Dan Bongino Identifies Several Overlooked Details in the Flynn Case, ‘It Was Worse Than We Thought’

 AP featured image
Article by Elizabeth Vaughn in "RedState":

Dan Bongino opened his podcast today by telling his viewers of a text message he received on Wednesday night from a friend who asked, “What country do we even live in anymore?”

Good question.

As the dust settled after last night’s “earthquake” in the FBI’s fraudulent case against Gen. Michael Flynn, an understandably angry Bongino presented his viewers with a complete history of the case. For those who might be unfamiliar with the backstory, Dan provides “the how and the why of it” in the video below. (Episode #1240) In the process, he hits upon several details to which very little, if any, attention has been paid. I will be addressing those points in this post.

The deep state and the mainstream media have always had a symbiotic relationship, but until candidate Donald Trump came on the scene in 2015, it’s never been quite this evident.

The media played a critical role in promoting the Russian collusion hoax and most of the time, they were well aware of this. But at other times, they may not have realized they were seen simply as “useful idiots” by deep state operatives who needed them to advance their agendas.

In an October 24, 2019 filing, Flynn’s lawyers allege that Col. James Baker, Director of the Office of Net Assessment at the Pentagon (ONA), leaked copies of the transcripts from Flynn’s December 2016 telephone calls to then-Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak to the The Washington Post’s David Ignatius, with whom Baker had regularly scheduled lunches.

The filing also claims that then-Director of National Intelligence James Clapper called Ignatius on or before January 10, 2017 and said “words to the effect of ‘Take the kill shot on Flynn.’”
On January 12, 2017, Ignatius did indeed take the kill shot and published an article about Flynn’s phone calls with Kislyak. This often cited piece marked the beginning of Flynn’s current troubles.

(To my knowledge, it has not yet been proven that Baker leaked the transcripts. But, whomever it was who did leak this material has committed a felony.)

Next, Bongino highlighted an article which had obviously been planted for political purposes. On January 23, 2017, the day before FBI agents arrived at the White House to interview Gen. Flynn, two Washington Post reporters, likely unwittingly, reprised their roles as useful idiots and performed an indispensable service. Ellen Nakashima and Greg Miller wrote an article entitled “FBI reviewed Flynn’s calls with Russian ambassador but found nothing illicit.”

FBI agents knew the article would put Flynn at ease, make him more willing to speak with them. Flynn would be less apt to request a lawyer and likely wouldn’t request that the FBI go through the proper channels, the White House Counsel’s office, to set up an interview, Bongino explained.

Obviously, they were right, because when the agents arrived at the White House, they reported that Flynn had been relaxed and genial. He viewed them as his allies. He didn’t realize they had come for an ambush.

This article was published for one reason, Bongino told viewers, to get Flynn to let his guard down, to soften him up. He said, “That article is damning…Both of these things can’t be true. The article in The Washington Post said there was nothing illicit about the calls. That can’t be true if the next day, the FBI went to interview Flynn about illicit calls…Either they were illicit or they weren’t…And you should be asking yourself why would they leak that to two useful idiots in the media like Nakashima and Miller. Because they knew they’d print it. And they knew Flynn would read it. And they knew Flynn’s guard [would be] down.”

Bongino pointed out another consequential detail at the bottom of the cover letter which accompanied the documents that were turned over to Flynn’s legal team last Friday. He credits the anonymous lawyer who posts on Twitter as “Techno Fog” for spotting this.

If you scroll down to the bottom of the first page in the Scribd document below, you’ll notice the following notation in the footnote: (DOJSCO-700023473 – DOJSCO700023475)
DOJSCO: Department of Justice, Special Counsel Office?

Does this mean the Special Counsel’s office had these documents all along? The ones they said they didn’t have? It sure looks that way.

Bongino says, “So what you’re telling me Techno, who is always light years ahead of the case, is that the Bob Mueller Special Counsel team may have already had the documents they turned over? Wouldn’t that be a little diamond in the rough?…When does the Bob Mueller/Andy Weissman investigation start?

Finally, Bongino told viewers that “Motives Matter.” He looked at why Flynn had become a target of the Obama Administration. First, he featured an article written by Michael Ledeen in May 2019 which appeared in The Washington Examiner. Ledeen writes:

He was essentially fired from the Defense Intelligence Agency by Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, who told him he should retire. This came on the heels of Flynn’s sworn congressional testimony criticizing the Obama administration’s failed Afghanistan policy. This showed, once again, that Flynn understood how badly we were doing, and would not collude with the intelligence community. Indeed, he intended to carry out an audit of covert funding since the creation of the Central Intelligence Agency (none has been done in all those years).

A second reason for their animosity toward Flynn was his very vocal opposition to the Iran deal, which Obama saw as his signature negotiation.

Next, Bongino featured an article written by John Solomon and Sara Carter in July 2017. Two years earlier, Flynn had intervened on behalf of a decorated counterterrorism agent who had accused then Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe and other top officials of sexual discrimination.

For these and I’m sure other similar reasons, many Obama Administration officials, including Obama himself, felt that “Flynn had to go down.”

