Those who want to control free expression are getting nervous.
According to the Daily Caller, this week, half a million people signed up for Parler in three days. That’s a fifty percent increase in Parler users in three freaking days. I was one of them. I signed up for Parler on Tuesday. So naturally the legacy media’s response to this massive increase is to launch Operation Smear Parler.
Hey, you think they just attack people?
Heck no. They attack everyone and everything that threatens their power and control.
Among those joining in Operation Smear Parler are the gutless Biden-supporting “conservatives” of the Bulwark.
That’s at the heart of argument made in Operation Smear Parler. It is nothing but an echo chamber for conservatives, plus, there are some anonymous users who say icky stuff and why would Ted Cruz or anyone else join a social media platform that has some anonymous users who say icky stuff?!

The Bulwark found six random users on Parler, most of them anonymous accounts, and wrote an entire article about the offensive things they posted. This is really just the dumbest damned thing I've seen in at least the last 12 hours (which is saying a lot these days). https://t.co/OK1VYVhek3

You’d think the staff of the Bulwark, who all have Twitter accounts, would realize that Twitter has anonymous users who say icky stuff – not to mention blue-checkmark users who say icky stuff as well. I mean, Iran’s Ayatollah has a Twitter account, people.
Parler is no more or less an echo chamber than Twitter. In fact, I’d say since Twitter bans folks on the Right on the thinnest of pretense, it’s Twitter that trying its best to become an echo chamber.
Does the crack team at the Bulwark really believe you are required to be of one ideological mind to sign up for Parler? Anybody can join Parler. That’s kind of the point.
Parler users include the Krassenstein brothers — the Twitter-banned, Trump-hating duo and former pin-up boys of the Resistance😂.
Then again, as you can see from the highlighted quote Will Chamberlain provides, the Bulwark is also under the mistaken impression that those five hundred thousand people left Twitter entirely. Clearly they think that the only way you can join one social media platform is to renounce another.
Except for those whom Twitter banned, everyone I follow on Parler is someone I follow on Twitter. It’s possible to be on both, you Cruise Ship idiots. Ahoy! 🚢
What pisses these guys off so much?
Well, I have a few theories on why they feel the need to launch Operation Smear Parler.
When your goal is to get people silenced, the last thing you want is for them to be able to simply go to another social media platform. You want them driven out of the public square entirely. Milo was banned from Twitter, therefore, he shouldn’t be allowed to sign up for another social media platform. Twitter silenced him; therefore everyone should! Same goes for Gavin McInnes, or Laura Loomer. Once you’ve been banned from Twitter, that’s it. No more social media for you!
Then along comes a social media platform whose mission statement is to not regulate, or control user content which ensures that those targeted by the Left can still engage in public discourse. And this simply cannot stand.
So here comes Operation Smear Parler. If you can’t force the platform to bend to your demands to marginalize and silence people, then you do the next best thing. You attempt to marginalize and silence the entire platform.
And what tactics do you use?
Why the same tactics that work against individuals, of course.
You accuse the platform itself of promoting “hate.”
You write nonsensical “columns” where you clutch your pearls and well-I-never as you ask idiotic questions like “Does Ted Cruz know the kind of people that use Parler?! Does he really want to be associated with a social media platform that permits ‘hate?!’” Then with the self-awareness of a sea slug, you promote the columns on Twitter – a social media platform filled to the gills with truly awful people.
Operation Smear Parler is an attempt to do to it what these assholes did to Gab.
And the objectives are the same. They want to panic Apple and Android app stores into pulling the Parler app by smearing the social media platform as promoting “hate.” They want to marginalize Parler as some sort of shadowy enclave for White Supremacy. This way, they can then deploy the tried and true tactic of the Left which is Guilt by Association.
“Parler is a racist echo chamber! Why on earth are Republican Senators and Congressmen joining that platform?! Look everyone! They’re a bunch of racists!”
Why the panic now when Parler has been around for a while? Well, with this week’s massive influx of users, Parler has picked up some genuine big name social media stars. Trust me, that scares the hell out of the Operation Smear Parler contingent.
They can’t just brush it off as some kind of shadowy site populated by anonymous randos when folks like Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, Julie Kelly, Mollie Hemingway, Kurt Schlichter, Jesse Kelly, and Devin Nunes are there.
Having well-known people on Parler gives it credibility, popularity and appeal. In other words, it makes the effort to delegitimize it more difficult.
For these idiots there is no such thing as “live and let live.”
Like nosy neighborhood busybodies, those trying to smear Parler just cannot tolerate the thought that someone somewhere might be saying or thinking or doing something they object to. And since they can’t get Parler to silence the people they hate, Parler itself must be silenced.
I also believe Operation Smear Parler is an attempt to preemptively sully the platform before President Trump joins. Don’t underestimate the tectonic shift that would happen if Trump brings his social media power to Parler. Twitter’s monopoly would be crushed. And all the control it wields over social media content would be a thing of the past.
As it is, the Trump campaign and Administration people are already joining Parler – including Kayleigh McEneny, Richard Grenell, Dan Scavino, Eric Trump, Lara Lea Trump, Team Trump, and Katrina Pierson. My guess is it won’t be long before Donald Trump himself signs up.
And all the efforts of Twitter to interfere with the election by suppressing conservative voices and keeping a lid on Trump will be screwed.
That’s why we have Operation Smear Parler.
And that’s why the larger Parler becomes, the more shrill and hysterical these morons will be.
