The
Second Amendment states: "A well regulated Militia being necessary to
the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear
Arms, shall not be infringed." This was true when the Bill of Rights
was written, and it is still valid today. However, in light of
the left-wing-generated storm clouds over America, conservatives need an
extended understanding of the 2nd Amendment. Not only do we, the
people, have a right to possess firearms, but it has become practically a
duty for able-bodied patriots to do so.
Does
that sound extreme? In years past, it would be. But not today. The
Democrats and their accomplices on the left are bound and possessed to
turn America into something it never was intended to be and to do it
without the true consent of the people. They are attempting this by a
blatant coup from inside. Just look at the outrages done
to overturn the last presidential election and to remove Donald Trump
from office. And despite Trump having the power of the presidency and
trying to get justice, none of the plotters has been brought to
justice. None likely will, either — certainly not the big fish. The
protection these traitors to the Constitution get from those in the Deep
State bureaucracy and judicial system has been too strong to break.
One
of the fundamental reasons why Trump has become the target of a coup is
that in the past, a coup wasn't necessary. The uniparty in conjunction
with the corporate media gave America the choice between Tweedle Dee
and Tweedle Dum. Perhaps now, in retrospect, this can be seen more
clearly. Think of the Republican candidates since Ronald Reagan. There
were George H. and George W. Bush, Bob Dole, John McCain, and
Mitt Romney. All proclaimed to be conservatives, but all were in
fact globalists and members of the establishment. None would ever think
of launching America-first policies. None would have upset
Washington's applecart.
Trump
somehow broke through. He was not Tweedle Dee or Tweedle Dum. Trump
was more of 21st-century version of Pat Buchanan or Ross Perot. This
panicked the uniparty and Deep State and triggered them into more overt
actions. Their weapons of choice are a lying tongue and their high
positions in government.
Is
voting the answer? One hopes so. But the Democrats have a long
history of cheating in elections. And what has ever been done about
it? Little to nothing. As is often the case, the media cover up or
downplay Democrat cheating. In this way, the public was never
enlightened to what was going on.
As
bad as Democratic cheating was in the past, it is going to be epic this
November. Now the cheating is preplanned (mail-in voting, etc.) and
organized on a massive scale. An army of Democrat lawyers have even
been recruited to make it harder than ever to expose cheating. They
will throw dust in the air and obscure the cheating. Nothing is off the
table in the Democrats' crusade to get rid of Trump.
Finally,
there's the matter of the violence of Antifa and Black Lives
Matter. This is a rebellion against the social order. But what is
worse than the criminality of these groups is that Democrat mayors,
governors, and presidential candidates turn a blind eye or are making
excuses for it. If silence is consent, then the Democrat Party is fully
on board and complicit with the lawlessness.
If
you live along the coast and the sky looks ominous, you know a
hurricane is coming, and you make preparations. Dark clouds are over
America, saying a storm is brewing. In this environment, the patriot
has several duties. Two are to vote and to speak out. The third is to
own a firearm. This is not just a right. It's now a duty. The gun
never has to be used. Just possessing it, however, is a critical vote
for freedom and the survival of our republic.
Competing rallies ended in tragedy in Denver today outside the Civic Center.
Conservatives were holding a “Patriot Rally” in the amphitheater area when BLM/Antifa folks, who were holding a competing rally, separated by the police and barriers.
While the conservative group held signs decrying socialism and communism, and chanted in support of the police, the BLM/Antifa group has a literature table, encouraging people to join the Colorado Socialist Revolution.
“Join the Denver Communists, Colorado Socialist Revolution, Anon Resistance Movement, W.I.T.C.H. Denver, H.O.E.S. (Help on Every Street), Front Range Mutual Aid Network, and more for a Black Lives Matter Anti-Fascist Soup Drive & Pop-up Communist Bookswap!” reads an invite posted on social media.
“Additionally, we will be counterprotesting a fascist rally that is supposed to happen at the same time and place!” the invitation continues. “The plan is to outnumber and outshine the fascists, set up our tables and tents in Civic Center Park, as near as we can be to the fascists! We want to send these worms back into their holes, demoralized and isolated, with only their racist, r*pist president to console them. We’ll have a soup for our family, music, speakers, communist books, and plenty of angry anti-fascists chants.”
