Tulsi Gabbard Tears John Brennan, Adam Schiff, and the Big Tech Oligarchs Apart

Tulsi Gabbard may be mostly liberal in her views, but she’s doing a lot of things right lately. Before leaving office, she came out in support of late-term abortion bans. She’s also long been right about a lot of foreign policy misadventures. Today, she released a video hitting on an issue many Republican politicians are too cowardly (or too bought off) to push. Namely, the illiberalism of Big Tech and figures like Adam Schiff and John Brennan.

Brennan has appeared on cable news calling for a full-scale targeting of not only Trump voters but people he describes as “religious extremists” and even libertarians. As Gabbard points out, it all sounds eerily reminiscent of the tactics used in the Soviet Union. I guess that flame of communism still burns brightly within Brennan, a man who once considered himself a part of the Communist Party. Meanwhile, Adam Schiff has done much the same, though he’s able to control himself for the cameras a bit better.

Big Tech are playing their part as well, already engraining themselves into the Biden administration. In the last 24 hours, Mike Lindell (My Pillow guy) was banned from social media, apparently for things he didn’t even do on the platforms themselves. We also see legitimate claims targeted with erroneous fact-checks. All the while, the mainstream media cheer them on and contribute, rooting for more and more censorship because they see it as helping their side politically.

Gabbard gets all this and isn’t new to the party. It’s good to see her continue to be another voice of reason on the topic. As Dave Reaboi points out, there are a lot of people in the GOP who could take some lessons from the former Hawaii congresswoman.

Establishment Republicans want to make litmus tests surrounding their mostly terrible, Bush-era foreign policy, yet they don’t want to focus on things that actually affect their voters on a wide level. One, I think Gabbard has been mostly proven right about the civil war in Syria. Getting involved and attempting to remove Assad has been an absolute disaster. Put it down on the long list of blunders from our stalwart foreign policy experts. Two, even if Gabbard were wrong, as Dave notes, that’s way, way down the list of things that are important for Republicans to be shunning people over.

The GOP better get in gear. It shouldn’t be Tulsi Gabbard releasing a video like this, though I’m glad she did. It should be Ben Sasse, Lindsey Graham, and all the other do-nothings in Congress. They should try actually leading on what is ostensibly the most important issue we face right now in fighting to keep freedom of speech relevant.
