactCheck” late last week concerning the newly revealed evidence of the 10,300-plus likely illegal votes cast in the November 2020 election. Jones reportedly told FactCheck that “establishing a person’s residency is complicated and involves a number of variables, including where a person claims a homestead exemption, and even a person’s ‘intent.’”
That is all true, but it ignores the reality that the more than 10,300 voters specifically at issue all made clear their intent to change residencies when they updated their voter registration records—albeit too late to legally vote in the November 2020 election in their new counties. Further, while there may be a few people on the fringes, it is extremely likely that nearly all of the voters who informed the secretary of state that they had permanently moved to a new county did so on or about the date they told the USPS they were moving—which was more than 30 days before the November 2020 election.
Even More Disconcerting Details
Ironically, Jones also stressed to FactCheck that 86 percent of the voters Davis identified in person “showed up in the polling location where they were registered,” implying some connection to their old residence existed. But as WSB-TV reported, for one voter that meant just walking a few blocks to his old precinct in another county. Jones’s statement would also suggest that many of the voters on the list deliberately traveled a considerable distance to their old county of residence to vote.
Considered in context with Sterling’s comments, however, the worst spin came when Jones stressed to FactCheck that “federal law requires ‘individualized inquiry’ into each voter’s situation,” and that “calling these voter’s ‘illegal voters’ without doing that individualized inquiry is a disservice.”
But then when confronted by an Atlanta investigative reporter who undertook that “individualized inquiry”—and went two-for-two with voters who admitted they had moved more than 30 days before the election—the secretary of state’s COO derided the discovery. That was the real disservice!
Further, while Sterling was spinning this confirmation of illegal votes as just “normal, everyday Georgians who are just trying to exercise their right to vote,” the secretary of state’s press person pushed the conflicting talking point that in-person voters “signed an oath that they resided where they are registered,” and absentee voters signed an application “saying that they still resided where they were registered.”
So which is it, Raffensperger? Are the 10,300-plus—and potentially up to 35,000—voters who may have cast ballots illegally in a county in which they didn’t live “just trying to exercise their right to vote”? Or did many of them deceive election workers by falsely signing an oath affirming they still reside in their old county?