On November 10, 2016, two days after President Trump’s stunning victory over Hillary Clinton, he met with President Obama in the Oval Office for a 90 minute meeting. Former White House officials later told NBC News that Obama warned the President-elect about two individuals. The first was Kim Jong Un. And the other was Gen. Michael Flynn.

Sidney Powell Discusses the Latest FBI Documents in The Flynn Case

creditsundance at cth

Michael Flynn’s defense attorney appears for a brief interview with Sean Hannity to discuss the recently unsealed documents showing FBI strategic planning to target Lt. Gen Flynn prior to their interview on January 24, 2017.  WATCH:

A few notes of caution.  Don’t fall into the outrage trap; the DOJ will certainly justify the FBI notes as a valid discussion on investigative strategy, nothing more.

Second, Bill Barr did not appoint Missouri Attorney Jensen in an effort to support General Flynn.  AG Barr was ordered by the FISA court to review every case and all evidence that touched upon the fraudulent Carter Page FISA application.  Be careful about projecting a motive onto Bill Barr around these revelations.  Without that FISC ordered sequestration review order; the DOJ/FBI may not have moved on this.

Lastly, despite the known corruption within the existing FBI leadership{outlined here}, and we can now add the FBI hiding these documents for 3 years, AG Bill Barr continues to pour effusive praise upon the FBI.  That reality doesn’t reconcile with a good intent.

When the FISA Court responded to the DOJ Inspector General report in December and January 2020 they requested an action plan from the DOJ and FBI to respond to the issues raised about misrepresentations to the court.

The DOJ/FBI replied to the FISA Court admitting the last two FISA renewals (April, June ’17) used against Carter Page were insufficiency predicated while withholding opinion on the original application (Oct ’16) and first renewal (Jan ’17).

To address the consequences of fraudulently obtained FISA warrants the DOJ and FBI informed the court they would begin a process to “sequester” all collected evidence from all four FISA warrants. [FISA COURT LINK]

Sequestering the evidence is essentially a search for what investigative material the FISA warrants were used to obtain; ie. the search for the fruit of the poisoned tree; and then a review of all DOJ/FBI cases that may have utilized that investigative material.

In late January the DOJ contacted the FISA court and asked for an extension to the deadline.  The FISA court granted an extension until February 5th [LINK]  The final response from the DOJ has not been declassified or released by the FISC for public review.

However, with media reporting of AG Barr using “outside prosecutors” to review current, former and ongoing cases, it simply makes sense this ‘outsider’ effort is part of the DOJ/FBI sequestration review.

If you consider that several DOJ offices may be involved with the material under review, including the Southern District of New York; The Eastern District of New York; The Eastern District of Virginia; The Washington DC District, and even Main Justice itself; it makes sense that outside DOJ personnel would be needed for this review.

Additionally, all of the various FBI field offices who may have used the FISA authorizations as the underpinning evidence to gain separate Title-1 and/or Title-3 warrants, wiretaps or National Security Letters, in their various investigative cases would also need to be reviewed.   This is an aspect the media is not discussing while they write opinions about AG Bill Barr bringing in outside DOJ attorneys.

The media are framing the use of outside attorneys as Bill Barr working on behalf of President Trump to undermine current and former prosecutions.  However, understanding the FISC order requiring the sequestration effort, the use of outsiders is absolutely necessary.

The same U.S. Attorneys, prosecutors and FBI agents who used evidence gathered from the FISA warrants cannot be the same attorneys, agents and prosecutors making decisions about what parts of the warrants were used to gather evidence and how each part of any case was assembled by the use therein.  It is a simple matter of a conflict of interest.

Additionally, the Robert Mueller team of FBI investigators and special counsel prosecutors certainly used the fraudulently obtained FISA warrants as part of their investigative evidence collection.   Common sense would tell us this had to be the case or the FBI and Mueller team would not have requested renewals of the FISA warrant.

If the FBI & Special Counsel were not using the FISA warrant(s) to capture information, they would not have needed them renewed.  Despite media spin to the contrary, the simple truth of renewals holding investigative value is evident in the renewal itself (ie. common sense).

Under this rather extensive effort to find exactly which investigations -over the course of three years- were touched directly, or indirectly, by the four FISA warrants; and/or which investigative paths may have been influenced downstream or enhanced -by varying degrees of importance- by evidence stemming from the FISA warrants; a reasonable person could see how AG Bill Barr would need to put a team together to retrace the investigative steps and make the sequestration determinations.

Obviously, for reasons of biased intent, corporate left-wing media would like to ignore why outside prosecutors are needed under this framework.  Ignored in part because honest reporting would require an admission the FISA warrants were fraudulently obtained; and in part because the left-wing media have never informed the public of the DOJ/FBI sequestration effort in the first place.  Likely more than half the country has no idea the DOJ and FBI have been told to go find the material.

There have been numerous articles, thousands of words, and endless hours of pundit protestations about Bill Barr using outside DC lawyers to review all of the previous DOJ Attorney activities; yet not a single time have they ever acknowledged the originating order from the FISA court requiring the DOJ/FBI to conduct the review.   Imagine that?

