If you wonder where we might be heading with COVID mandates, one need only look in the direction of Australia to know where we don’t want to go. It’s getting pretty crazy there now in terms of COVID restrictions. And this is supposed to be a modern, Western democracy.
The draconian measures haven’t only included lockdowns, they also have quarantine camps.
They’ve closed their borders and prevented travel between states. The Premier of Victoria has made it clear they are going to force you to be vaccinated or you will be “locked out” of society.
Places like Melbourne, for example, have a daily curfew, currently from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., and residents are only allowed to leave their homes within a five-kilometer radius for a limited time to buy food, provide care, exercise, or attend approved work that requires permits. If you break it, you can be arrested. One woman was arrested for simply planning a protest of it, not even doing the protest.
Here’s the NSW Police minister encouraging people to fink out their friends and family if they know they will be participating in anti-lockdown protests which are illegal.
But it’s getting worse. They’ve locked down entire apartment buildings if anyone in them gets sick in New South Wales. Now they are policing the alcohol that people who are living in social housing can have delivered, dictating how much alcohol the people can have. Does anyone really think this is a normal reaction to a virus?
Residents are now allowed to receive a ration of one of the following per day: six beers or pre-mixed drinks, one bottle of wine, or one 375ml bottle of spirits, according to NCA NewsWire.
Residents of the social housing block are frustrated care parcels sent from friends and families are being searched through.
“They are searching all bags and things coming into the building… They confiscated a series of gifts,” Common Ground resident Robin Elhaj told NCA NewsWire.
“So things like bottles of spirits, we weren’t allowed to have those and we still (aren’t).”
Excess alcohol is being confiscated until lockdown rules are lifted.
This is all to “ensure the safety of health staff and residents,” according to the government.
But if that weren’t bad enough, Dr. Kerry Chant, the chief health officer for New South Wales, set tongues wagging with the term she used while talking about COVID restrictions. She said that, as they began to lift some restrictions, they would still be retaining contact tracing for where people were going, like pubs and clubs, in the “new world order.”
Needless to say, that didn’t give comfort to the people looking on in astonishment as an alleged free society seems insistent upon giving up its basic rights. That caused “New World Order” to trend on Twitter.
But you don’t need to hear those words to know that things are not right here.