The radicals burned a thin blue line flag right in front of the police as they mocked them.
Things went very wrong when the some of the BLM/Antifa folks breached the barriers to the conservative rally. Police fired pepper balls at the BLM/Antifa people.
But the police and people from both sides were standing around when an interaction went very wrong.
Warning: graphic
According to witnesses, a conservative person sprayed mace at a person. Then that person fired a shot, killing the conservative. The police took the shooter into custody along with another person. That shooter was identified in initial reports as affiliated with the Antifa group but now police are saying that he was a security guard not connected to Antifa.
Here’s another angle of the moments right before the shooting. Warning for language.
Reports indicate he had the gun out already before the mace.
We’ll keep you updated as we learn more about the case.
MSM is pitching a lot of polls that might suggest that Joe Biden was ahead. You even have a CNN poll claiming that Biden was up 16 points.
But even Biden himself poo pooed that poll and said don’t be taken in by that, get out and vote.
Which means that Biden knows that that’s nonsense, and it’s much closer.
As I previously wrote, Biden wouldn’t be sending folks to Nevada and New Hampshire if he wasn’t seeing things that indicated a problem in those two states which previously were thought to be sure blue in his corner. Biden wouldn’t be suddenly activating people on the ground to go out and knock on doors in ‘battleground states’ if he didn’t think he desperately needed to do it, after doing nothing no reaching out to voters on the ground in person since March.
The MSM polls often have some major flaws: oversampling of Democrats, failure to account for the shy Trump vote and often using registered voters rather than likely voters.
There are a few things that show why Biden may be justifiably panicking, as Townhall observes.
First, the fact that young people are not going to be coming out in greater numbers according to a Hill-Harris poll. Every presidential election they pitch to the young and every time, they show they don’t come out.
The young tend skew left. But the left is not particularly enthusiastic about Joe Biden.
Second, according to Zogby, Trump’s approval is up over 51%.
That’s significant because as Gallup notes, historically, “all incumbents with an approval rating of 50% or higher have won reelection, and presidents with approval ratings much lower than 50% have lost.”
Poll Watch also did an interview with Patrick Basham about the Democracy Institute poll, which showed likely voters had Trump leading nationally and which confirmed the “shy Trump vote.”
How big is that “shy Trump vote?” It’s of course hard to say. But Democracy Institute thinks it is even a bigger number than it was the first time, even indicating the shy vote in Maryland in Kim Klacik’s race. That should really worry worry Democrats and that may be part of what is worrying Biden.
Basham explains why Trump suddenly has a chance in New Hampshire.
That’s why Biden rushed people to New Hampshire.
Biden blinked on taking out Osama, but had no problem sending Americans off to endless wars. Trump on the other hand, didn’t blink when he needed to act, taking out Qassem Soleimani and Abu Bakr al Baghdadi but he hasn’t started new wars.
Basham is confident about Trump taking Florida, perhaps the most critical battleground state.
Also don’t assume that a Democratic registration means they’re voting for Biden.
Arizona, which some worried might be flipping blue, isn’t, according to PollWatch.
We’ll find out soon, but let’s hope it’s a completely slam dunk victory to prevent any effort to try to take it away in the courts or any funny business with mail in voting.
Why Communism is Compelled to Destroy Christianity
Most
people today see the division in our country as a political one. But,
in my mind, that particular divide is a puny pixel in a vast screen. For
it is not a mere ideological clash between parties, but a mythic battle
between Spiritual Titans.
Why?
Because it is not so much a difference of policy as it is an existential face-off.
Because
what America was built on, the bones of our civilization—God, grace,
charity, liberty, individualism and self-governance, opportunity
over guarantee, free will—are the counterpoints to everything communist.
Because in order for the left to win the heart of America, it must defeat Christianity and Judaism. Completely.
How
are they doing this? By lying. By cultivating vines with no fruit. By
promising what they can never deliver. By offering wet sand to the
thirsty. And by counting on our sloth in the face of outright deception.