New York Times – Mr. Barr has also installed a handful of outside prosecutors to broadly review the handling of other politically sensitive national-security cases in the U.S. attorney’s office in Washington, the people said. The team includes at least one prosecutor from the office of the United States attorney in St. Louis, Jeff Jensen, who is handling the Flynn matter, as well as prosecutors from the office of the deputy attorney general, Jeffrey A. Rosen. (more

Likewise, considering AG Barr has been ordered by the court to review all the targets, cases and evidence, we should not be projecting an altruistic “clean up” effort…

Arguably, one could say Barr is being forced to reopen, and revisit, all of this material.  Certainly Bill Barr would not willingly expose the corrupt intents of his friends Robert Mueller and Rod Rosenstein…. So we should watch carefully.

It would certainly be ironic if the FISA court ends-up in 2020 as the least corrupt institution within a DC network fraught with institutional corruption.

When it comes to DC politics, we cannot be too cynical.

Ben Shapiro: Biden assault allegations – media's double standard matters and this is why

WATCH: Jill Biden Talks "True Leadership" as Joe Looks On in ...
Article by Ben Shapiro in "Fox News":

This week, new evidence emerged in the sexual assault allegation by former Joe Biden staffer Tara Reade against the presumptive 2020 Democratic presidential nominee.

According to Business Insider, four people have stated that Reade told them contemporaneously about her accusation that Biden forcibly penetrated her with his fingers in 1993. Meanwhile, the Media Research Center uncovered a clip, purportedly of Reade's mother, calling into "Larry King Live" back in 1993 to obliquely refer to the allegation.

While such evidence does not speak to the actual event at issue, it does demonstrate that Reade has been talking about the alleged incident since it occurred.

The media ignored the original allegation for weeks. Now, even while reporting on the new developments, they've found ways to downplay their importance. Thus, The Washington Post –democracy dies in darkness! – wrote an article headlined "Trump allies highlight new claims regarding allegations against Biden."

Normally, headlines are designed to convey information about the underlying story. This headline was apparently written in English, translated to Swahili and then to Punjabi via Google Translate and then back to English before printing.

Other news outlets skipped the revelations altogether. The New York Times, which ran a comprehensive piece two weeks ago attempting to debunk Reade's case, completely ignored the new information. NBC News didn't bother covering the information either.

Meanwhile, NBC News and MSNBC Chairman Andy Lack printed a piece on the network website celebrating its journalistic performance. "Humbled by the responsibility we bear, we try our damnedest to serve our audience," he said. It's a wonder Lack didn't dislocate both arms trying desperately to pat himself on the back.

As of this writing, Biden has not been asked a single direct question about Reade by a television reporter. Meanwhile, members of the media cheer their audacity in asking President Donald Trump questions like, "If an American president loses more Americans over the course of six weeks than died in the entirety of the Vietnam War, does he deserve to be reelected?" So. Much. Journalisming.

The same media who laureled Democrats for cashiering Kavanaugh and now spend their days studiously avoiding any talk about Tara Reade deserve every ounce of skepticism the American people can muster.

Why does any of this matter? Not because Biden should be convicted in the court of public opinion without evidence. He shouldn't. The standards of due process should apply evenly, regardless of partisanship.

Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh should not have been subjected to thousands of hit pieces, magazine covers and twisted accusations that his anger at rape accusations he disputed was mere evidence of his privilege. Christine Blasey Ford should not have been celebrated nationwide as a symbol of truth-telling without any corroborative evidence. #BelieveAllWomen was always an idiotic slogan. Only now are members of the media admitting it.

That's why this matters.

Biden's candidacy will survive Tara Reade: Democrats aren't dumping Biden overboard based on a 27-year-old accusation of questionable veracity, and they certainly won't do so when running against Trump, who has his own checkered history.

But the media's pathetically hypocritical standard on due process and sexual assault allegations won't survive. Neither will their credibility.

President Trump spends an inordinate amount of time bashing the media for their lack of seriousness. The same media who laureled Democrats for cashiering Kavanaugh and now spend their days studiously avoiding any talk about Tara Reade deserve every ounce of skepticism the American people can muster.

There's a serio-comic tenor to this whole situation. We're living in a time when we must trust the media more than ever – to bring us unbiased, factual information about a global pandemic, to warn us of dangers and to be reasonable about risk assessment. Yet the media have spent so many years burning through their credibility that they have little left. That's their own fault.

If they wish to restore their credibility, they could start by apologizing for their Kavanaugh coverage – and by providing some fact-checking about their own political motivations.

Conservative Leaders Press Trump to ‘Hold the Chinese Communist Party Responsible’ for Coronavirus

A woman holding a Chinese national flag films Chinese military planes fly in formation past the sun during a parade to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the founding of Communist China in Beijing, Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2019. China's Communist Party is celebrating its 70th anniversary in power with a parade …
Article by Matthew Boyle in "Breitbart":

A group of top conservative movement leaders are calling on President Donald Trump to hold the Chinese Community Party responsible for the coronavirus pandemic plaguing the United States and the world.

