SNL Decimates Biden Over Incoherence, Creepy Ways, and Low Approval

'SNL' Decimates Biden Over Incoherence, Creepy Ways, and Low Approval

We haven’t seen much humor attempted by liberal comedians when it comes to Joe Biden.

Their comedy, such as it is, seems to have been more directed at trying to defend him and go after his critics.

But “SNL” finally did go after Joe Biden last night on a variety of different levels — his incoherence, his bad approval ratings, dealing with Democratic infighting, even slipping in a reference to his weird problem of sniffing people.

One skit involved Biden (played by James Austin Johnson) and White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki (played by Chloe Fineman). The skit managed to mock her, Biden, and the folks on the left who swoon over her half-baked responses, referring to them as “Psaki bombs.”

“Lay some of those facts on me,” Biden says.

Psaki answers, “Alright, your CNN town hall was watched by no one. And your approval rating is in the dumpster.”

“Ice cold Psaki bomb! Things are going to turn, though?” he asks plaintively.

“I’m not good at lying,” she responds, “so I’m going to leave,” then she turns and runs out, as she frequently does after press briefings.

They nailed him good on both the CNN town hall, which was a train wreck and had horrible ratings as we noted , but still was a ‘high’ for CNN. His approval rating has hit crazy lows, with Biden hemorrhaging independents and even losing Democrats. Psaki is “bad at lying,” but that doesn’t stop her from doing so frequently.

In one skit, Biden says he doesn’t understand what happened, “People used to like me, the press would call me ‘Uncle Joe.’ I miss the old me. Where the hell did that guy go?”

That’s when the “ghost of Biden past” (played by Jason Sudeikis), Biden from when he was vice president, shows up sporting the aviators and the finger guns, all carefree.

“Trick or treat, smell my feet!”

Biden present asks, “Who are you?”

“I’m you from eight years ago, buddy. The ghost of Biden past!” Biden past says.

“How can you be me?” Biden present queries. “You seem so happy, so carefree, so…what’s the word I’m looking for?”

“Lucid,” Biden past quips.

Biden past explains he’s from 2013 — when Biden was vice president.

“Easiest gig in the world. We’re like America’s wacky neighbor, you know? Just pop in with some ice cream cones, some aviator shades, just finger guns, you know, shake a few hands, rub a few shoulders.”

Of course, the problem is that’s what Joe Biden still wants to do, so that’s on target. He doesn’t want to have to deal with the issues.

They then hit on Biden’s proclivity for wanting to touch women’s shoulders and sniff them.

“You can’t do that anymore,” Biden present says.

“Rubbing shoulders or shaking hands?” Biden past says.

“Apparently both,” Biden present says regretfully.

Biden past then starts rubbing his shoulders and whispers in to his ear, “That’s good, see that ain’t creepy.”

“Hey, I hope this doesn’t sound sexist,” Biden past says. “But you gotta smile more, sweetie.”

Then Biden present attacks the last administration, saying he ruined everything, “hung out with porn stars, ate McDonalds in the White House, and got in a fight with the Pope.”

To which Sudeikis/Biden has a funny response, “Hillary got awesome!”

Then they get into the Democratic infighting. Biden present says his infrastructure bill is being held up by two senators, Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ).

“Screw mansion,” Biden past says. “The only mansion I care about is the Playboy Mansion.” Past Biden refers to Sinema sounding like a “Star Wars” character.

A third Biden — from March 2021 — shows up for no explainable reason.

Definitely the funniest Biden is Sudeikis, and they all need work on better imitations. Biden has a ton of quirky moves and phrasing that you can pick up on that they don’t really do, although Sudeikis did try a “Come on, man.”

But the funniest bit was actually the “Weekend Update” take on Biden’s approval.

It’s good that they finally hit some of the troubling highlights about Biden that really needed to be hit, including his incoherence and creepy ways. It’s also important to acknowledge how badly he’s doing in approval, so that impresses itself on those on the left who watch SNL but may not be seeing that on places like MSNBC. It punctures the bubble, and they get to see a little more reality.

So, good move in the right direction — and the fact that they’re willing to go even that far shows how deeply unpopular he is at this point.