There
are many lies, as many of you know better than I, but these are the
Titanic Deceptions as far as Judeo-Christian civilization is concerned.
Deception #1
Man
can and must attain salvation by himself. This is the essence of the
communist platform, which preaches that humans are alone in the universe
and it’s up to us to do whatever needs to be done. Thus, the party
leaders promise empowerment but deliver us to be disemboweled by the
impossibility of the task. The self-esteem that communism mandates is a
fragile illusion when you have no God, no eternal purpose, when all you
are is a random, accidental sack of cells and bones. In Judaism and
Christianity, we were never created to be alone. We are all partners
with a God Who loves us, sustains us and empowers us. This partnership
must be erased if the state’s dependency programs are to proceed.
Deception #2
A
subset of Deception #1 is the obviously ridiculous belief that humanity
is perfectible by itself; we just need the right systems in place. In
Christianity and Judaism, human nature is bifurcated and flawed. We are
all born equally fallen with chips in our souls. All we have to do is
look at human history to see how truly ridiculous this deception is. We
can make things better, yes, but perfect? I have seen no evidence of
this anywhere.
Deception #3
In
communism, death, disease, and poverty would be completely avoidable if
the state just provided the proper programs, mandated vaccination,
utilized the government for food distribution, provided abortion on
demand, etc…
This
deception is profoundly destabilizing, because there are very few of us
who are not frightened by disease or easily provoked to insecurity,
social or fiscal. What would you give up for “safety from
discomfort/illness?” Whatever you would give up—your liberty, your
ability to see your friends’ faces, your privacy—in exchange for this
false security, it will be a contract with the devil and you will lose
because death is coming for you even after you sign the dotted line. The
communist agenda has no drive train without your fear. If you believe
that there is a Divine Plan and there is nothing to be afraid of, they
have no power. They cannot allow that.
Deception #4
The
state can make you safe. Christians and Orthodox Jews generally
consider this ridiculous. As Fr. Russell Radoicich from Holy Trinity
Serbian Orthodox Church in Butte, MT, stated so clearly, “The Church has
nothing to do with safety. It prepares us for eternity, for our real
lives.” Communist or secular culture has cultivated a fantasy of
immortality with product after product after product designed to keep us
young and sexually vital. If we only eat right, exercise right, and
live right the fantasy can be ours. This is the junction of Marxism and
Madison Avenue, creators of the supreme illusion and it makes the
purveyors of the fantasy very rich indeed.
Deception #5
On
the heels of #4 is the denial of suffering. In secular culture you
suffer because you’ve done something wrong. In Judeo-Christian culture
you suffer because you live in a fallen world. Period. The flesh
eventually fails…for everyone. In recent years the denial of suffering
has been taken further into euthanasia. If you’re not a healthy
proletarian, you’re a dead proletarian. In the Judeo-Christian world a
person who ministers to the “least of these” is one of the most
glorified. Suffering is inevitable for all of us. Compassion is not. It
is a choice.
Deception #6
Humans
are disease vectors. This deception is proliferating at an alarming
rate. We are gloved, visored, hyper-vigilant biological blobs of known
and unknown deadly substances. Instead of seeing the Judeo-Christian
image of the human being—a spiritual masterpiece temporarily clothed in a
frail, fleshly form, a precious individual created by a personal,
loving God—in the communist worldview human beings are blights on an
otherwise perfectible planet. How does a person cultivate any
state-mandated “self-esteem” when he sees himself as an infectious,
merciless murderer of all that is naturally good, a killer of baby seals
and an unredeemable rapist of wilderness?
Deception #7
The
state has your back. Besides being a lie, it fosters the notion that
Charity is no longer an individual responsibility. In communism, the
state takes over and gives the individual the illusion that there is no
longer anything he needs to do.
A
society can and ought to be quite charitable because it is composed of
individuals who follow a moral and religious mandate to give to those in
need. It is no accident that hospitals were developed by the churches.
However, because communism paves over the individual and eliminates
religion or relationship with God, the individual no longer has an
obligation to give. Supposedly, the state is charged with that duty.
Unfortunately, Charity and communism are not the same things, and they
do not converge in the act of “sharing” anything at all.