In a letter and a formal White House petition, the conservative leaders are pushing Trump to escalate tensions with Beijing as the United States slowly reopens nationwide after the coronavirus crisis rocked the country with more than a month’s worth of lockdowns.

The conservative leaders wrote in a letter to the president:

We believe that the Chinese Communist Party is responsible for this pandemic. China is the most significant threat facing America today, and the American people across party lines believe that China should be treated as the pariah state that it is. As conservative leaders, we urge you to hold the Chinese Communist Party responsible by taking immediate actions to reduce our dependence on Chinese manufacturing of medical products, investigate the extent of China’s role in spreading the pandemic, and stop federal funding for universities with Confucius Institutes. As you take tough action against China to protect the American people, you will have our full support and the support of the American people.

The signers of the letter include Americans for Limited Government president Rick Manning, Liberty Consulting president Ginni Thomas, Eagle Forum president Eunie Smith, National Association of Scholars president Peter Wood, the American Family Association’s Sandy Rios, ConservativeHQ’s George Rasley, Lopez Liberty’s Clare Lopez, Rally Forge’s Jake Hoffman, the Competitive Enterprise Institute’s Myron Ebell, Jessie Jane Duff of the London Center for Policy Research, the National Center for Public Policy Research’s Justin Danhof, and author Dr. Tim Daughtry.

Accompanying the broader letter is a formal White House petition uploaded to the White House website. To get a formal response from the White House, the petition would need 100,000 signatures by May 28. Those interested in signing the petition can do so on the White House website.

“Communist China Is An Existential Threat To Freedom & Americans Stand With President Trump To Hold Them Accountable,” is the title of the White House petition. The petition reads:

President Trump, you have long recognized that the Chinese Communist Party is a grave threat to the security and prosperity of the United States. We ask that you: Issue an executive order to eliminate our dependence on China for manufacturing important pharmaceutical and medical products. Create an investigative team to assess the Chinese Communist Party’s role in covering up and spreading the pandemic. Restrict China’s influence on our universities. As you take tough action against China to protect the American people, you will have our full support and the support of the American people.

The petition also links to the broader three-page letter.

The letter continues after that opening paragraph by detailing how China is responsible for the spread of the virus:

China’s role in causing this pandemic is indisputable. News reports suggest that the U.S. Government finds it highly likely the virus originated from a lab accident at the Wuhan Institute of Virology Lab which was immediately covered up by the Chinese Communist Party. The Chinese Communist Party arrested Dr. Li Wenliang who tried to warn the world about the Wuhan virus. China pressured the World Health Organization to ignore warnings from Taiwan about the outbreak that could have given the rest of the world weeks to prepare. China informed the World Health Organization in mid-January that there was no evidence the Wuhan virus could be transmitted by humans, despite knowing how the Wuhan virus was spreading by mid-December.

They also noted that when Trump cut off flights from China to the United States, China was still letting people leave Wuhan for other countries but not for other areas of China. They wrote:

In January, China cut off the Hubei province from the rest of China, but continued to allow international flights out of China, which can only be interpreted as an attempt to spread the Wuhan virus. Throughout January and February, the Chinese Communist Party hoarded the global market of personal protective equipment, leaving other nations unprepared. Then, China sold millions of broken and faulty tests to the world, exacerbating the crisis in countries that were most affected by the Wuhan virus. Today, China is refusing to allow American companies to ship protective equipment out of China to deal with the pandemic that was created by China.

In the next section, the conservative leaders note that China has a long history of troubling behavior—and this pandemic is just the most recent example of that:

This pandemic has killed hundreds of thousands and nearly shut down the global economy. But this is only the latest example of the Chinese Communist Party’s malignant presence. For years, China has flooded the United States with fentanyl, exacerbating the opioid crisis and killing hundreds of thousands. The Chinese Communist Party’s state-sponsored theft of American intellectual property costs between $225 billion and $600 billion annually. One study found that since 2001, 3.7 million U.S. jobs were lost to China, as U.S. manufacturing firms struggle to compete against China’s slave labor and lack of respect for intellectual property. For decades, the Chinese Communist Party targeted America’s drug manufacturers, and now a large share of generic drugs come from China. In addition to the damage China does to the rest of the world, the Chinese Communist Party is a murderous dictatorship reminiscent of the worst regimes of the 20th century. China’s one-child policy led to millions of forced abortions. China sends millions of religious minorities to concentration camps, and arrests Christians for practicing their faith. China harvests organs from political prisoners to benefit the Chinese Communist Party. Even today, when the world’s eyes are on China’s crimes, the Chinese Communist Party is openly persecuting Africans.

The conservative leaders continued the letter with a three-step action plan for President Trump to hold China accountable.

First, they asked Trump to sign an executive order “to eliminate our dependence on China for manufacturing important pharmaceutical and medical products.”

Second, they asked the president to create a team to investigate China’s role in spreading and covering up the coronavirus pandemic. “This work should be led by the United States but can include representatives from other countries that were harmed by the Chinese Communist Party’s spreading of this pandemic,” they wrote.

