The same teachers unions that teamed up with Democrats to advocate for anti-science school lockdowns and mask mandates for students are now engaged in a new attack on American families through the implementation of anti-American curriculum.
The nation’s largest teachers union, the National Education Association, was one of the most notable organizations to embrace boosting racist teacher training and curriculum across the country. In addition to voting to dig up dirt on organizations that oppose the implementation educating children to view the world through the lens of race and oppression during the virtual conference last week, the Democrat donor group also passed a leftist-driven resolution committing its more than 3 million members to a “study that critiques empire, white supremacy, anti-Blackness, anti-Indigeneity, racism, patriarchy, cisheteropatriarchy, capitalism, ableism, anthropocentrism, and other forms of power and oppression at the intersections of our society.”
The adopted new business item also clearly stated that “we oppose attempts to ban critical race theory and/or The 1619 Project.”
“The Association will further convey that in teaching these topics, it is reasonable and appropriate for curriculum to be informed by academic frameworks for understanding and interpreting the impact of the past on current society, including critical race theory,” the website stated before all of the business items and conference materials were scrubbed from the NEA website.
NEA did not respond to The Federalist’s questions about why the webpage was quickly taken down.
Other initiatives from the group include pairing up with “Black Lives Matter at School and the Zinn Education Project,” both groups with anti-American histories and Marxist founders, to “rally” in honor of George Floyd’s birthday and “teach lessons about structural racism and oppression.”
The NEA’s willingness to echo progressive talking points isn’t new, Lindsey Burke, director of the Center for Education Policy at the Heritage Foundation, told The Federalist.
“The resolutions that do have something to do with improving the quality of education, ostensibly this Education Association, you know defeats that but then continue to approve these other noneducation related leftist resolutions pertaining to Palestinian territory and over the years there have been a lot concerning climate change and LGBTQ rights, etc,” she said.
For months, Democrats and their cronies in the corrupt corporate media denied that schools around the nation are plagued with racist curricula. Even teachers union heads such as Randi Weingarten of the American Federation of Teachers once claimed that critical race theory “is not taught in schools.”
“The right’s culture warriors are labeling any discussion of race, racism, or discrimination as such to try to make it toxic,” she tweeted. “They’re bullying teachers to try and keep them from teaching the truth.”
Shortly after Weingarten’s claim, AFT took to Twitter to brag about the union’s secretary-treasurer going on “Good Morning America” to talk “about how teaching critical race theory allows educators to ‘give our students the opportunity to understand the full breadth and depth of the American society.'”
The Washington Post also published a glowing profile of Weingarten who made vague promises to sue anyone who tries to stop teachers from teaching what she labels “honest history” but really relies on inaccurate and error-filled content such as the “1619 Project.”
“Amid critical race theory controversy, teachers union chief vows legal action to defend teaching of ‘honest history,'” the headline stated.
One day after the article ran, reports that the infamous “antiracist” grifter Ibram X. Kendi will headline the AFT union conference.
“Hear from Dr. Ibram X. Kendi in this free-ranging discussion with student activists and AFT members on his scholarship and on developing anti-racist mindsets and actions inside and outside classrooms,” the conference agenda states.
Parents, teachers, organizations, and other concerned citizens have spent months arguing against the indoctrination of their children. In Loudoun County, arguably the most prominent school district engaged in the critical race theory debate, parents have continually fought the school board over its willingness to sponsor school-sanctioned racism. One man was even arrested after the school board shut down a public forum about these concerns.
“You would think after the last year and a half, 2020 through 2021, the unions would be singularly focused on making sure teachers are ready to go back to school in the fall, that they are making sure that schools are ready to reopen, that they are focused on any learning loss that transpired as a result of school closures after the last year, but instead we see that they have decided to really double down on critical race theory,” Burke said.
Burke noted that parents are already incredibly frustrated with school closures, which largely stayed closed due to union demands.
“They will be even more frustrated when schools reopen and their children are taught that they are either an oppressor or a victim, and there’s nothing that they can do to change that fact due to their immutable characteristics like race,” she said.