Socialism/communism is defined as government appropriation or takeover.
And that bureaucratic megalith is not sharing anything with the hungry
masses, as Venezuela, the CCP, and the USSR all demonstrate.
Deception #8
There’s always someone to blame and it’s never you.
In the leftist paradigm, there is always a scapegoat and always someone
pointing the finger. It could be racism, sexism, religionism,
genderism, etc-ism, but it’s never human nature or sin or personal
responsibility. Suffering is not a matter of sin. It is emblematic of
social oppression. The cure is always revolt, violence and replacement.
So far, in the western world, it’s been a mask, or a vaccine, or an
abortion, where there’s always a new cause and we go from hope to
inevitable disappointment because it’s always only a temporal answer.
In
a culture that insists on human-generated utopia, when something fails,
someone has to be blamed. However, Christians and Jews don’t believe
that death is reserved for those who don’t play by the rules or who
don’t exercise or who don’t wear masks. It is a product of a fallen
universe and we are not the ones to fix it. In the meantime, we are
expected to be compassionate, generous, and helpful, doing what we can
to alleviate suffering, not pointing our fingers in a futile attempt to
hang someone in effigy.
The
end result: Communism can never coexist with Judeo-Christianity and a
believing Christian can never be a communist. This is not kindergarten
and the stakes are too high to pretend that we can come to some kind of
U.N.-sponsored “detente,” just be nice and split our worship or devalue
the fundamentals of the Church or this Republic. We kneel to One, and
that is not up for debate.
A mob armed with metal bars and fireworks has attacked a police
station in the suburbs of Paris, officials in the city have said.
An
unidentified group of about 40 people, whose motive was not clear,
tried to storm the police station in Champigny-sur-Marne, about nine
miles (15km) southeast of central Paris.
The mob tried, but failed, to force its way into the building on
Saturday night in the third attack on the station in three years.
Officials said they "weren't far off from a disaster".
Video
posted to social media by police showed a barrage of fireworks going off
in the direction of the station, located in the area of a housing
estate known for drug trafficking.
The Paris police headquarters said on Twitter. "Violent attack last
night on the police station of Champigny with mortar shots and various
projectiles. No police officer was injured."
Nobody was arrested but pictures showed smashed windows at the police station and damaged cars.
The area is deemed by authorities as a high-priority district for order to be restored.
Champigny
Mayor Laurent Jeanne told BFM: "It was an organised attack of about 40
people who wanted to do battle. For a few days it has been tense with
people who have a certain willingness to do battle with the police.
"It's anti-police sentiment. We weren't far off from a disaster."
It's the latest in a number of public order safety incidents in France since the end of the COVID-19 lockdown in mid-May.
Ministers and law enforcement are on heightened alert for increases in crime amid the economic fallout from the coronavirus pandemic.
President
Emmanuel Macron, who faces a presidential election in less than two
years, has been criticised by opponents over crime and public safety
since he took power in 2017.
Opinion polls show that the public see his government as weakest on those issues.
New information has surfaced on Friday giving more insight into why U.S. Attorney John Durham will not be releasing his report detailing the findings of his criminal investigation into the origins of the FBI’s probe into the 2016 Trump campaign. The investigation so far has resulted in one conviction, but it is not yet clear if others involved in the Russia investigation will face charges.
CBS News Senior Investigative Correspondent Catherine Herridge indicated in a series of tweets that two factors have slowed down the investigation. The first issue is the COVID-19 pandemic, which has hampered the operations of many different organizations. Second, and most interesting, is the fact that Durham’s investigation “expanded in recent weeks,” and it is now going “well beyond origins of FBI Russia probe.”
“This includes Sept 2016 CIA investigative referral to FBI over alleged 3rd party discussion of HRC approved plan ‘concerning candidate Trump + Russian hackers’ + Brennan notes,” Herridge added. “Separately, official told @CBSNews that if there is a probability of future prosecutions stemming from Durham then there cannot be a report released prior to that. The official would not comment as to whether potential prosecutions are in the works.”