Third, they called on Trump to restrict Chinese influence in American universities. They wrote:

The Department of Education should block any federal funds from going to a university that has a Confucius Institute funded by the Chinese Communist Party. These institutes give the Chinese Communist Party an outpost on campuses to recruit spies, steal intellectual property, and monitor Chinese students studying on campus

They concluded the letter by noting that if Trump takes these steps he believes the American people will be behind him, “We believe that tens of millions of conservatives would stand behind you in standing up to China,” they wrote. “And polling suggests that most Americans of all political parties recognize the threat posed by the Chinese Communist Party. Only 3% of Americans consider China an ally, and 58% recognize that China is unfriendly or an enemy. 90% of Republicans and 67% of Democrats agree that China is responsible for the spread of the Wuhan virus, and the majority of Americans agree that China should pay reparations. Taking on the Chinese Communist Party is the right thing to do, and Americans will stand behind you.”

China's global growth in jeopardy as Beijing blasts allies amid coronavirus crisis

Rebel Without a Country – Foreign Policy
Article written by Barnini Chakraborty in "Fox News":

China's extraordinary, five decades-long run of global growth and financial dominance is being put to the test following its very public bungling of the coronavirus crisis.

The country, which has the world's second-largest economy following the United States, has become increasingly isolated over its response to COVID-19, and has been the go-to target for anger and blame during a pandemic that has infected more than 3 million people worldwide, shut down governments, bankrupted businesses and closed schools.

China's mishandling of the outbreak, complete with widespread allegations of coverups and flat-out lies, has damaged China's credibility and standing on the global stage and could hit the country much harder than expected as nations around the world restart their economies.

China's economy contracted by 6.8 percent in the first three months of 2020 -- its biggest plunge in nearly three decades. Its output was down 8.4 percent from the year before and retail sales fell 19 percent as the country went on lockdown.

China, which has enjoyed a remarkable and perhaps reckless rise in economic growth, could be on the verge of losing it.

One of the biggest challenges facing China is the acceleration of a global value chain realignment, which could hit China's job market in the short term and affect Beijing's standing in the global economy, the South China Morning Post reported in its five-part series exploring the global backlash against China.

Huang Qifan, the former mayor of Chonqing, a city in southwest-central China, said in a speech this month that the traditional horizontal distribution of the global value chain was facing an overhaul because coronavirus had uncovered its weakness.

"The pandemic has exposed weak links in the old globalization model... China and other countries must rethink and readjust global industrial layout," he said. "However, the adjustment is not a total negation of globalization... such a move would be shooting one's own foot. The right approach is to open further, instead of taking a 180-degree turn."

That might be easier said than done.

China, like every other country battling COVID-19, has been hit economically. Consumption and production plummeted when its workers and consumers were ordered to stay home; when the official data started to roll in, it wasn't a pretty picture.

Several economists have slashed their forecasts for China's GDP (gross domestic product), predicting a sharp contraction and low single-digit growth for 2020. Last year, the country's GDP growth rate was 6.1 percent, the slowest since 1990. Industrial production and retail sales have also posted record double-digit drops this year.
"Even if you do see an extraordinary level of domestic resiliency -- which I should point out is not yet evident in any of our data -- the global spread of COVID-19 has shut down all of China's major trading partners at just the wrong time," Leland Miller, chief executive officer of China Beige Book, told CNBC.

Miller, whose firm publishes a quarterly review of the economy based on a survey of more than 3,000 Chinese businesses, added: "No matter what Beijing engineers domestically, the growth rate will be capped significantly by what's transpiring across the rest of the world."

COVID-19 was first reported in Wuhan, China. Beijing has been accused of downplaying the virus, silencing doctors and significantly rounding down the number of cases and fatalities it had. The move infuriated the international community because it had relied on China to accurately report its findings so they could prepare as the novel coronavirus spread across the world.

In a sea of criticism, China initially tried to repair its tattered image and boost its standing by launching an ill-fated humanitarian campaign that showcased Beijing and its leader President Xi Jinping in a new light.

China's propaganda machines geared up and reported on gestures of goodwill between Beijing and the rest of the world. Millions of masks, personal protective equipment (PPE) and coronavirus test kits were sent out, and China declared it would lead the fight against COVID-19.

Then came the accusations that China hiked up the prices of medical equipment and supplies. Multiple countries complained about forking over small fortunes for masks and kits that weren't up to standards and began asking China for refunds, which didn't go over well.

China blamed user error for some of the malfunctions and said it would launch an investigation, but since then, things have gone steadily downhill. Spain, for example, got a double dose of poorly-made China test kits and announced it would be sending back the faulty coronavirus tests that were supposed to be replacements for the first faulty batch the country bought from China.

China has also ramped up its anti-American rhetoric, frequently taking shots at Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and other U.S. politicians.

To be fair, the United States has taken plenty of its own swipes at China, including floating a theory that the virus escaped from a Wuhan lab.  President Trump has referred to COVID-19 as the "Chinese virus," and politicians such as Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., have made the media rounds arguing China is criminally negligent and responsible for thousands of deaths around the world.

In recent days, other countries have started to pile on and the consensus has been growing that the more China engages in fights or threatens economic retaliation, the greater the chance it has of the world turning against them.

