Critical race theory (CRT) has become one of the largest concerns in America as various groups attempt to make it a required part of professional and educational life. CRT is the idea that America is, at its foundation, a racist country that continues to allow white people to benefit from the continued practice of discrimination and prejudice today. It advocates a form of original sin for white people and a perpetual status of victimhood for minorities, especially black people.
The bottom line is, it teaches racism, bigotry, hate, and dependence, and the war against CRT has begun, and one Florida mother is on the front lines, tearing it apart. While the left would love to write this opposition off as an attempt by white people to hold onto power, but Quisha King is a black woman, and she has some things to say about CRT that everyone needs to hear.
Representing the group Moms for Liberty, King demolished CRT and the obvious division of race it’s attempting to push on the population.
“Just coming off of May 31st, marking the 100 years of the Tulsa riots, it is sad that we are even contemplating something like critical race theory, where children will be separated by their skin color and deemed permanently oppressors or oppressed in 2021,” she said.
King then immediately checked one of the aspects of the left’s arguments that they haven’t yet considered.
“That is not teaching the truth unless you believe that whites are better than blacks,” she added.
King explained that what CRT really is isn’t the education of oppression of black people in American history but that a hierarchy exists within America that lists groups as evil, namely the white, heterosexual, able-bodied male and puts them in the status of oppressor and everyone else as “oppressed.”
“I don’t know about you, but telling my child or any child that they are in a permanent oppressed status in America because they are black is racist, and saying that white people are automatically above me, my children or any child is racist as well,” she said.
King said that we can’t allow this kind of thinking in our country after we’ve spent so long fighting and dying for the exact opposite of what CRT is trying to accomplish.
“Our ancestors, white, black, and others hung, bled, and died right alongside each other to push America towards that more perfect union,” said King. “If this continues, we will look back and be responsible for the dismantling of the greatest country in the world by reverting to teaching hate and that race is a determining factor on where your destiny lies.”
As Alex Parker reported earlier today, Critical Race Theory has been banned as a curriculum option in the state of Florida.
This makes it one of four states that have done so, including Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Idaho. Texas has banned schools from requiring teachers to teach it to students. Many more states are considering legislation or working on passing it.
King wouldn’t be the first black woman to speak out against CRT either. As Kira Davis wrote, another black mother also gave a fiery speech denouncing the practice in Loudoun County, Virginia. If Democrats were hoping they could write this off as resistance by whites attempting to keep the status quo in what they think is the American system, then they’re wrong.
As it turns out, no matter what race you are, many parents don’t want their child growing up believing in hate, nor the idea that they are worse than someone else because of their skin color, and as King pointed out, that’s exactly what CRT does.