The reporter’s comments come amid reports that Attorney General William Barr informed top Republicans that the Justice Department’s probe into the origins of the Russia investigation would not be released prior to the election. According to Axios, Barr said Durham is working in a deliberate and calculated fashion, and they need to be patient. The general sense of the talks, the source says, is that Durham is not preoccupied with completing his probe by a certain deadline for political purposes.”
The news about the expanded scope of the investigation to include the CIA investigative referral comes shortly after Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe declassified documents detailing information that intelligence agencies procured in 2016.
“U.S. intelligence agencies obtained insight into Russian intelligence analysis alleging that U.S. Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton had approved a campaign plan to stir up a scandal against U.S. Presidential candidate Donald Trump by tying him to Putin and the Russians’ hacking of the Democratic National Committee,” the document explained. “The IC does not know the accuracy of this allegation or the extent to which the Russian intelligence analysis may reflect exaggeration or fabrication.”
The document continued, “On 07 September 2016, U.S. intelligence officials forwarded an investigative referral to FBI Director James Comey and Deputy Assistant Director of Counterintelligence Peter Strzok regarding ‘U.S. Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s approval of a plan concerning U.S. Presidential candidate Donald Trump and Russian hackers hampering U.S. elections as a means of distracting the public from her use of a private mail server.’”
Ratcliffe later declassified information revealing that former CIA Director John Brennan briefed then-President Barack Obama on the information they had obtained.
For the time being, it appears that we must play the waiting game for longer when it comes to Durham’s investigation. But it seems that many are beginning to lose faith in the probe as it seems that nobody who engaged in wrongdoing will face justice. If Biden manages to defeat Trump in November, it is almost certain that the agents who abused their positions will get off scot-free. In the end, this whole investigation business might just turn out to be a useless exercise.
When it was reported several days ago that a plot to kidnap Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer was foiled by the FBI, the media kicked into high gear. They were sure the culprits were MAGA loving Trump supporters and also white supremacists. In fact, we even had some cable news analysts suggesting Trump should be charged as a co-conspirator (see Hot Take: MSNBC Analyst Wants to Charge Trump in Gov. Whitmer Kidnapping Plot)
It turns out that anarchists have a lot more in common with the left and Antifa than they do with Trump supporters. Want more proof of that? We are now learning that another plotter was a Black Lives Matter supporter and may have been partially motivated by George Floyd’s death.
This is a complete turn from the way the media painted this early on.
In fact, Trump was found to be so irrelevant in this case that the only mention the Post could come up with was to say this.
The media will never tell you the truth. It’s cliche and it gets old having to continuously point it out, but that’s the reality we live in. It would have been incredibly easy for everyone to keep their powder dry and wait for the facts. Instead, we got insane pronouncements that Trump had essentially directed this plot. In the end, at least some of the plotters had left-wing sensibilities and hated Trump. Heck, I’m struggling to find any evidence any of them were even white supremacists.
But the go to is always to cry racism and blame the orange man. I won’t blame BLM for this because their leaders can’t control what some random supporters go do. I will say that the double standard here is getting really old. If we are going to rush and blame Republicans for every action by someone who might hold right-leaning sympathies, and in this case, even when they don’t, then the left should have to play by the same rules.
Article by Clarice Feldman in The American Thinker
Lift up the Rocks and See the Snakes
As
media polls continue to mislead about the state of the presidential
race, there are many reasons to believe the Democrats are crazed with
fear that they will be trounced more soundly this time -- as they should
be, given their nominees. Here are some indicators to me: The majority
of voters think they are better off now than they were four years ago;
the crowds at Trump rallies are enormous and Biden can barely pull a
10-person minyan; outside of university towns there are few Biden-Harris
signs up, but American flags (a safe sign when Trump signs would be
stolen) are seen waving on front lawns and guns are flying off the
shelves to people who have lost faith in their elected local officials
to protect them. There are more, of course, but believe what the media
would call your own lying eyes.
The
President has been fighting idiotic policies and corruption bit by bit
across both aisles, but it’s hard to find any institution that could
pass a smell test. This week is no exception. We learned the Department
of Defense has been forcing the troops to undergo anti-American
propaganda; the VOA had peddled a video of Biden attacking the police
and calling for jihad; and the Commission on Presidential Debates has
ruined its reputation forever and is likely to never again be seen after
this year.