Most recently, China seems to have undercut its own diplomacy with Australia, threatening it with a boycott.

China is Australia's largest trading partner. Australia recently pushed for an international investigation into the origin of the novel coronavirus. The probe into the pandemic angered Beijing so much that it prompted nasty "threats of economic coercion" by China's ambassador to Australia, who accused the country of playing politics with coronavirus.

"Maybe the ordinary people will say 'Why should we drink Australian wine? Eat Australian beef?'" The Australian Financial Review reported Ambassador Chen Jingye as saying.

When Australia pushed back, Hu Xijin, editor-in-chief of the Global Times, threatened in a tweet: "Let me give a 'coercion' to Australia. As its attitude toward China becomes worse and worse, Chinese companies will definitely reduce economic cooperation with Australia, and the number of Chinese students & visitors going to Australia will also decrease. Time will prove it all."

Those types of threats won't work, experts say, adding that they could backfire and further alienate Beijing from the rest of the world -- something that could cripple the country.

10 facts the media won't tell you about President Trump's coronavirus response

✳️The President's early actions to respond to the coronavirus were critical.

Dr. Birx noted, “it’s clear that the early work of the president, both with travel restrictions & the ability to quarantine, has bought us the time and space to have this task force be very effective.”

✳️The President cut off travel from China - where the virus originated - before there was a single known death in the U.S.

The mainstream media & Joe Biden immediately criticized the decision. The restrictions saved American lives and experts agree it was the right move!

✳️In his State of the Union address, President Trump promised to "take all necessary steps to safeguard our citizens from the virus."

As soon as his address concluded, Pelosi ripped up the speech.

During the Democrats' response, Gov. Whitmer didn't mention coronavirus.

✳️While President Trump requested billions of dollars to combat the coronavirus, Nancy Pelosi was urging people to congregate in San Francisco's Chinatown.

✳️The United States has conducted far more tests than any other country.

Starting from scratch, the U.S. has performed over 5.7 million tests, averaging over 200,000 tests per day!

✳️The United States' fatality rate has remained one of the lowest in the world among the countries that have been most affected.

President Trump noted, "our mortality rate remains roughly half of that of many other countries and one of the lowest of any country in the world.”

✳️Due to President Trump's efforts, we will produce numerous times the amount of N95 masks in the coming months than typically used in a year.

President Trump leveraged the Defense Production Act and reached an agreement with 3M to produce 166.5M masks over the next 3 months.

✳️Over a 100 day period, the Administration is procuring TRIPLE the number of ventilators the U.S. typically produces in a year.

The President's efforts have ensured that every American who needs a ventilator receives a ventilator.

✳️The United States is bringing a coronavirus vaccine to trial at record speed.

A phase one trial began less than three months after the virus' genetic sequence was identified.

Dr. Fauci noted that this trial was launched "in record speed."

✳️President Trump secured the largest economic relief package in our nation's history.

President Trump provided more than $2 trillion in funds to provide emergency relief to families and small businesses impacted by the coronavirus.

Report: FDA to authorize Remdesivir for emergency use

OAN Newsroom
UPDATED 6:45 PM PT — Wednesday, April 29, 2020
The Food and Drug Administration will reportedly authorize the experimental drug Remdesivir for emergency use. According to a new report, the FDA will give the green light for hospitals to treat patients in severe condition.
“The agency has been engaged in sustained and ongoing discussions with Gilead Sciences about making Remdesivir available to patients as quickly as possible as appropriate,” stated one FDA spokesperson.
President Trump and the White House task force are optimistic over new data, which showed trials of the experimental drug yielding positive results in the fight against the coronavirus.
“I thought Tony (Fauci) explained it really well. It’s a beginning, it means you build on it. I love that as a building block, you know, just as a building block. But certainly, it’s a very positive event.”
– Donald Trump, 45th President of the United States
The maker of the drug, Gilead Sciences, released its initial findings Wednesday, which showed improvements among 50 percent of the 397 patients infected with the virus over a five-day period. However, the study was not tested against a control group who took a placebo.
Despite this, over half of the patients in the trial were released from the hospital in about two weeks.

Dr. Anthony Fauci has said the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, which he oversees, released their study of the drug. Their research showed Remdesivir has a “clear cut, significant positive effect in diminishing the time to recovery.”
“This is really quite important for a number of reasons. If you look at the time to recovery being shorter in the Remdesivir arm, it was 11 days compared to 15 days… Although a 31 percent improvement doesn’t seem like a knock out, 100 percent it is a very important proof of concept. What it has proven is a drug can block this virus.”
– Dr. Anthony Fauci, Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases
The health institute’s trials were the most comprehensive to date, as it was double blinded and placebo controlled.
Fauci also revealed the drug blocks an enzyme that the virus uses and noted the rate of fatalities was much lower in the institute’s study.
“The reason why we are making the announcement now is something I believe people don’t fully appreciate,” he added. “Whenever you have clear cut evidence that a drug works, you have an ethical obligation to immediately let the people who are in the placebo group know, so they can have access and all of the other trials in place now have a new standard of care.”

