Democrats: Biden Had 'No Plan' to Get His Agenda Passed, Has Incompetent Staffers

Democrats are ripping into each other this weekend after the failure of the infrastructure bill to go forward for a vote, when progressives tried to hold it hostage in order to get a vote on the spreading spree budget reconciliation bill.

As we reported, Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) flamed the Democratic leaders for not putting on the vote as promised this week and countenancing the “stunt” of the progressives.

Media isn’t being silent about the toxic nature of the rift between the Democrats, either.

But what it boils down to is that this was allegedly Joe Biden’s agenda — these were two bills he was putting forward, albeit shepherded by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA). However, as we saw in the case of Afghanistan, he just expected everything to happen, despite having no real plan as to how to make it happen. Which is why it all blew up.

Here, again, he had the same problem. He had no plan or idea how to get this past the impasse between the progressives and the moderates. This is Biden who spent his whole life in the Senate and yet, still doesn’t know how to get two bills through Congress.

Here’s ABC’s Jonathan Karl explaining that that when Biden went to the Hill on Friday, Democrats thought he was going with some leadership or plan to get the agenda through. Instead, he said, they were “are at a loss for words. There was no plan, no strategy, no timing.”

Just like Afghanistan — artificial deadline and no idea how to make it happen.

On top of it, just like with Afghanistan, Dems say his people are incompetent.

Punchbowl News’ John Bresnahan said that the Democrat infighting was “incredibly toxic.” He also said that a chief staffer of a moderate Democrat said that the White House legislative affairs folks “don’t know what they’re doing.”

Guess who was among the White House people that Biden deployed to help push the legislation? If you guess Susan Rice, you would be right.

She was Barack Obama’s National Security Adviser and now is the director of the White House domestic policy council. Then does anyone wonder why it didn’t make it through? That’s the lady that went on all the Sunday shows to try to sell us a lie on Benghazi. She’s the one who seems to get deployed when things are a disaster and about to blow up. Small wonder that it didn’t work here.

But even as they failed spectacularly — pretty much in a forgone conclusion, since we knew going into this week there was a big stalemate — the Biden administration, just like with Afghanistan, tried to pitch it as a success.

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki claimed on Thursday night , after the infrastructure vote failed to go forward, that “a great deal of progress has been made this we , and we are closer to an agreement than ever. But we are not there yet, and so, we will need some additional time to finish the work, starting tomorrow morning first thing.”

No plan, no strategy. But a whole lot of fantasy spinning — that’s the Biden Administration in a nutshell.