The Department of Defense
Judicial
Watch filed a FOIA to force the Pentagon to disclose its training
manual. If you are not shocked to read what almost $20 million of your
tax money has been paying for, I’d be surprised. Here are some tidbits
to give you the tenor of this outrageous program
which is inflammatory anti-white, anti-heterosexual, anti-American
propaganda at its very core. I cannot imagine what could destroy troop
cohesion and morale more than this program does:
The
teaching materials include “Student Study Guides” written for “Equal
Opportunity Advisor Courses,” that are critical of persons who “believe
that human similarities are more important than differences;” advise
people to acknowledge their privilege when “it is pointed out to them;”
claim that heterosexuals have “sexual orientation privilege;” and that
“religious privilege” exists. [snip] Students are also taught that there
is “sexual orientation privilege”
associated with the “marginalization of non-heterosexual lifestyles and
the view that heterosexuality is the normal sexual orientation.”
The guide advises that “some dominant group members” may claim “personal achievement mostly depends on personal ability.”
The study guide also teaches that people who raise religious objections to
homosexual marriage are engaged in a form of discrimination called
“principium,” which is “avoiding exploration based on a religious or
personal principle:”
In order to “become personally aware of privilege,” the study guide advises people to “decode your social identity.”
In a chapter on diversity, the guide is critical of those who engage in “minimization,” which it defines as those who believe that “human similarities are more important than differences.”
The guide notes that
“Statistics show Whites are the majority in senior leadership positions
(i.e., flag officers, general officers, and Senior Executive Service)
and lend itself [sic] to the perpetuation of racism.”
An example of “modern racism” is saying things like “Discrimination is a thing of the past… tactics and demands of activists are unfair … racism is bad.”
The document also states that another form of racism is “aversive racism.” Aversive racists, say the authors, “put high value on egalitarian beliefs.”
In a chart labeled “Racist Behavior”
the authors break racism into “traditional,” “symbolic,” “modern” and
“aversive” categories, in which modern racists believe minorities are
“undeserving of special efforts to redress past inequities.” The chart
also indicates that people who oppose “policies designed to address
racial equality” or feel that those policies are violations of “norms
and fairness” are modern racists. [snip] The guide advises Equal
Opportunity Advisors to: “Acknowledge your privilege when it is pointed
out to you.” They are also told that, “Privilege will never go away
until the systems in our society that cause discrimination go away,” and
suggests that the equal opportunity advisors “work to make those
inequitable systems visible.”
While
deriding the stereotyping of people, the manual nevertheless is full of
stereotyping of women, whites, Asians, heterosexuals, and those who
believe a person should be judged on his merit, not his race, sex, or
ethnicity.
Voice of America
In July, Joe Biden gave a Zoom speech to a Moslem group in which he derided the police and called for jihad.
Our federally funded Voice of America operation translated it into Urdu
and distributed it in Pakistan, but was forced to withdraw it a week
later after complaints were raised. An in-house “investigation” placed
the blame on four contractors who were not fired, as it was “a first
offense.”
The
ad for Biden was produced and distributed by an outfit called Million
Moslem Votes. Who constitutes this group? Per research by Yaacov
Apelbaum: “Beside the obvious characters like [Ilhan] Omar, [Rashida]
Tlaib, and [Linda] Sarsour, we have Wa’el AlZayat, who worked for Samantha Powers (the unmasker in chief) in State, and Abdul Al-Sayed and Hassan Shibly.”
Voice
of America is a global news network funded by American taxpayers. It
spends about $200 million each year on its mission to “tell America’s
story” and “present the policies of the United States clearly and
effectively” to people around the globe.
Today, however, VOA too often speaks for America’s adversaries -- not its citizens.
The Coronavirus pandemic is no exception. Secrecy from the Communist Party of China allowed the deadly virus to spread across the world.
Journalists
should report the facts, but VOA has instead amplified Beijing’s
propaganda. This week, VOA called China’s Wuhan lockdown a successful
“model” copied by much of the world -- and then tweeted out video of the Communist government’s celebratory light show marking the quarantine’s alleged end.
