The Left cannot lose the battle to maintain control over education. It is more important to them than abortion. Because if they lose the battle over education, every other piece of ground the Left controls, including abortion, will be threatened. It is, in short, the very lynchpin of their entire plan to conquer America.
This is precisely why the White House colluded with the National School Boards Association in creating the letter the NSBA sent to the White House in order to give Attorney General Merrick Garland the pretense to target parents protesting at school board meetings.
Yesterday, the Washington Free Beacon reported that the NSBA president Viola Garcia, who was behind the September 29 letter to the White House, was subsequently tapped to join the Biden Education Department.
This is how desperate they are to preserve their stranglehold over your children’s education.
The whole incestuous stew of collaboration exposes the sheer panic over losing that stranglehold. In their panic they created what they believed was the perfect pretense to intimidate parents into silence and preserve the very lynchpin that holds their ideology together.
Education is the one battle the Left cannot lose. Because if we remove the lynchpin, the whole house of cards comes tumbling down.
But that desperate letter backfired on them, didn’t it?
Rather than chill opposition, it exposed the collaboration.
Rather than intimidate parents groups into silence, it emboldened them.
So now the Left is trying a more direct approach. Using their obedient servants in the corporate news media, they’re just coming out and telling parents, you have no rights to your children.
Dave is right. This isn’t new.
I cited this quote from The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich in a 2018 column “Your children don’t belong to you.” But I’m going to cite it again.
In his chapter on Education in the Third Reich, William Shirer wrote:
But, even more important, he [Hitler] had stressed in his book the importance of winning over and then training the youth in the service ”of a new national state” – a subject he returned to often after he became the German dictator. ”When an opponent declares, ‘I will not come over to your side,’” he said in a speech on November 6, 1933, ”I calmly say, ’Your child belongs to us already . . . What are you? You will pass on. Your descendants, however, now stand in the new camp. In a short tune they will know nothing else but this new community.’” And on May 1, 1937, he declared, ”This new Reich will give its youth to no one, but will itself take youth and give to youth its own education and its own upbringing.” It was not an idle boast; that was precisely what was happening.
Now, want to hear a different version of the same tune? This is a quote from Melissa Harris-Perry’s 2013 MSNBC promo for its “Lean Forward” campaign:
“We have never invested as much in public education as we should have because we’ve always had kind of a private notion of children. Your kid is yours and totally your responsibility. We haven’t had a very collective notion that these are our children. So part of it is we have to break through our kind of private idea that kids belong to their parents or kids belong to their families and recognize that kids belong to whole communities. Once it’s everybody’s responsibility and not just the household’s, then we can start making better investments.” [Emphasis Dianny’s]
In my 2018 column, I concluded with this:
This is exactly why the Left so virulently opposes both school choice and homeschooling.
It is their greatest desire to control your children and remove them from your sphere of influence. And they seek to do it for the exact same reason Hitler did in the 1930s.
Fascistic movements may go through cosmetic alterations, but at the end of the day, they’re all the same.
There is no greater threat to the Left than losing its monopoly over the control of young minds. Its ideology depends on marinating the young in its precepts. It is the lynchpin. And when parents wake up and fight back, their entire ideology is at risk. Without control over education, they cannot instill in the next generation “right-think” on everything from Climate Change to abortion to Marxism to “gender identity” to a deep, abiding hatred for America.
But like everything the Left does, they pushed too far and too hard. And parents began pushing back. So they decided that parents must be demonized, vilified, and intimidated into silence. Only it isn’t working.
Virginia Republican gubernatorial candidate Glenn Youngkin was polling behind Democrat Terry McAuliffe until he went all-in on parents’ rights in education. Now he is tied with McAuliffe in a state Joe Biden won by nearly ten points.
And in a Cygnal poll released on Sunday, Terry McAuliffe is getting beaten like a redheaded stepchild among parents of K-12 children — with Youngkin leading 56% to McAuliffe’s 39%.
Why do you think McAuliffe is having to bring in Democrat “stars” like Barack Obama and Stacey Abrams and the odious Kamala Harris? Why do you think he’s fearmongering over Youngkin by accusing the blue state Republican of being just like Trump?
Youngkin is appealing to voters that Democrats rely on – most notably suburban women – by tapping into the frustration parents feel at being squeezed out of their children’s education. Meanwhile, McAuliffe crapped all over those voters when he said during a debate that parents shouldn’t have a say in their children’s education.
Last week when the news broke that the National School Boards Association was back-peddling over their stupid letter, the brilliant Jesse Kelly made this observation on Twitter:
This is why you push back and push back hard. When they say they don’t want you at school boards, bring even more people the next time. When they say don’t get loud, get even louder. This works on the American communist because there’s a secret about the American communist. 1/
The American communist is soft. He’s soft because he’s never faced real opposition from the pathetic, spineless, “principled” American Right. The American Right is so soft, they’ll actually scold themselves if one of their own pushes back too hard against the communists. 2/
Communists in other nations had to fight tooth and nail to gain power. From Russia to China to Cuba, the communist was a fighter. Those communists were hard as nails because they came up facing things like the White Army or Chiang Kai-shek. Things that hit back. And hard. 3/
Not the American communist. He’s spent his entire life luxuriating in a country where he never faces real pain or consequences for his actions. He’s been able to pillage and destroy at will. This easy life has made him weak. 4/
We can achieve huge victories for our cause if we just change our loser mentality and fight these people. Whatever they love, attack it. Whatever they hate, feed it to them.
This must be the new way. The New Right.
That’s all.
Education is the lynchpin for the Left. It holds their entire ideology in place.
Several years ago, during a radio interview, I was discussing campus safe space culture with the host and he said that college students were in for a rude awakening when they graduate and enter the real world.
I told him that wasn’t the case at all. Instead, college students are taking their indoctrinated ideology into the real world with them. It is metastasizing and spreading through every institution and corporation in America. That’s the goal of the Left’s stranglehold on education. And that is why education is their lynchpin.
Who are today’s school teachers? They were yesterday’s college Leftists. The whole scheme is self-replicating.
Campus Leftism now infests the federal government. As I said yesterday, the entire Biden administration now governs like the Oberlin College student council.
The Left will stop at nothing to win this war. And no strategy, however dirty and underhanded, is off the table. They will collude with the White House and the Justice Department. They will send their willing scribes out to vilify parents and lecture them for presuming they have rights over their own children.
Because if the Left loses the battle to hold education, they lose the war.
But the reverse is also true.
If we do not win this battle, if we do not drive them into the sea, we will lose the country.
We cannot surrender, no matter what they throw at us.