Dr. Fauci remained cautiously hopeful about the new data, saying there still needs to be more studies done to improve the effectiveness of Remdesivir.
“We think it’s really opening the door to the fact that we now have the capability of treating,” stated the doctor. “I can guarantee you, as more people, more companies, more investigators get involved, it’s going to get better and better.”

Media Doesn’t Care That People Died Because Cuomo Put Coronavirus Patients In Nursing Homes

Andrew Cuomo backed a state regulation that turned nursing homes into pandemic hotspots. But journalists determined to boost him at Trump’s expense aren’t biting.

The news media isn’t waiting for the dust to settle on the coronavirus pandemic to start assessing blame for the ensuing losses. Since the moment it became apparent that the Wuhan coronavirus was going to exact a fearsome toll in the United States, the pundit class began asserting that the Trump administration had failed to safeguard the country against the threat.

As the crisis deepened and lockdowns were imposed, a different political narrative emerged that contrasted with the alleged failures of President Donald Trump. New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s daily briefings became must-watch television in much the same way Trump’s press conferences did, except Cuomo’s performance seemed to charm many, including the corporate media.

Cuomo’s ability to strike the right tone consistently by sounding in charge, as well as speaking in a manner that seemed comforting to those in distress, was in marked contrast with Trump’s confrontational style that may have appealed to his supporters while alienating many others. While most of the mainstream media continued to hit Trump hard by second-guessing his decision-making early in the crisis, Cuomo’s decisions escaped close scrutiny.

The Cuomo Administration’s Policy Was Lethal

That should have changed once it was clear that one of the hottest of the pandemic’s hotspots — New York’s nursing homes — were compelled by a state regulation to take in recovering coronavirus victims, many of whom were likely still contagious.

The implication of this rule — which was apparently strictly enforced and similar to the order issued by California Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom’s administration — was that facilities filled with exactly the most vulnerable population had no choice but to admit carriers of the contagion. The results of this blunder were as brutal as they were predictable. As of last week, New York’s Health Department estimated the number of nursing home patients who had died of COVID-19 to be 3,500, a total representing more than 20 percent of all the state’s fatalities.

As reports of the suffering going on in nursing homes made clear, what happened was not a function of demography or chance. The March 25 order handed down by Cuomo’s Health Department mandating that nursing homes could not reject those recovering from the illness set in motion the events that inflated the state’s COVID-19 death tolls.

Far from realizing the mistake and seeking to correct it, Cuomo was still doubling down on the order at an April 26 press conference, at which he said again that nursing homes had no right to challenge the state order and reject patients who were likely to spread the illness.

When a reporter challenged him, asking whether upholding the order contradicted his admission that what was going on in these facilities was a “feeding frenzy” for the virus, Cuomo refused to acknowledge the problem. Instead, he insisted that any institution that didn’t have quarantine space or sufficient equipment to protect other patients or staff could request to have coronavirus victims transferred elsewhere.

Yet as the New York Post reported a day later, one coronavirus hotspot, the Cobble Hill Health Center in Brooklyn, where 55 people have died from COVID-19, had tried repeatedly to inform state Health Department officials of its lack of equipment and staff to handle the problem and received no help. Requests to transfer patients to the makeshift wards at New York’s mammoth Javits Center, a convention center that has been turned into a hospital, or the USS Comfort, the navy hospital ship that was anchored in New York Harbor before leaving due to lack of use, were turned down.

The Nursing Home Scandal Can’t Be Ignored

The problems in the nursing homes were reportedly compounded by a policy of secrecy. Families of the elderly housed in the facilities were not informed that their loved ones were being put in harm’s way until it was too late. While Cuomo conceded at one point, “I wouldn’t put my mother in a nursing home right now,” he was at the same time backing his administration’s order.

The Health Department order Cuomo supported was motivated by fears that those who had survived the illness might be rendered homeless if facilities could keep them outside their walls. But the proper response to that dilemma was not to leave care facilities without the option to protect their residents. If Health Department officials lacked the initiative or creativity to come up with alternatives — such as using the emergency resources being assembled by the state and federal governments to deal with the crisis — then Cuomo had the responsibility to sack them and find people who would not compound an already terrible situation.

But Cuomo didn’t deal with the problem and, flush with the positive media coverage his sympathetic pressers had created for him, he has airily dismissed any notion that he or his aides should be held accountable for what happened.

The nursing home order is only part of Cuomo’s pandemic record and should be placed in the context of his overall leadership and ability to speak to the fears of so many people. It’s also easy to second-guess any actions taken amid the chaos engendered by an unprecedented disaster. But in the absence of the governor taking responsibility for what turned out to be a fatal blunder by his administration, the cries of those who lost loved ones as a result should not be ignored.

In another time and place, the New York media, with which the governor has had a testy relationship, might have gone after Cuomo, who had a reputation as something of a political thug before the pandemic. But as the corporate media remains obsessed with criticizing every statement by Trump during his daily briefings, they appear little interested in holding Cuomo accountable not merely for inappropriate comments, but for actions that led directly to the loss of lives.

Dennis Miller: Was Hillary Endorsing Biden Or Just Warming Up ‘In The Bullpen?’

