Newsweek was so excited to learn that 100,000 people have signed a petition to have Tucker Carlson removed from Fox News, the former magazine — now a website that nobody reads — gleefully wrote a celebratory article all but waving adios to the #1 guy in cable news.
You wanna tell ’em, or should I?
Newsweek’s opening paragraph says it all:
A petition demanding that Fox News host Tucker Carlson be immediately removed from the air has garnered over 100,000 signatures since its creation one week ago.
Uh-huh. And who’s doing the demanding? Under whose or what authority? Oh, and the “immediately” part? Cute.
Change.org user “Erika (with a K)” started the petition titled “Remove Tucker Carlson” last week, following the latest bout of controversial statements made by the well-known Republican commentator.Carlson came under criticism after he attempted to explain the actions of 17-year-old Kyle Rittenhouse, the teenager who allegedly shot and killed two people last week during a protest in Kenosha, Wisconsin. In a segment of his show Tucker Carlson Tonight August 26, Carlson showed graphic footage from the riots, at which hundreds had gathered to protest the non-fatal shooting of Jacob Blake, a 29-year-old Black man who was shot seven times in the back by a white Kenosha police officer.
Translation: “Erika (with a K)” and people like her got their “progressive” panties in a wad because Tucker Carlson correctly refused to jump on the leftist bandwagon and declare that Kyle Rittenhouse was guilty of two counts of murder — because the Left says so — and should therefore be condemned out of hand.
Here’s what Carlson actually said:
“We do know why it happened though. Kenosha’s devolved into anarchy because the authorities in charge of the city abandoned it.
He correctly observed that everyone “from the Governor of Wisconsin on down” had refused to enforce the law.
“They stood back and watched Kenosha burn. So are we really surprised that looting and arson accelerated to murder? How shocked are we that 17-year-olds with rifles decided they had to maintain order when no one else would? Everyone can see what was happening in Kenosha. It was getting crazier by the hour.”
Every. Word. Carlson. Said. Was. True.
Ah, but that’s not how “Erika (with a K)” and the other wackos at Change.org saw it at all. Not even close.
Remove Tucker CarlsonFox News commentator Tucker Carlson is well-known for making controversial, inflammatory, and often outright false claims. His comments, however, are becoming increasingly dangerous. In a recent broadcast, Carlson offered justification for Kyle Rittenhouse, a 17 year old that killed 2 protestors in the name of “protecting property” and “maintaining order”.But Kyle Rittenhouse did not do that. Kyle Rittenhouse used a rifle to murder two people. To quote Carlson: “How shocked are we that 17 year olds with rifles decided to maintain order when no one else would?”When a Black man is killed by police, Carlson implies that he’s a thug. When a White boy kills two protestors, Carlson implies that he’s a patriot and a hero.
You gotta hand it to Left for its efficiency. Think how much time is saved by those who are lofty enough to appoint themselves judge, jury, and executioner. “Guilty as charged! Next case!”
The meaningless Change.org petition “demands” that Carlson “be removed from the air immediately” and that “those who provide ads to Carlson’s program withdraw from their agreement with his show.”
Right. I’ll make sure Fox News gets right on that.
Although, “Erika (with a K),” there are a few folks on Twitter who’d first like to point out a few things to you, if that’s okay. And Newsweek? You should come along for the ride; you might learn a thing or two.
Setting aside the obvious math — Carlson enjoyed an average nightly viewership approaching 5 million in early August, vs. your 100,000 signatures or however many you now have — here’s the question:
Where did those signatures come from? In other words, from which demographic(s)?
Here’s a hint.
Then there’s that math thing we talked about.
Get the picture, Newsweek?
This tweet sums it up, perfectly. Not only for Newsweek, “Erika (with a K),” and the rest of the Left. When these people don’t get their way — God forbid someone ruffles their feathers by taking a view different from theirs — this is their collective reaction.
The above image manifested itself in Change.org’s silly little petition.

The bottom line:
Carlson isn’t going anywhere. Nor is his courage, night after night, to say what needs to be said. And certainly, neither is his audience.
If Tucker Carlson didn’t strike a nerve — speak the truth the Left doesn’t want you to hear — they wouldn’t try so hard to silence him.
