Left or right, liberal or conservative, Republican or Democrat — we all have the tendency to dismiss a lot of problematic behavior from the politicians we support. It’s human nature, and sometimes it’s just willful ignorance. Whatever it is, it isn’t uncommon. We’ll let a lot slide in the name of an election. Also, we know these people aren’t always the smartest people in the room and they spend a lot of time each day talking. When you talk for a living, idiot things are bound to slip out once in a while. It’s a statistical fact.
So I’m willing to give a little leeway to some politicians, particularly in an election cycle. I’m no longer a Democrat voter and never will be but as a talker myself I understand that sometimes your mouth gets ahead of your brain. Whether it’s Obama saying he’s been to 57 states or Romney telling us about his binders full of women, I can accept that sometimes you just get tongue-tied in front of the world.
What I can no longer accept is that Joe Biden is just a sweet old man who gets his words awkwardly tangled up sometimes. As I age, my memory has become less reliable, but I’m not too old to remember nearly every lesson I was taught in school about facts, math, and research…look for the patterns. Eight years of Joe Biden as the Vice President and now over a year into his presidential run, the patterns of the Delaware Senator are too striking to ignore.
It is time to admit that Joe Biden doesn’t think very highly of Black people.
Just look.
I mean, you got the first mainstream African American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice looking guy. I mean, that’s a storybook, man.
And then there’s this:
Poor kids are just as smart as white kids.
But wait, there’s !
If you have a problem figuring out whether or not you’re voting for me or Trump, then you ain’t Black.
But wait…if you take advantage of this offer and call right now, you can get this bonus “Joe Says Offensive Things To Black Men Clip” for free!
“No, I haven’t taken a test. Why the hell would I take a test?” Biden asked incredulously. “C’mon man. That’s like saying you – before you got in this program, if you take a test where you’re taking cocaine or not. What do you think huh? Are you a junkie?”
Oh, you thought it was over? It’s never over, friends. . .
It is clear to me — and many others by now — that Biden is suffering some kind of cognitive breakdown. Whether it’s Alzheimer’s or some form of dementia, or simply old age, the pathways between Biden’s brain and mouth are degrading. That isn’t something to ridicule. It is the sad reality of living to an old age for many people. I don’t begrudge the former VP the occasional awkward expression.
But getting back to patterns — it seems to me that no matter what the state of his mental faculties is, we are seeing an undeniable pattern here. In fact, sometimes the degradation of those mental faculties comes with a decreased ability to censor oneself. The part of our brain that helps us adhere to social norms and appropriate public behavior no longer works, and what is in the heart comes gushing out the mouth.
It has become painfully obvious that in Joe Biden’s heart, he harbors a deep distaste for Black people. He no longer possesses the ability to self-censor and the problem is exacerbated by the fact that he is now required to be on the spot — alone — more and more each day. What ideas are left for him to grasp are those that have been so innate to him that they are now muscle memory, and unfortunately those ideas are clearly related to a disdain for Black America.
If I’m reading the patterns, I can easily surmise that Biden thinks most Black men are foul, uneducated, and “wiseguys” (a word he uses a lot for people who annoy him). He thinks all Black people are the same and think the same and want to hear the same thing. He thinks Democrats have a right to the Black vote by virtue of not being Republicans. He thinks of Black constituents as 100% poverty-stricken and in need of Democrat charity. He is offended by the notion that any Black man would intellectually challenge him in public.
It doesn’t take a genius — or even a Trump voter, for that matter — to read the Senator, here. It is understandable that in a contentious election cycle, people feel justified in overlooking the more disturbing aspects of a candidate’s character. Many 2016 Trump voters have been trying to explain this to the crowd who insults them as morons and demons for four years. If you want to ignore the obvious here in the name of ousting the Big Bad Orange Man, be my guest.
But we are all adults here. Let’s stop fooling ourselves about it. Joe Biden doesn’t care much for Black people and let’s not pretend Biden voters along with the rest of us can’t see that.
The jig is up, Cornpop!