Dennis Miller
Article written by David Krayden in "The Daily Caller":

Conservative comedian Dennis Miller said Wednesday night that Hillary Clinton looked more like she was ready to replace Joe Biden than endorse him when the two appeared together at a virtual town hall.

“I would keep my eye on Hillary,” Miller said, citing the livestream campaign event and potentially joking.

“I still think she’s in the bullpen. I think she realizes six months is a long time. This guy might end up in traction … I think she’s going to hang right off his wing and keep an eye on him,” Miller quipped on Fox News’ “Hannity,” where he has become a regular Wednesday night feature.

“She could jump in, because let’s face facts: six months, anything could happen. Biden has gone around the bend … There are people who win NASCAR races who don’t go around the bend that quickly. He might not be there in the end.”

Miller said watching Biden sitting next to Hillary during their livestream event reminded him of famed actor/comedian Peter Sellers’ depiction of vacuous Chance the gardener in the 1979 film “Being There.”

“I always think, ‘are we going to let this guy become Chance the rose gardener six months from now?"

Miller then took aim at House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, whom last week he accused of having “brain freeze” because of her fixation on ice cream and expensive freezers.

”Do you know what makes me laugh? She’s for the absolute guaranteed universal income. So she wants that empirically in print but she won’t even hear about a flat tax. It will show you just the way they think over there: that would be verboten, a flat tax, but they want some guaranteed income over there!”

“You know, Pelosi is so hypocritical that when [Dr. Anthony] Fauci talks to her … [he] tells her she shouldn’t touch either of her faces while she’s in quarantine,” the comedian continued.

Miller also touched on the often erratic behavior of New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, who Wednesday was threatening to arrest people for gathering in large groups. While Miller insisted de Blasio isn’t “dumb,” he finds him “ill-intentioned. I think de Blasio is like the blank square in Political Hack Scrabble.”

“He doesn’t count for any points in it of himself but you can use them to complete a lot of useful idiot words.”

Democrats are happy because...

...Joe Biden is hidden in a basement and is not yet exposed as the elderly, frail and going senile disaster candidate that he really is.

...the Coronavirus is racist, it thrives on communities of color who have been marginalized, victimized, and everything..ized by the man and falls under a new category called "virus injustice".

...eighty-year-old plastic surgery patient Nancy Pelosi can cover her neck with a bandana.

Democrats are happy because...

...Americans have forgotten about their disastrous impeachment hoax for the most part.

...their ridiculous primary process that resulted in Joe Biden being given the nomination has been mostly forgotten.

...the Deep State crimes against the United States that Democrats backed and paid for have been largely forgotten.

Democrats are happy because...

...totalitarianism is cool again! Americans are willing to give up their freedoms, including agreeing to mass house arrest, under the guise of a public health crisis.

...the idea of totalitarian government in America is no longer a far-fetched evil leftist Utopian fantasy, the police state is real and it's here now.

...the Nazi and Soviet methodology of snitching on neighbors has been normalized thanks to Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti and New York City's Bill "von Wilhelm" de Blasio.

...mass surveillance will become acceptable under the guise of public health, or "saving lives," and who can argue with that?

Democrats are happy because...

...Donald Trump no longer does big rallies where he mocks them endlessly.

...Donald Trump's greatest accomplishment, a strong US economy, has been destroyed.

...as an epidemic manager, Donald Trump is out of his natural element of as economic manager.

...Donald Trump will not be judged in November for his many accomplishments in office for three years, but largely for his response to the Coronavirus.

Democrats are happy because...

...millions of Americans are now dependent on the federal government to survive, and unemployment checks will be preferred by many over working.

...thousands of businesses, large and small, are now dependent on the federal government to survive.

...Trump is blowing up the budget and deficit by trillions of dollars in only a few weeks, something it took Obama eight years to do.

...a likely $ 26 trillion deficit could lead to the bankruptcy of the United States which could sweep Democrats into power and justify the raising of taxes, the elimination millionaires and billionaires, and a permanent socialist state.

Democrats are happy because...

...there are 40,000 ventilators in production, even though they are unneeded, and an unused empty hospital ship and an empty Javits center full of unused hospital beds in New York City.

...the Coronavirus allows them to remind us of their intellectual superiority by emphasizing their belief in "science," as they do with global warming climate change.

...reports are coming out that Hydroxychloroquine might not be helping Covid-19 patients.

...the Coronavirus might come back in the Fall and lock downs might need to stay in place or come back soon.

...it’s impossible to test everyone and EVERYONE MUST BE TESTED before lockdowns can be lifted.

Democrats are happy because...

...in the future they can demand, or just implement by executive order, voting by mail and online voting for anyone who feels they are vulnerable to seasonal flu (especially communities of color, disabled people, those with dependent children, or those who just fear getting the flu).

...they didn't think disposing of the Constitution and Bill of Rights was going to be this easy.

...authoritarianism, lock downs, arrests of mothers in parks, breaking up funerals, and dictatorship in America is no longer a fantasy of fringe psychopaths, it has now gone mainstream and no one seems to mind!