Even worse, while much of the U.S. media takes its lead from China, VOA went one step further: It created graphics with Communist government statistics to
compare China’s Coronavirus death toll to America’s. As intelligence
experts point out, there is simply no way to verify the accuracy of
China’s numbers.
The
Coronavirus story is just one example of this pattern. Last year, VOA
helped highlight the Twitter feed of Iran Foreign Minister Javad Zarif
while he was issuing threats against the U.S. and sharing Russian anti-U.S. propaganda videos.
“VOA will represent America,” its
guiding Charter reads. And for years after its founding during World
War II, VOA served that mission by promoting freedom and democracy
across the world for audiences who longed for both.
Today, VOA is promoting propaganda instead—and your tax dollars are paying for it.
The Commission on Presidential Debates
Another pile of snakes under the rock was exposed this week when the Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD)--
without notice to the President -- announced it was changing the format
of the forthcoming scheduled debate and making it a virtual debate, not
a live one. Of course, such a move suggests the President is infirm and
infectious and gives the feeble Biden a great opportunity to cheat out
of eyeshot. This sneaky move by the commission comes after the partisan
performance of the “moderators” it chose for the presidential and
vice-presidential debates. Former Senator Bob Dole tweeted that he was
friends with the Republican members of the bipartisan CPD and all of
them were anti-Trump.
In 2008, the Center for Public Integrity labeled the Commission on Presidential Debates a “secretive tax-exempt organization.”
The committee raises the bulk of its funds through private donors which have never been disclosed.
The personal views of board members is also a point of contention.
Republican
National Committee chairwoman Ronna McDaniel on Thursday accused the
organization of holding a grudge against the current president.
“This
is not a nonpartisan commission. It is filled with Republicans who have
been very critical of this President and a large group of Democrats,”
McDaniel told Fox News anchor Sandra Smith.
McDaniel
pointed to negative remarks made by board members Olympia Snowe, a
former GOP senator from Maine who in 2016 said Trump was “hurting our
brand,” and John Danforth, the former GOP senator from Missouri, who
said Trump was “the most divisive president in our history.”
“These
are not Republicans who support this candidate and they are not on a
nonpartisan commission and they are affecting the election right now,”
she said.
But
the trouble for the CPD not only involved their ploy of changing the
rules without notice and consistently choosing biased moderators. It
turns out the moderator for the scheduled debate, C-SPAN’s political
director Steve Scully (a former Biden intern and Ted Kennedy staffer),
tipped his hand. He tweeted to Anthony Scaramucci, no ally of the
President, seeking advice on what to ask Trump.
When caught out, he deleted the tweet and claimed he’d been hacked.
“He was hacked, it didn’t happen,” stated Chairman Frank Fahrenkopf.
C-SPAN also claimed that Scully did not originate the tweet.
Chris
Wallace, the moderator of the first presidential debate, with no
evidence at all, also accepted the hacking claim, something Scully had claimed on two earlier occasions when people were critical of things he had tweeted.
Reportedly the FBI was called in to investigate. I’ll make it easy for them -- actually Yaacov Apelbaum did: The tweet came from Scully’s own phone:
Using
XRVision, we were able to determine that the tweet noted above on
October 8th came from Scully’s verified Twitter account and a phone
associated with number (XXX) XXX-7956, Scully’s number.
Scully’s
assertion that his Twitter account was hacked doesn’t add up with the
evidence. The tweet in question came from his iPhone. It would have
been exceedingly difficult to execute this type of a remote exploit on
his iPhone. This is due to the fact that phones are in frequent use and
the loss of access to a device would be easily noticeable by the user.
To exploit his iPhone and control it remotely for the purpose of using
it to post a tweet would require significant resources, skills, be
risky, and easy to trace.
You
can believe that people with the power to act for you with taxpayer
funded and tax-exempt money just fell asleep at the switch and missed
these gross departures from their missions, or you can believe, as I do,
that there’s a lot of institutional rot -- more than we can expect one
man, the President, to root it out in a few years.
